In Loving Memory, Closet Witch, Godfuck and Party Hats on a list together is not the level of taste I was expecting
Gotta diversify that taste- spice of life
@@maxxisntboredoddly large amount of Iowa representation on this list with In Loving Memory, Closet Witch and Elaine Elaine’s vocalist being from Iowa
@@subpar7404 interesting! I just find the bands and listen. Iowa just has that energy
well both godfuck and in loving memory are gonna be performing at dilly dally fest this year
I saw party hats live in La with vs self, they were super good
i love how straight up this video is
i appreciate how straightforward this was even if it felt like i was being read out instructions before every snippet of the band was played
Thanks I figure I'll let ya'll form opinions and learn more about the bands if you wanna
Glad you enjoyed
sugar wounds and elaine elaine are deep cuts--glad you're spreading the word
salute thanks
This is 'Me Subscribing'... 'Me subscribing' sounds like this...
Thanks for the links! If you make another one of these you should throw them in a playlist! That would be amazing!
Thanks a lot!
A raw ass video about some raw ass music
Literally walking back to music I listened to in 2007
Mis sueños son de tu adiós
Also godfuck's gotta be my favorite
They do rip.
had the fun experience of playing a show with and meeting godfuck cool music and very sweet dudes :)
That's epic! Glad to hear they are cool. They make great tunes
Sound like this = 🎶🗣️🗣️🗣️
YO LOM THATS US
Being old as hell (42) and growing up in the scene late to early 2000s I was super into PG99, saetia, Joshua fit for battle, the locust, off! and all the early Skramz ( what we called Screamo then ) It was nice stumbling across this and hearing bands I haven't heard.
Wait so is the term “screamo” not used anymore? I grew up listening to stuff like Orchid, Circle Takes the Square, Duck Duck Goose, etc in the early-mid 2000s but stopped listening until recently and got confused from all the people throwing the term “skramz” around
this is the good shit
@@ViciousFirearmsPeople got fed up with people conflating this with metalcore/deathcore bands which also get called screamo, so people started calling it skramz.... But most people still call it screamo when talking to people who know what this genre is
Skramz sounds so lame!!
@@ViciousFirearmsrebel against it.
yo im in the lom photo!
Woohoo!
Holy shit reddotrecordings spotted in the wild???
Party hats oh nah bro not even a year later rip
this list is insane man! found this video searching closet witch, a band i found today. I'm digging Healing Powers, Elaine Elaine, Kuroi Jukai, and Sugar Wounds.
Glad to hear! Enjoy
Yo, the godfuck pic is from their set at Al Dios ( RIP to the spot) in Providence. Awesome to see that
im going to subscribe based on watching this one no nonsense video. good vibe. haha love it.
follow up because i finished the video: closet witch and kurio jukai are officially on my listen more of. elaine elaine, flesh parade also seem totally brutal and excellent, cant wait to check them out more. a lot of these bands like healing powers, nuvolascura terry green got that good mathy borderline midwest emo energy. i like that too. you did a good job getting together a variety of rare and different scramy sounds.
Thanks a lot Jasper! I'm glad you enjoy, welcome welcome
Subbed. You helped me remember some old bands i used to be obsessed with back in high school
Thanks! Will do
Go check the Lazarus plot and breakwater. Some of the most beautiful music ive ever listened
I'll check those out, thanks!
Breakwater is quite OG
Setsuko is fantastic
Agreed- they rip
Thanks, Maxxdrums!
Welcome!

You're welcome! If you are apart of the project- just want to say ya'll rip.
@@maxxisntbored i am indeed! thanks again heheheh. btw i just released two new songs!! bet you'll love em
@@enzoraffler of course. I think I've heard one of them, I'll have to go listen! Stoked.
Crazy recs, very appreciated.
Welcome!
Our eyes go blank tonight are local to me seen them so many times they’re so good
Knumears, Ostraca, Votive,Hundreds of Au, Hawak, Frail Body, Massa Nera, Gillian Carter and Infant Island are also really solid bands.
I love how I can see my friends in the party hats pic :)
i love this.
Thank you!
Tilde is another awesome band you guys should check out
Going to see godfuck this Friday in SD 🤘
Saetia and Lovin Memory are awesome
one eyed god prophecy, song of zarathustra, raein, the crimson curse, swing kids

te quiero mucho mis sueños son de tu adios
Love lost but not forgotten was killer
I love the deadpan
Thank you
thanks for putting me on to some cool tunes man :)
welcome! enjoy!~
LETTERS OF MARQUE MENTION LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO
Nuvolascura is the best one on this list
Nice that's an opinion
@@maxxisntbored that’s the internet 😝
Hell yes man, thanks for the video. I've been getting back to listening to a lot more skramz lately because I'm getting a bit fatigued by overly produced metal bands and need something a bit more raw. I've heard of/listened to several of these bands and have a handful to check out.
Best bands broth on my thinkigs
right
Oh man this takes me back to high school/early college. I love this. I should upload my old skramz band from 2005, South of No North
In the meantime, check out Omaha’s Robots Don’t Cry. They were basement-show legends who made a mythic rumble in concrete walled laundry rooms and rec centers around the Midwest. Their stuff is on TH-cam but it’s not the eastern European ska band of the same name
im in omaha, gonna have to check out some of their stuff, got a link or anything?
thz u 4 the elaine shoutout❤❤❤
You are/know Elaine Elaine? Of course- really great tunes
@@maxxisntbored yo yes that was my old band! my new project is called paperfire !
You make great music. I'll check the new project! Wishing you a fruitful 2024@@liamwmv
@@maxxisntbored thank you friend you too!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elaine reminds me so much of We Came With Broken Teeth
Sick choices, you ever heard of the skramz band edith pike, id recommend checking them out
Thank you! I have heard of them, but I'll double back as per your rec.
ELAINE ELAINE MENTIONED
Just stumbled across your channel, every listen to bright calm blue? Asymmetry Set is their best album imho. but both are good.
Hey! I haven't, I'll make sure to check them out. Thanks!
Crazy deep cuts
i fucking love sugar wounds
september skramz
Right
there's a lot of good shit on this list, appreciated
Muchas gracias❤🎉
de nada
Rad, got more bands to listen to
Right on! Thank you
i like a band called brahm im 80% sure theyre screamo
im just kinda new to the genre so im a bit unsure but i like the video
bro you’re acting like my English teacher
I am a teacher that's probably why Harvey.
Thanks for watching bro
Good list. I recommend Leer.
Thanks! Cool, I'll check Leer out.
hey.. its september.. which means its time to listen to septemberistheonlytimeidontthinkofyou
check out Living Conditions, great band from Omaha
Healing powers kinda reminds me of widowdusk
You should check out Othiel
Good rec's!
Thanks!
Why no Saetia?!?!?!?! Missing out if you haven't heard them.
everyone's heard saetia lol
@@andyelevenfr
Terry green sounds fuckin rad
Surprised to see Kuroi Jukai and Elaine Elaine because while they pretty much sound exactly like a poorly produced skramz band they are actually very much a way more hardcore punk genre called noisegrind
And Catalyst...
I will, thanks!
Healing powers 😁
Great band!
FLESH PARADE 😨😨😨😨
🤓
Yo check out I don’t want to know why the caged bird sings
Maybe this genre doesn't suck..
Valid
my flex is im friends with the singer of elaine elaine
You forgot to include the world's first Pre post-skramz band BoneChip
No I didn't
@@maxxisntbored Oh my bad, peace and love-Ringo
Love this shit dude 🤟
i love skramz or what us old men call screamo, but the reason im commenting is the band godfuck i never heard there was a noise grind band from my area od detroit called god fuck off, they were cooler
Bro, could u explain why the community is bothered by the term skramz like if it were derogatory to the genre?
I haven't encountered that, maybe it's just who you talk to about it. Getting mad over what people call your music is a waste of time/energy. Genres are made up as are the names of said genres.
It's all a time-waste game don't sweat the suckers
basically skramz became the name for the more OG “real” screamo bands. it’s basically used to differentiate those corporate hot topic bands to bands like these. it basically started as a joke but it became its own thing. some people call it screamo some emo violence or just skramz
sadly John Cota doesn't have spotify
Hadn't heard of them, very nice. and that is sad 😥
ok but I need a boyfriend
Where i hate sex ?
on a different list with more obvious picks
the term "screamo" is a misnomer created by boomers
Skramz is a stupid name, i mean it sounds real lame.
Even more stupid that you have to put what it actually is in parentheses.
The bands are sick though...
Also- listen to Charles Bronson or The Locus, with a bit of Moss Icons' first record for old school screamo influence.
They are, after all, the bands that started it.
Wow sounds like trying to scream but don’t know the technique and destroying your vocal chords kinda music I’ll just throw it in the dumpster
That's cool, it's not for everyone! Thanks for letting us know how much you don't like it
MSSDTA GANG🔥
yoooooooo
