@@BadGuyGoodAudioReviews Could you possibly give some examples of the earlier (pre-2020) collaborations, by any chance? That's quite intriguing. The first collab I became aware of and the earliest one known to me in general is Crinacle x Fearless Dawn. But 2020 was the year I first got into the hobby. 😅 I found myself growing out of something that could be roughly called Crinacle sound towards your tastes with time spent in this hobby. I can't call myself a mud lover yet, but I'm close to being a mud enjoyer) I'd love to see a Mark Ryan Collab some day. I think it would be something in the middle (which I think I'd love) and very interesting in general.
I really appreciate HBB's focus on drivers. There's hundreds of 1DD iems but the quality of driver and tuning matters a lot. This set seems a really good contender for top tier 1DD
As a big fan of the Aful Magicone (which I know - not your preference with the single BA bass and the very neutral tuning), it's super cool to see 3D printed resonator tech being explored with other drivers. Congrats to Kiwi and Crin for making this tech more accessible. I always appreciate your reviews, even though we don't have the same tuning preferences. Your descriptions of MUSIC is what sets you apart from the standard "more airy, more authority, more transparency" vagueness that permeates most reviews. It allows people like me (who prefer a different sound) to be able to get a lot of mileage out of your work. Kudos and much respect, as always!
I second this video, collab has been anything but helping this hobby to grow. I mean once your preferences are align wirh certain reviewer, rather than just blind buy without trying, that said reviewer is actually doing you a favor for this hobby. I'm not a hardcore for this hobby but I knew that once you reach a certain level of hardcorenest and passion for this or any hobby, you'll end up making your own thing to suit our own preference. Collab is just a great way to achieve this and share the joy with the community
@@quochuynguyen764 i would say this IEM is closer to harman than your average neutral with bass boost, if you look the graph it looks kinda similar with Chopin
The collabs definitely make the hobby better by bringing their insights to the manufacturers. We had KZ pumping out the same thing every month for a while, but now we have a lot more variety and competition.
The collaborations reflect the taste of a reviewer, his community and ultimately give the opportunity to generate approaches and ideas different from those on the market. They give variety.
This is collab at the best, a prove of concept, pushing the hobby for the better. I'd expect this resonator as an analog frequency adjustment to be more commonly implemented in other later releases. Good job to Crin, and thank you for the call out about people bitchin about collabs in the end!
I'm a bass guy myself. Not a basshead, but I need the bass to be represented in a fair way - the way it's meant to be. I may not agree with you all the time, but I totally trust your honesty all the time.
I haven't got a collab IEM yet, but it makes sense that someone who loves their music, and reviews audio products all the time, can have input on the design and tuning of a new product. I don't see how that can be harming the hobby.
It's great to see companies trying new things and making them work with the help of collaborations from people who know the hobby. Kiwi Ears has been pretty solid for a year two now and kind of came out of nowhere. Thanks bro for keeping us up to date and putting those who hate for no reason other than their sad existence and self interest. Pride and self interest above all else are terrible things that can destroy a person with wrongful pride being one of the original sins. Hope you and the family are doing great, I bet little man's growing like a weed. Take care and God Bless...
Colabs are VERY necessary because you guys know how to tune way better than I do!! And at the end of the day, the reviews will suss it all out. So... when you know the reviewer and his flavor, it's a yard stick that I can accurately measure a particular product by... SO THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO 🙏🙏
Does replying to someone else's comment count as commenting? To the topic at hand, well said. As a newcommer to the hobby my only hot-take on colabs is how to identify bias when it comes to the reviews of said sets, as many reviewers are friends with others (or maybe the opposite). Knowing what the collabs music pref./goal behind said set is helpful too (when that is obtainable). Thanks for talking straight and not beating around the "PC" bush. Breath of fresh air. Also /props for voicing being on the spectrum.... /respect!
Great review thank you, I totally agree collaborations are good for the hobby, they have helped me get started in the hobby at a very affordable price.
Love all these collabs coming out. As someone new to the hobby it's fun to feel like there's always new gear to try out. Thanks for the review and the giveaway!
I love the new tech coming down to the lower end of IEMs. It makes it far more accessible to a wider audience and enhances people's enjoyment of music.
I just ordered the 500LM a few days ago... Here we go spending money again! I love Kiwi Ears products and daily drive the Orchestra Lites, so these are a must buy for me!
Yo I'm hella excited to try this, this looks genuinely cool. Fingers crossed you get your hands on this tech to play with lol lol love the cup segment, I've always welcomed collabs, I doubt big companies just halt everything to do one collab and are being held back.
I have to say that this advancement in technology got iems is fascinating to me. To have the ability to have such a tuck with one driver! I’d love to give it a listen for sure.
@ Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews - I would love for the Singolo’s to be my introductory to iem’s. I just recently discovered this audio genre and am VERY EXCITED to dive in! Great review and thanks for posting so quickly after release. I have subscribed and am looking forward to seeing more reviews.
Cool to see the innovation crin was able to put in his new set. Can’t wait to see how you use the radiator for your own personal tunings in the future!
After the EA500 LM I feel like I don't need any other single DDs in my collection. It's the pinnacle for me and my library. But thanks for doing this video because I was genuinely curious. The only IEM I have of Crin's is the KZ CRN which stopped working after about 4 weeks and had it's own controversy.
I understand the complaints about collabs and potential conflict of interest issues (don't usually agree, but I get it) I really don't understand the hate on the products themselves, though. At worst, they're just providing more options/competition. At best they can really bring new flavor to the market. Right now, my favorite IEMs are Zero Red, Hexa, and Kailua. Two out of three ain't bad for the collabs.
Based HBB take. Great simple review on what the singolo is: we all know what the tuning is more or less, the new tech in it is interesting and the pricing is good. The cup section was funny and the callout was very much needed considering how much flacc crin is getting recently for merely stating his opinions and having a collab.
The Kars tech inside is interesting. Looks like a good value set and the shells are beautiful as always. I've always liked how kiwi ears designs the look of their shells
This is like the Aful Magic 1 (which I didn't like at all), but they've done it with a DD instead of a BA. I like that they're doing this on a DD instead. Frequencies are how frequently the sign wave goes through full oscillation and they have a length/distance (wavelength). The higher the frequency the shorter the wavelength, because it occurs more frequently. What confuses me is 350Hz is 0.98 meters long. The sign wave is at peak energy at 1/4 and 3/4 wavelength. So 0.25 meters in length. The waveguide in the shell that zigzags is very short. Only about 8mm long before each turn, by looking at it in the image. So I'm confused how this would filter out (cause a back reflection) of that frequency? The other thing that the waveguide does is create a longer path for part of the signal to travel along. So it would create more width for the note timing by delaying part of the signal (like an echo), bringing it slightly out of phase, but only delay it by 0.7 milliseconds (0.0007 seconds). So I don't think that's what it's doing either. I'm confused??? Can anyone explain how that really short waveguide is working to separate frequency please? Is it sealed at one end? Crin said it's like a Hemholz resonator, which means it would be single ended.
Singolo is the latest tech and it sounds pretty dope www.linsoul.com/products/kiwi-ears-x-crinacle-singolo

Thank you...was from the bottom of my heart
Yep, that was gold, though I don't exactly agree 100% with everything that was said. And the joke with the first cup was 👌

hexa is probably still better in separation and micro nuances, but it's significantly more boring without EQ
Take out the tuning filters from the hexa if you want improved sound well you can keep them to where you can put them back in too don't tear them up
