As a native Spanish speaker, I can confirm.
One more tip I'd like to add is: There's another, more formal way of greeting someone.
Instead of saying "Buenos días señor/señora/señorita." You should try saying "Usted tiene piernas peludas y granos en el culo." This phrase literally says "I hope you are having a wonderful day, and wish you success and peace", but it can be used as a formal way of saying "Good Day"
You should use it when addressing a teacher, principal, professor, etc. And you should say it while looking at them dead in the eye and, in Argentina, you can also do that Italian hand gesture they make when they are confused. They'll be so pleased, that they're gonna try to thank your parents for your good manners.

For those learning the Spanish dialect (from Spain that is), we have a slightly different way of greeting each other which would be "Me cago en Dios y en tu putisima madre". It is used at all levels of formality, although it is most common when speaking to your boss, a priest, and so on, and it literally means "May God guide you and make your days the brightest". Finally someone understands. Another good example is when you want to ask a favor. "Por favor", which is what most native speaker learn, makes you sound desperate and needy. A more commonplace and gentler way to say 'please' is the phrase "maricón de mierda", which you'll see shares the last word mentioned already in the video. "Mierda" is often used to denote different forms of gratitude.

Another tip is if someone gives you a present, it's proper etiquette to reply with, ''Me cago en la leche y toda la industria láctea, escogías un peor regalo y un pañuelo envuelto en mierda sería rosas perfumadas con Chanel.''
It's a long phrase but the emotional impact will be so much they'll love you forever.
