Solid breakdown. I have an old Mirrodin standard precon (Little Bashers) that I’ve improved over the years and I want to turn it in to a commander deck. Add Green and Arahbo and I’m set!
Pulled this up while re-sleeving my Arahbo pre-con after finally making changes to it. I had Mirari's Wake in my hand right as you named it, lol. A lot of cool ideas here, thanks.
I played against a mean Arahbo stax list. You really feel the pressure of a 5/5 feline when you can only play one spell a turn, can't use mana rocks, and everything etbs tapped.
That's epic! It seems like there's three main ways to build Arahbo. Equipments, Tokens or like this. I prefer this build since we can get cheap cats out quicker than producing tokens and hit hard fast.
Since I really want to built an Arahbo deck, I really do like this deck idea. I was just wondering about if there is enough card draw? There is not a lot in it besides the 2 enchantments? How do you wife feel about the card draw? I like it and will mostlikely build it. Cheers
You could work in some more card draw. I have Kutzil, but haven't found a spot for it yet. There are a lot of ways to thin the deck and a lot of tutors though, so it hasn't been too bad!
Hello, what are your thoughts on Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar and Sovereign Okinec Ahau? Both in my opinion do a great job - Kutzil provides protection and card draw on a Cat body and Okinec Ahau further buffs other creatures (aside from lords in my build I use cheap 2 mana enchantments that give my creatures +1/+1, which made this cat a perfect addition to my list). Also, what do you think about using thematic card Contest of Claws and recently spoiled Topiary Stomper with basic landcycling for 2 mana? Thanks in advance for your response :)
I have Kutzil, but didn’t add it yet. May take out Elder Gargoroth to make it pure Cat tribal. Okinec is sooo good in this deck and I really like the idea of the sorcery fight spell. It would do really well!
I was looking for my first commander deck and this one seems really great but it is too expensive for me at the moment 😭. If I cut cards like Mana Crypt, Jeweled Lotus, Ancient Tomb could this still be good or is just not worth it trying to make a budget version?
Absolutely! I've just been tweaking this deck for years, so I keep adding those expensive cards as I pull them etc. In most games, I don't run into those cards. The BEST card in this deck is the Infect cat.
I've built a hybrid tribal cats/eqipments deck, in which you can swap the commanders (Nazhan), but still Arabho with that eminence ability is stronger. (I've just upgraded the precon which already was a hybrid)
@@MTGAlpha The problem with Planeswalkers in commander is that you're forcing yourself on the defensive to keep them alive. This is a deck designed for creatures, and if you decide to play Planeswalkers, you're removing the main strength of the deck.

Thanks! Building my first Arahbo. 9:08 I wish that card had ranch :(

That's awesome! I love whenstuff like that happens :D thanks for watching!

That’s just brutal 😆 Arahbo really puts the pressure on especially in 1v1
I got the 2017 precon from a trade with a friend I'm definitely upgradeing it with most of this.

Interested in hearing what you'd adjust with the new WoE cards.
Is there anything that you'd consider adding? Maybe one of the virtues?
Virtue of Loyalty would be the best in this deck! The relentlessness of the cats is what makes this specific build so powerful

Idk if you will see this message but how do you think this deck would hold up now a days I kind of want to play it

@@MTGAlpha Thank you! :)
The only problem I have with this deck is that it basically builds itself and leaves very little room for self-expression and originality.
Yep. It’s simply cats and that’s why I love it. Low cost cats specifically. Lean away from lifegain and auras for more synergy

I love that! I have a couple decks that I can easily swap commanders. So much fun@@Arkzard
Add doubling season O.o
The recent reprints didn't help the cost much ... I could use maybe one more copy
@MTGAlpha the cheapest version is right now but yeah it's still over the $30
@@franjero7207 oh, idk why I thought it was still $45/50! Good price to pull. It peaking at $80+ was a little insane
@@MTGAlphacut the blind obedience for it. Pretty sure you can’t run obedience because it has a black mana symbol on it.
@@bubblehulk7647 I did end up taking that out of the deck list, but extort actually doesn't affect a card's color identity
Too many Planeswalkers.
Nah, they synergize too well in this deck

I was pretty into this list until we got to Elder Gargaroth. Not a cat! Booo
This deck can probably do without it at this point! He's served his purpose :D Just added Hungry Lynx!
