you are the third avaition vlogger that has flown into Logan. Two things in common with them, extremely long taxi time and high ramp and fuel fees. Still, I would love to fly there one time! Thank you!

Nice job Martin! I've been watching your vids for a while, and your experience shows. : )
Love the ATIS for KBVY! "PaaPaaaa" LOL! And love the accents (I have family from there.): "landing & depahting runway 34" & "Altimetah 29.97". Speaking of which, I believe Boston Tower actually said "How about, turn right heading 3-6-0 for now." (@19:27)

Yes, now that I listen to it again, I think you are correct about "turn right heading 360".
I must admit, on this video I had a harder-than-usual time with the ATC captions. The message was always clear, but the exact words were sometimes hard to decipher.
And yes, I had to chuckle when I heard the BVY Tower guy say PaaPaaa! :-)

Approximately 18 minute mark in Deutsche landing lights and strobe on as per checklist? Another very interesting video Martin.

Hi Alan, the comment you are referring to is a note to my brother-in-law that we have the landing light and strobes still left to turn on after we enter the runway.

Interesting - you were cleared for takeoff about 15 seconds after the passenger jet before you, without any mention of wake turbulence.

Another great video and very informative. You're getting closer to my neighborhood. Portland is another 30 minutes away. Ever been to KPWM? If you're ever up here, I can point ya' to a slew of great places to see the sights and eat.

Thanks, Matt. I have not been to KPWM yet, but I'd love to return to the northeast sometime soon if possible. Just need more vacation time for all these fun trips! :-)

Sir that was a long ride to 33L. How much fuel was burned just for that? Could that have been avoided by the airport?
But once you took off the view was awesome. I could have identified certain notable places cause I once visited Boston. Keep taking us places and continue to have safe flights. Guyana.

Taxi often takes a long time at these large airports - it's part of the experience, and in a way part of the fun (for me at least).
Think about it this way: after paying a lot of money for the privilege of landing at KBOS, I want to get something in return. :-)

I wish I had saved my bill from there, absolutely ridiculous. I got gas at $7.50 which waived a couple of the fees but still

excellent video! I'm a 250 hour PP planning a trip into KBOS next month and had one question on the video? On take off ATC requested a turn to 360, why did you make the turn so low? looked like you turned at 500'?

    • @martinpauly
      @martinpauly  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

landon sock Hello Landon. I made the turn so low (way below 500 feet) because the previous departure (a jet) departed just second before me, and I figured I’d reduce the risk of encountering wake turbulence by turning away from the runway as early as possible.

Wake turbulence avoidance and opening up the corridor faster to get another departure out with minimal delay.

Did Logan once.....Ugh those fees.... KOWD from now on

Yes, Logan will probably be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, because of the fees. By far the most expensive Class B airport I've been to in the US, and I've been to a few.
