I have the IZ 5S and it feels great. I'm 98mph SS.
100mph swing speed with moderate tempo. TSR 2, 10° head, A1 setting, 2022 Mitsubishi C6 Red 60 Stiff flex playing at 45”. 15 yards longer than the Paradym, Stealth 2, and G430 options I tested.
I got a great deal of HZRDUS black handcrafted 65 6.0 from 2nd Swing beginning of 2021 and that was my best shaft of my life!! Lightweight but sturdy and can support me strong!!
Hzrdus black 4th zen looks kinda between black HC and smoke/smoke RDX! Want to try them one day definitely!!

Great video...thanks. I'm curious what the difference is between the Tensei 1K Black x 65 and the Graphite Design AD UB? This is for a 117 SS that was fit into the Tensei 1K Black x but wondering if the GD would be a good option to check out as well. Could potentially deloft the club a bit if the GD is higher launch.
Brilliant reviews of the shafts. I’m going for TSR fitting in Ireland next week, it’ll be very hard to better my TSI. I’m thinking maybe only an upgrade shaft in my own driver might be the outcome. Need a higher launch than my RDX. Graphite Design might be the answer.

@@2ndswing Hi Thomas, had my fitting on Saturday and it went really well, TSR3 ended being better than my TSI3, I’m still with the Hzrdus black Shaft as the upcharged shaft did nothing for me. Interestingly this time 1/2” shorter shaft really helped get rid of my bad shot which is the odd necky strike.
The hzrdus shafts are just as good as any of the upcharge shafts from graphite design or any other brand. There is a reason it has been offered by so many oem's year after year. It has also had a substantial tour presence for a long time.
The Hzrdus Black gen 4 is as good as anything on that table.
I love my new black shaft. Better than anything else I tried in a driver fitting.
your opinion on the Mitsubishi Kai'li line ? red or the blue for a 90-94 mph swing speed or am i better off to go with VENTUS RED TR 5 ?...thx cheers

Why? You know what speed suits flex surely? Google that if not!
I did a fitting with Jacob at the Minnetonka store and swing speed is a factor but it’s not the biggest factor. Spin, launch, and stability also go into what shaft works for you I have the dynamic gold 105 r300 shaft in my iron but on my recent driver fitting I have a hzrdus black 6.5. Just get fit and learn as much as you can from it. That’s my advice.
I currently play a calllaway rogue with a HZRDUS Smoke RDX Red shaft. Which is the most similar to that?
i just received my tsr 2 driver from 2nd swing last week and could not agree with you guys more about the upgraded shaft options. i went with the gd hd shaft and in my opinion was well worth the 200 upcharge. my dispersion was way better and my carry distance was 7 yards longer than any of the stock options and the gd feels miles better. the gd shafts have a way of feeling stable at impact while feeling softer at the same time.

I'm a right in saying that this year for the first time Titleist are offering the stock shafts in TX flex to custom order. The torque numbers for the TX flexes are significantly lower than the X and so have Titleist finally offered the higher quality version for high swingspeed players?

I'm thinking about the Ventus Blue S , I basically was drawing and sometimes hooking Hazardous and Ventus both but the vents launched higher , longer . Any certain shafts that might help hook less ? I adjusted the loft and Lie angle down , helped some .
late response but shafts dont really affect your slice/ hook or whatever you may have, they just affect things like height, spin, distance
Great video gents. Out of curiosity, do you have any shafts you recommend to try to increase launch and decrease spin? I am more interested in getting a new driver shaft than a new driver head.
Current driver setup TSI4 9deg A1 setting, hrzrdous 6.0, Stiff flex 45.5in.
Quick tempo, 118-121mph on trackman with ballspeeds of 169-175 and I carry it 290 at best (typically around 280). I'm about 1-2 up, -3 path, -1 face angle, 2700-3100 spin, 8-10 launch.
Based on the quick tempo and high club and ball speeds you should consider 6.5 to start. You have low spinning head and low loft. Numbers really are not that bad! Possibly IZ or DI shafts as they are high launch low spin. - Thomas

I went to test a Tour AD Di-6 Stiff after your comment and the numbers were phenomenal: the AD Di-6 must have loaded better for me, I was up 3-4 which helped reduced the spin loft window so I was averaging 2400rpm and increased launch to around 11-12 resulting in average carry of 299 and total of 311. My gamer was giving me 284/291 despite similar ball speed but at a spin rate of 3000+... Bottom line: you know your stuff! Thank you for producing amazing content and sharing your knowledge with all of us.
I get a ball speed in the 160's and i love the hzrdus red cb. 10 yd dispersion. So, its NOT just about speed.

Which one of the stock shaft will produce a high lunch and low spin in the 55 to 60 grams weight in regular stiffness?
That is going to be player dependent but I would start with the Tensei Blue and go from there - Thomas
Dynamic loft and angle of attack will determine launch and spin more than shaft characteristics will. I do agree it's always player specific. Sometimes a slightly heavier shaft will help launch higher for a player who delivers a lower dynamic loft (10.5 stated at say 8.75) because the player cannot rotate the head as well vertically.
What type of shaft would I need if my driver swing speed is 95 mph. I also have difficulty getting height using my driver.
You may need change your swing before deciding on a shaft. I have a similar situation. 1. Move ball forward if needed. 2. Tee the ball a bit higher. 3. Work on your shoulders. Need to be tilted instead of turning. Makes a huge difference getting a proper height.
i got a tensei blue 55gram stiff. would a ligher shaft give me more speed?
Yes, however, you will lose control being more whippy. Speed is one thing, hitting the centre of the club face is more important.
Trial and error to find the balance but always start with the lightest...
I find it funny that 2nd Swing sees GD shaft a great value at $200 upcharge but foget that then the stock shaft is dropped so it ends up costing tha same as it would from a 3rd party..

gd is a great value at $200 considering the ventus is a $310 upcharge and both shafts retail for $380
Great value as the shafts are usually $300 extra, you can purchase them just by themself for more so it is saving you some $ - Thomas
I’m sure there are tons of 10+ handicapper’s out there buying the TSR that will want a $400 upgraded shaft. Lol
I bought a TS3 driver right after the TSR came out and it’s been the best choice I made. Tensei Blue 60G S. Surprise surprise, I’m still a +15 😅
Only $200 for those three Graphite Design options. Results are player dependent and there are many non-upcharge options that work too - Thomas
