Who doesn't love a project that saves money and is rather easy to accomplish? I know I do. Welcome to my channel today, I hope you are having a wonderful day.

Today's project is easy, no sew, curtain making. You will need drop cloths, bleach, buckets, a cup, water, gloves, time, patients, washer and dryer, iron, curtain rods, curtain clips.

Well done. Terrific results. When you wash your drapery, you can add bleach to the wash cycle as you would for washing whites. That will lighten their color over time. Use cold water wash to limit shrinking, especially if the fabric content is 100% cotton. I notice CCS Chicago Canvas & Supply sells a variety of dropcloth and tarp in an array of fabric weights, blends, colors, and sizes. They have their own website though you can also purchase some of their selection on Amazon. CCS acknowledges that their products are popular for drapery so they have an interest in the home crafter market.

Thank You for the video. I just wonder where did you buy a very long curtain rod? I have a Florida room with 9 windows that connect together to be cover but couldn't figure out what to do about the curtain rod? Please help!!
Hey there, thanks for stopping in and for your question. I purchased mine at Bed Bath Beyond. In the past I worked two smaller rods together by putting the small insert in the middle and the larger piece at either end but some rods now you can’t pop the end out to make this happen. Hope this helps!
Can I bleach all in the same container 2 at a time? Just add more water and bleach if needed after removing 2.
Seems like lots of water and bleach waste and I don’t even have this many containers or buckets LOL
Sure. What ever works. I just happened to have those available and had so many I was bleaching. Thanks for asking and here to your project going well.
I've read most TH-camrs that have done this project, using a half of gallon or more of bleach per panel. Also, the panels most sit for a very long time in the bleach, but not over night.
Yes, I soaked at least four hours or so!!! And even noted I should’ve used more bleach. Thank you for sharing your insight! It maybe just what another needs to hear. Are you planning to do a project like such?
@@AshleyMurphyArt yes, I did get you did that. Also, very hot is best, since it opens up the fibers, but I understand you couldn't do that with all the buckets you had outside. Having worked with fabric, just suggesting best practices.

I think you could have bleached the drop cloths in the washing machine. By the way, I never thought about bleaching the drop cloths. Thanks for that. I plan to make a slipcover for a large chair. I used clothespins to hold the pleats on drapes and left the clothespins on for about a week. How much did the drop cloths cost? I did not understand the clipping process.
Judy Steffen Hello Judy, drop clothes range from $10-$30 a piece depending on the size/length you need. You may check your local Lowe’s/Home Depot/ Hardware Store/Paint Store for pricing. Yes, I could have bleached them in the washer. However I did them outdoors to keep them bleach fumes out of my home. As well as for longer soak time with all of them at one time. If I were doing just a few I’d prob said forget it and tossed in washer. This was such a large project and doing them in the containers outside helped speed the process. Which part of the clip did you not understand? The part out to actually clip them? Or where to clip them?
I think I understood her. Fold your drape in half lengthwise. Place a clip at that center fold. Now your drape has a left side and a right side of equal size. Find the center of the left side by making another fold, (bring the left outer edge to the center clip). Place a clip at that new fold. Repeat for the right side of the drape. Continue folding to find the center point between any two clips. Place as many clips as needed. The "fold in half" method allows even spacing of the clips without the need of measurement and calculation. Ashley did that but also made an extra tuck at the top hem before placing each clip. You can hang the drape without those tucks but they do make a nice look. I would use something to measure the tucks to make certain they are all the same size.
No, not in a front loader. Best to do them in a regular washing machine or bucket.
