The host unfortunately doesn't talk about my favorite version of a red dot, and arguably the best...Trijicon, offers red dot scopes, where the dot or chevron triangle, is made of Tritium. It absorbs sunlight rays / energy and charges itself up, keeping it powered for roughly 6 or more months..I've had the gun out of the box, exposed to sunlight, and charging itself while deer / slug hunting in the fall. Put it back in the case, kept it in the attic in complete darkness all winter, then come spring turkey hunting season, gone up to the attic, taken it out of the case, and curious if it was still charged/glowing...taken it out of the case in the attic, put the gun to shoulder, and sure enough, that chevron was glowing as bright as the day I put it away. Its a premium product, with premium manufacturing....You do pay for it. but I've had min on my shotgun for 25 years, and it still impresses me everytime I use it....Also, the lenses, one in front of the internal cheveron, and one behind, are exposed surfaces, and if you cheap out on your purchase, and get a sight made out of plastic, inevitable it will scratch from even dust in the air, and you will notice it, especially when the suns bright. Trijicons use ultra hard crystal glass, that will never get any surface scratching. Spend the money once, enjoy a superior product for life, you'll be glad you did !!!
