I appreciate the attention to detail on how Zach’s kit is set up, but I’d like to argue that there’s not one specific way to set up your drum kit to make what he plays necessarily easier. I’ve seen drummers with their kits set up in the craziest ways that absolutely rip, and I’ve seen drummers pull out rulers and suck ass, everyone’s different and it’s practice more than anything! It should also be noted that all genres of music have drum kits that can get set up in different ways, if you have a mega death metal kit, you probably aren’t playing math rock, if you have a floor tom and a bass drum, you probably aren’t playing Rush lol

I love japanese bands mentioned in the video. Check out Gauge Means Nothing - a really cool skreamo with a mix of black metal, unfortunately disbanded a long time ago but you can find their music on youtube.

Please listen to the band “Sesame” and their debut album “ I will turn, I will, I will”. they are skramz/metal/screamo band, I love everything about them and they’ve slowly became my favorite band. they will also be releasing a new song jan 1st of the new year.

Great playing man, and you do you of course but I do think there is merit to adjusting your drums in a way that is more ergonomic.

Sounds sick! 😝 Just a heads up (excuse the pun) but if you keep the Tom at that sort of angle you’ll go through heads faster as the stick is essentially stabbing the head. Making the angle flatter will also help with hit control as the side of the tip (of the drumstick) will be hitting the head rather than just the top. If it works for you, then f*** it go for it man but just something to consider. 🙂 sounds awesome regardless dude!
