  • The layout has now had its main mainline track loop laid and ready to be powered. Not far from trains running now. I show how I laid the track , including track preparation, sleeper respacing and more.
    I hope you enjoy.

Looking good Jack, I’ve used both the sleeper spacing and elevation on my OO and I agree with everything you said, complete pain in the ass spacing, but totally worth it. Looking forward to the next update! Cheers Geoff

Apologies for putting you through all that pain but as you rightly said, the end result is worth it. Richard @ Everard Junction redid his station and the transformation was stunning. Well done that man.

@@SteveSmithRailways it was definitely worth doing. Fortunately my layout isn’t quite as big as EJ and my area didn’t require a 4 track mainline so Richard definitely has my full sympathy!

Omg, you have done so much!! I love the inclusion of that junction too, like you say it will add to the operations. And elevation too... wow. This is going to be a great layout...!

Excellent update Jack! The curves and elevation will definitely make for some great running shots for all the efforts you’ve put into this from the beginning, so looking forward to seeing trains running as much as you will, cheers Darrell

Nice video mate. Awesome to see some track laid! wont be too long before trains are running around the layout. Those West Hill Wagon Works super elevation wedges are a great bit of kit. Looking forward to the next one.

Track work looks great..don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but did you cut the little wires to isolate the frog of your points?..it may cause you a few issues with shorts if not..I keep my fingers crossed..

@@browniesspotting3512 don’t worry, I noticed I forgot to cut them (was too eager to lay them down 🤣) but did end up taking them up and checking and cutting them if they needed to be! Points were already glued down so couldn’t really reshoot

@@belsteadlanemodelrailway that’s a relief..although not great when you’ve laid them but better than wiring and then having to do it..I’ve done the same as you with sleepers and it’s certainly worth the effort..layout looks like it will be fantastic
