joy in my heart I just cracked my exam with first class grades. after 2 attempt. Though is not difficult but tricky, I will be happy to help any candidate going in for the exam through my experience.. thank you all for your support.
It's 110/70 can't rely on the sound, when the needle bounces that's the systolic, when the needle stops bouncing and the sound fades that's the diastolic
if you checking the needle on the sphygmomanometer then the bp is 119/65. sometimes in a very loud hospital, you can't rely too much on the korotkov sound since you can barely hear it. So greg brown, he's not wrong. in fact both of you are right.
Why don't you hear a pulse beneath the cuff, when it is deflated? Now the blood rushes unhindered through the arteries and should be the loudest, shouldn't it?
Hi I'm a graduate of BS Nursing but still confused if I should record the systolic BP as THE FIRST EVER KOROTKOFF SOUND or THE FIRST LOUDEST KOROTKOFF?? In your video, I think the BP of the patient is 130/70 (Very first/Very past korotkoff) Am I correct? Or Wrong?
its an aproximate, that meaning it could be higher or lower, thats why you gotta aim higher just in case, it also gives you more time to regulate the airflow to ensure your not letting it go too fast.
To be geeky about it I would presumably the cuff would have to apply more force on a big muscular arm than on a thin flabby arm. That'd mean a different reading on different people even if their blood pressure is the same. And even using the same cuff on the same arm you always get different results. It's a very crude, unreliable test in my opinion.

In which direction is the valve turned while inflating and deflating the cuff?
@@faz5911 To inflate the cuff, turn the screw or valve to the right and to the left if you want to deflate the cuff
hi live in Brazil. I am in academic nursing in 4 period'm learning to speak English like a lot of their videos. congratulations !!
lmao
I think the procedure would only be complete if the doctor had told the patient the result.
True
I think its 130/70
@@smallpomegranate7925 1 thought it was 135/85
The doctor says, “good news, you have a blood pressure”
I think the doctor or the nurse will document it on the patient file ...then if there's need for treatment...it boils down to the patient file
Thanks for making a short and to the point video about this
I have this as part of a cardiovascular OSCE tomorrow, not done it since first year!
I am from great Iraq studying in the college of nursing thanks because I benefited from you 🇮🇶
I just saw this today in class and for some reason I feel relaxed
that was exactly what I was looking for! thank you so much!
thank you ! this is exactly what i was looking for😍
This video is awesome! So short and to the point, plus easy to understand 👍 makes life so much easier! Lol
that was very simple and awesome .. god bless you guys
138/68 ?
I know some people who are almost 90 years of age who had such readings.
The result is 130/70❤
Thank you so much this was what I was looking for.
Shoutout from Swedish nurse school ❤
Wow, good job, this is something special for me
Just wondering if you do need to check the BP 2-3 times, 10-15mins apart to obtain an average reading?
You can. But when you have a long line of patients waiting, you can only check once.
the video was fast and i put the speed on 0.5....and it went funny...thank you guys for the video :)
Hii I'm a Indian Medical student,it's very useful for me & peoples
I listened to those Kortokoff sounds and got the blood pressure reading - which was 134/64.
In this video you mean
@@mohammadfarooqi6255 yes
I got 140/70
you can't hear the korotkow sounds on every patient though, especially in a loud hospital
Barbara Oh yes. I understand you 100%
Wow. Your video is really helpful with the step by step and is easy to understand. Thank you.
Tomorrow’s my final osce ayyyyy
Thanks
136/70
Same
136/68
Wait a second --- that guy is lying! He isn't "Andrew", he's Liam Snodgrass! I would recognize him anywhere!!
Lyle Joth Ok, you win! ;)
+Geeky Medics can you do a video on a allergy test
What's his blood pressure? It sound like to me 138/65
yup, that what it sounded like
Coinkidink, one of our Family Medicine lecturers here in Namibia is Snodgrass too. Dr. Kate Snodgrass, from the US.
Thanks!
thank you so much thats perfect explanation
You guys are awesome keep it up!
thank you !!!
Ty so much .,it really is so easily explained..I completely understand
How do you check if the cuff size is the correct one? I see you putting it vertically on the "index" size but what does it mean? How does that work?
Renato Morais the width of the arm is not smaller than the length between the 2arrows pointed on the blood pressure cuff.
So so wonderfully explained 😊✌🏼
thank you guys
138|68 tell me if correct doing my practice here
125/70
136/63
Was that 136/64 mm of Hg
So helpful شكرا🙈
They are final year medical student since 10 years
Thank you for let us know the procedure.
Thanks

What is the “cuff maker” at 0:53 ? Why does it have to be aligned to the artery? Is it important?
👍 YES 👍
this is a best method, i like it ,
Very useful
Thank u sir this is helpful
SO HIS BP IS 134\64
Thank You 🌿
Diastolic: when the sound significantly decrease, not when it disappears. Usually about 10mmHg higher.
Actually New guidelines say it is when sound disappears.
What does osce stand for?
It is okay if we do this pressure without gloves ?!!
well demonstrated
is this more accurate than an omeron blood pressure machine ?
dale stuart manual blood pressure is 100% accurate if the examiner is skilled at the procedure
perfect guide ^^
Good for nurse osce 👍

Left arm or right arm?
thank you so much
Washing your hands kinda seems like you're insulting the patient implying they have dirty hands 😂
Not at all
Or it’s just practicing safe and healthy habits in a medical facility...
Thanks. Its very simple
Looked smart!
Thought someone's knocking my door. 😀 1:42
Thanks, This will help me pass my Demo😁
137 / 64
excellent
Thank you
So, what was the result? 135/70?

Three years later you get this reply :) That is the same number I came up with also.
Correct ✅
thank you so much
what did y’all read?
Amazing
It’s very helpful
thank for it

it should be even numbers. so 138/64 I would say:)
Great way ,❤
Forgot to wash hands again during the pumping period...jk great job, nice video
Is 171 over 95 high or low for blood pressure??
Very high
Very high. That’s already an hypertensive crisis.
Grateful
Is it 124 over 64? I’m wanting to learn
thank you very much!
I dont know i always think its rude to clean the hands infront of the patient
that accent is dope
Lancashire accent...The best county in England.
130/70mmHg
Thankyou love from pakistan
Does anyone know what the 4th Korotkoff sound is in Paediatric BP assessment?
130/70?
134/62
hi why add 30 mmhg above the approximatre systolic bp
its an aproximate, that meaning it could be higher or lower, thats why you gotta aim higher just in case, it also gives you more time to regulate the airflow to ensure your not letting it go too fast.
His BP was a tad bit high
Thank

Too good
Nah, am good with dinamaps. Try checking 10 patients at the end of a busy night shift.
😊
140/70 I guess
130 over 70 mmHg
123/60. Its nearly impossible watching a video. Its way different in person.
