Great to see Crusoe absorbing beekeeping like a sponge and you too Tara. As a Kiwi beekeeper I remember when I started out how exciting it was to discover a whole new world. You are beginning beekeeping in exactly the right way with an experienced beek to teach you the basics and who is patient while you gain in confidence. You will become obsessed and after 10 years I still learn something new every time I am with the bees. Now that John is an accomplished joiner, you can persuade him to build your hiveware for you.

Just a tip: A heated knife makes the wax "lid" removal faster. It's all so interesting. The kitchen looks amazing. Crusoe is absolutely adorable. I too had a child who preferred to run around without clothes. It's very freeing.

Crusoe is an amazing three year old! His ability to focus and understand is way ahead of an average three year old. He is a beautiful, sweet little boy. I haven’t seen as much of Sawyer as he hasn’t been around as long, but he appears to be a bright, happy little boy, too! Tara and John, you are both amazing parents. My brother worked with the bees in the fields when he was 12 on up. He learned enough to not only work with our dad, but go to another beekeeper and help train in several men! At 12-13!

Some of my favorite childhood memories are helping my grandfather with his hives ... and enjoying the amazing honey. My grandfather believed bee stings helped his arthritis. I was so engrossed in this epispde, I just wasn't ready for it to end! Tara and John you are blessed by such wonderfully patient and kind Portugese people, it restores faith in the goodness of humanity. Crusoe is in so many ways mature for his age as he was in this episode, and also able to be a healthy "normal" 3 year old. I loved how he opened his arms at the hives as though embracing them all, he is exceptionally brave! Little Sawyer is so delightful, I love watching him experiencing life. You are right to shield him from exposure. John, you are so self effacing, and your talents and skills delightful. Thank you for including the dry radiator, it was a wake up call for me- I nearly always check the gas tank, but never think of the radiator! Now for certain I will !! I had left the video and then come back and you had that cabinet on its side~ I was a little worried that was where it was going to live. Your car mechanic may recommend carrying radiator fluid to top, until the source of the leak is fixed! Adding water in am emergency is ok, but then the whole radiator has to be flushed.

I can’t paste the picture of the craft- paint a rock yellow, then use black and white sharpies, some little glue on googlie (sp?) eyes and then a pipe cleaner for wings. They are so cute!!
This was another very special episode with the bees. Just love them and watching you and Crusoe amd Jaoi learning and enjoying the total buzz of it all. Years ago I read a wonderful book by Rudolf Steiner called Bees . Not sure if its still in print, but if you can get a copy, it is well worth it. 💛🐝

Loved the bee work and so awesome for Crusoe to be introduced so young and then Sawyer gets to be included. What an amazing childhood they have. Now about the radiator leak (wherever it is). Tara you made a comment about Magic Mind shipping carbon neutral and how you appreciate that. As an active advocate working in an organization The Electric Vehicle Association I am recommending that you go electric. End the headaches of petrol vehicle fumes, particulates, warming and it's massive number of parts getting overheated and banging against each other all making them break down. Electric vehicles are cleaner, have way fewer moving parts plus they're both twice as efficient and over life of the vehicle cost less than petrol driven. You and John are making the future through the old in your farm. It's already delightful. Electric vehicles are the future and they are delightful. I say that from years of personal experience. I will say no more other than I am 100% positive you will be thrilled to drive electric when you get there. Ooops more. It will also be great for the boys future. Thanks so much for sharing your journey and the heartfelt way you live it with us.
My dear Newbys, I´m with you with Saywer! I think it´s a wise desition to not include him too much, if he can run freely like he wants, without having too much clothes on!! I was so engrossed in this epispde, I just wasn't ready for it to end! Tara and John you are blessed by such wonderfully patient and kind Portugese people, it restores faith in the goodness of humanity. Crusoe is in so many ways mature for his age as he was in this episode, and also able to be a healthy "normal" 3 year old. I loved how he opened his arms at the hives as though embracing them all, he is exceptionally brave! Little Sawyer is so delightful, I love watching him experiencing life. You are right to shield him from exposure. John, you are so self effacing, and your talents and skills delightful. Thank you for including the dry radiator, it was a wake up call for me- I nearly always check the gas tank, but never think of the radiator! Now for certain I will !! Love your channel which is never dull or boring, Thank you both.🌹

I had left the video and then come back and you had that cabinet on its side~ I was a little worried that was where it was going to live. I was convinced it would be beautiful but then when you stood it up, I understood. You have such a good eye!!!
Tara, I just attended a bee festival this weekend!! It was such a great opportunity to meet with other bee enthusiasts. I am so happy you love bees too!!! Here is a craft to do with the boys!!

Crusoe is so brave , unreal any other child would be screaming and running away , I think he’s more interested, and this keeps him focused a lovely child ,rather yous than me .🙈
Your car mechanic may recommend carrying radiator fluid to top, until the source of the leak is fixed! Adding water in am emergency is ok, but then the whole radiator has to be flushed.

It cracks me up as a Lived Experience Professional Counsellor that people think anger/anxiety/depression "management" is the way to go. My clients get to experience all these and so much more learning to lean into these "behaviours" and ask them, what they are teaching them...happy to assist you to eliminate "anxiety" Tara ❤

I can’t paste the picture of the craft- paint a rock yellow, then use black and white sharpies, some little glue on googlie (sp?) eyes and then a pipe cleaner for wings. They are so cute!!

This was another very special episode with the bees. Just love them and watching you and Crusoe amd Jaoi learning and enjoying the total buzz of it all. Years ago I read a wonderful book by Rudolf Steiner called Bees . Not sure if its still in print, but if you can get a copy, it is well worth it. 💛🐝

Now about the radiator leak (wherever it is). Tara you made a comment about Magic Mind shipping carbon neutral and how you appreciate that. As an active advocate working in an organization The Electric Vehicle Association I am recommending that you go electric. End the headaches of petrol vehicle fumes, particulates, warming and it's massive number of parts getting overheated and banging against each other all making them break down. Electric vehicles are cleaner, have way fewer moving parts plus they're both twice as efficient and over life of the vehicle cost less than petrol driven.
You and John are making the future through the old in your farm. It's already delightful. Electric vehicles are the future and they are delightful. I say that from years of personal experience. I will say no more other than I am 100% positive you will be thrilled to drive electric when you get there. Ooops more. It will also be great for the boys future.

My dear Newbys, I´m with you with Saywer! I think it´s a wise desition to not include him too much, if he can run freely like he wants, without having too much clothes on!! The most important thing is, that he is healthy and happy! That is all that counts!

Bee suits are hot, aren't they! Amazing bee episode and Crusoe and YOU are very brave. Being a beekeeper, taking off the honey harvest can be pretty intense! So many bees. Also very exhilarating! Diogo is so very lovely and patient. A great teacher. Beekeeping is the most wonderful hobby. You will never stop learning. Enjoy!
