      the teacher took the kids property and decided to arms it up for much longer than the class.
      the parent has reason to be annoyed
      should he have played his cards better? yes.
      Did the teacher play a part in the annoyance? Yes. Stop taking kids things for longer than necessary. You hold it till the end of class and if any punishment is to be doled out you do it then.
      breaking as rule does not mean the teacher gets to break the law too. the item was not hers, she knew why he was there and who he was. If she returned the bag at the end of class, none of this would have happened.
      A student can demand his rights upheld, even if it contravenes a school rule.
      For example, if the school does random searches and the child has their bag on them and refuses. They can't just rip it open, even if the search was a part of the school rules. They can punish the student as an agreement was made and they broke it. They can't search his bag.

      unfortunately the teacher will be charged as the rules are that a teacher should not fight either students or parents just allow them to beat you. Then you can sue them. That student should not attend that school anymore. Parents need to train the children how they should grow. The Bible tells you that. So the student is wrong to take it to school and the parents make it worse. So this is to tell all the home train is needed and it started at the home by all parents.

    For everyone asking why the Police charged the teacher then it is evident you don't know the law. While the teacher may very well be in the right in terms of having to defend himself by inflicting injuries on the parent, the law still stands that when a person does this he/she have committed an offense and is thereby liable for prosecution. It is then the responsibility of the court to try the matter and make a judgment. This is what is known in law as a case and cross case.
    With that said Police Officers are simple enforcers of the Laws that already exist, they don't make them!
    N.B People it's modern times now, try and gain some knowledge it's available for everyone.

      The news said the teacher prevented the parent from entering the staff room. The inference here is that she may have physically blocked the parent, which is not an assault. The assault started with whomever threw the first hit. So if they charged her as well, it must mean she may have been the instigator of actual physical assault.

      The proper channel was to not have the bag beyond the class the bag was taken in. School rules are not laws. The teacher does not have a right to scurry off with the bag. Teachers have been doing this for decades now so Jamaicans think it's okay. No. Hold the item, give it back after class.

    • @user-rx8wc2id9u
      @user-rx8wc2id9u 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Teacher's job wasn't to physically block anyone. She was there to teach.
      1. She did two things wrong. Keeping the bag longer than necessary. Her class was over? Return it.
      2. She then tried to impede the parent trying to get his (rightful) belongings. You may have a school rule for something but those come with consequences that can be discussed after. They do not take the place of the law of the land. Any bit of impeding him from getting his property, he had a right to move you out the way.
      The police aren't familiar with the law but know they both fought. So they left it up to a judge to decide.
      This is like when security guards think they can block you from leaving a private property because "we need to search you vehicle". Or any other litany of things schools love to think they can enforce just because "rules is rules". Those rules do not take over from the law. If someone breaks them, they still have their legal rights and the police can uphold them. What ever punishment the school then decides in response, suspension/expulsion, etc is what can legally be done. Fighting a parent like you're mike Tyson? A male parent? She lost the purpose of her presence at that school and decide she was going to be a boxer.

    When did the teacher take the bag? Knowing that the child had other classes. Why none of the other teachers intervene when the child showed up without a bag for class? Also, how long did it take for the parent to get to the school for the bag and how long was the parent waiting before he/she decided to enter the staff room?
    The teacher should have return the bag to the student.
    We need the whole story

    • @nigerianclassic8209
      @nigerianclassic8209 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When students are out of order and rude, parents rebel. When teachers are attacked by hooligans, parents blames teacher. This is just a perfect example of how the country is being operated. The innocent is persecuted and the lawbreakers get low mindset individuals to go on strike to take about how good they are. Training starts at home. Why was she disruptive? Why couldn't she have heed to counsel to behave?
      The parents need to keep the child at school and teach the child he has created and stop letting them in society to destroy the schools.

    If corporal punishment is in effect and this is happening in the schools, can you imagine what's going to take place later if that is declared null & void? It is sooo sad. The truth is charges can be easily laid against a teacher ( a few years ago police came to my workplace and was ready to arrest me based only on what a student reported) My approach is talking less and if the class and school rules are not being followed I log their infraction on their student files. That is my evidents that I can take to the school administrators.
    A teacher's classroom or staffroom is not a safe space anymore. True not the V.T.H.S. I went to years ago.
