    Pulisic needs to stay at AC Milan at least till after the World Cup. He plays all the time and he is performing at a really good level. He also looks happy, Italy have treated him really good.

    • @wagfinpis
      @wagfinpis 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Key point is Pulisic must absolutely stay at Milan through to the World Cup. ¿After that, Pulisic needs to decide based on:
      - Is Pulisic going to be satisfied in retirement knowing that he became a highly proficient to good player on a top team, in a top 5 league?
      or
      - In retirement will he feel like the Premier League was the ultimate measure of his abilities?
      *I feel like Christian Pulisic can experience great heights in a special career making a family at AC MILAN... but I think
      winning silverware in The Prem is an externally universal galvanizing establishment of the absolute minimum level of your legacy excellence worldwide for all time.

      @@wagfinpisNope… Serie A is the most competitive league in the world the last few years. EPL is good because of the diversity, but let’s relax. Not many English win champions or are considered bigger than Milan. Not one team in the EPL is close to the legacy of Milan as a matter of fact. I think Anglos need to stop it with this EPL and british nonsense … English never win anything for the majority of time. Forza Milan

      Nope. Messi never played EPL and nobody cares. It's about the clubs. If you can, much better to go to Real Madrid or Barcelona. But Manchester City or Liverpool too. Definitely not Chelsea or Manchester United.

      @@cyanwaters EPL seems to have an American bias as well. Our guys seem to go over, play well for a bit, have one off night and then they get written off. Sure a few guys have managed to make a career out of it, but, off the top of my head, they all had bald heads and wore gloves.

      Watching US play Jamaica gave a strange sensation when Pulisic scored from a McKennie assist then Weah scored from a Musah assist and in less than a week they will play on opposite sides in a big derby.

    I agree with Tim with the idea of implementing new ideas and current concepts being played in world football. One thing both Tim and LD missed out though is that Poch was playing Robinson as an inverted full back when the team had possession. I think that was very smart and Robinson seems very adjusted in that position. I’m guessing when Dest comes back he will be played as a wing back sticking to that back 3 in possession. That’s a concept that Liverpool is doing right now. Great to see it implemented by the team

Question for Tim, what did you feel about the press you got for the guy who tried to hug you at the airport? It was crazy that it got so much press, and I felt probably like you did, like who tries to hug someone they don’t know? Your insight will be some that some of us will never experience. I know the federation won't do it, but it would be nice to hold the Sept and Oct camps in Europe and play UEFA nations in friendlies, which would save our players alot of travel since most of the team is there, and get some fixtures against decent European nations. With the congested schedule as is, it would be nice to see. Maybe work out something with Earnie Stewart and PSV to have a home away from home.

    I like the show dynamic bc you have two USMNT legends who had completely opposite club careers. One a premier league great and the other an mls great. So I’m looking forward to hearing perspectives. But what I can’t get over is how they didn’t mention tanner tessman was once when reviewing the camp and especially the second leg. I’ve been watching our country for 30 years and 20 from a pretty analytical view point and I’ve never seen a central defensive midfielder take on the true identity of a regista the way he did. Yes of
    Course it’s Jamaica and not Germany or France, but I garuntee he perfoms almost at the same efficiency level against those big sides bc his game is predicated on IQ not athletism and now with Weston and pulisic and Weah all
    Hitting immense form we may have found the deep lying 6 that can unlock very tough opponents.

  • @SpaceCityFutsal
    @SpaceCityFutsal 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Here's my question: As I look at the majority of our USMNT roster it seems like most of them grew up or played youth soccer in other countries. Here the pay to play system isnt always about competition and the best for our childrens development but about doing the minimum to bring in the most money. In houston texas there is such much rivalry and not focus on development. MLS clubs have home grown player rights and they dont even have to train the players to block other clubs picking them up. I am currently working as the Director of advancement at Nexus Futbol Academy where kids recieve high level education and also receive 3 hours of soccer training a day from Brazilian and Argentina Coaches. Now the problem is that our students develop better than anyone in the city but then where do they play to continue to develop? Their tactical knowledge and technical abilities are superior to most in the city and they have to play with lower skilled players and against lower skilled teams. Some of our players move internationally to get that high level of competition and others just stay and go to the dynamo academy here or MLS next clubs. What do you think is necessary to grow our talent pool in the US as what i've seen is we have great players until 13 but after that our system is flawed and if you don't move overseas we will struggle to develop talent that will compete on an international level.
    Love to hear your thoughts and if i'm completely wrong here!

      The large clubs and MLS clubs need to create true youth feeder teams. So that a talented kid can enter programs such as yours via open tryouts and/or invitation to audition. The walls that severely limit access to Academy programs need to be torn down ...keep the dream of a soccer career open to the youth players.

    Nations League eats up so many people opportunities to get quality teams. This is why the Copa was so important and all that was blown with the subpar group exit. I was going to subscribe because I've always been a huge fan of Tim Howards, but I won't subscribe here after seeing Tim's public criticism of Pulisic. Pulisic is the undisputed best USMNT player and deserves more respect than a public rebuke from a USMNT alum. Maybe Tim thinks it serves as a message to USMNT players at large and served a purpose, I don't know. I don't know Tim's mind, and Tim doesn't know Pulisic's mind, but apparently, he does and felt it necessary to publicly rebuke Pulisic.

      @@Jay57867 Different perspectives I guess, Clint's opinion is completely different. Is he a bad coach because he pushed players to challenge themselves? or wanting to play a more dynamic style. I remember the days the US use to play like they were in the NFL, 9 guys defending with one long ball to the side and an attempt to score. When JK came in, he changed the style of play and challenged the team to play overseas, going to Italy, Germany, England and winning. He also put his name on the line for players to get a chance at clubs in Europe, making calls and such.

    I just recently subscribed to this podcast because I have been a huge supporter of Howard and Donovan throughout my youth but after seeing Tim’s recent comments about Pulisic for supporting Trump I am absolutely disgusted and deeply disappointed in you for what you said about a man peacefully expressing support for our president who many Americans support. Why would you attack the USMNT best player of all time just because you don’t agree with him politically? He has been nothing but a class act and you should be ashamed of yourself for trashing him like that. Permanently unsubscribing.

      Dude, calm down. I could name two worse coaching performances for the USMNT: 1. Steve Sampson, 2. Gregg Berhalter, 3. Bruce Arena (SECOND STINT). No way in hell any of these were better than Klinnsman.
      Edit: I actually named three.

      @inelhuayocan_aci He was! Klinsmann cut our best player from the 2014 World Cup.
      Klinsmann destroyed our style of play, leaving the team extremely inconsistent.
      Klinsmann was the main culprit for the failure of the 2018 WCQ for all these reasons.

      That's totally not true. Landon did the best in all of the fitness test in the camp before the World Cup. Plus, he was back way before the World Cup. He was also too good to get left off and we would've been better with him.

      He got left off because he retired and wanted to just come and go as he pleased, skipping over everyone else who put in time. That’s the lazy part. He didn’t deserve anything, he didn’t earn it.

    Landon Donovan is so annoying to listen to. He constantly makes things up like the way he started this when he made up some twitter talk. I remember a few months ago he said that the problem in America is coaching because he know youth coaches who said “this coach I’m playing today is my arch nemesis, we need to win.” Like bro nobody talks like that SHUT UP. Also comparing Klinsmann to Pooch is actually crazy. I know he was a good player for the US and I can appreciate him talking about the actual play but STOP MAKING THINGS UP.

    Tim, speak into the tip of the mic, like you did 7 days ago, in your podcast. You can hear the difference if you go back to that episode. I am a huge fan! I’m also a musician and recording engineer. Those mics are made to be used with the tip towards the sound source. The way you are using it here works for some mics but not this one, in this application. You are mic’ing the room like this, which means we hear the reflection of your voice off the wall.
