Why all the complaints,? what the guy did was nothing to do with football. The RED card was justified, The old days of kicking andchopping are gone and outlawaed. He chopped the player down when the ball had clearly gone. There is challenging for the ball which is part of the game and then there was that. if you think that is acceptable, then lets all the players do it and lets have a free for all game like the old days.

There has been many controversies surrounding referee Michael Oliver over the years, and he is one of the most controversial referees in the Premier League, dishing out more red cards to Arsenal players than yellow cards in every match in every season for which he referees. He has been heavily criticized for his decisions, with many Arsenal fans accusing him of bias. Oliver has also been accused of inconsistency, with his performance often varying depending on the teams he is officiating.
AT the moment Lewis-Skelley is facing a 3 match ban at a time when Arsenal have half a team out. Michael Oliver knows this, which is why that red card came out so fast.
The fact its Michael Oliver again needs to be investigated but the boys club wont as they even confirmed it was the correct decision when that wolves player was 10x more of a red card then lewis skelly. It's infuriating as a fan cus its the same ref and we would of dropped points cus of the fine margins from HIS BAD CALL
Sorry but it doesn’t take a lot of digging to discover Oliver has a CLEAR axe to grind with Arsenal. He’s given us over a hundred yellows and now I believe 8 reds. That’s more than ANY OTHER CLUB.
I knew these referees would outdo themselves one day. Their past dodgy decisions have always been beclouded by some dodgy rules that people found confusing and hard to interpret. But not this one. 🤣🤣
If PGMOL want people to respect refs more, they need to investigate guys like Michael Oliver. The amount of questionable decisions he’d made to disadvantage Arsenal is too significant to disregard. The bizarre Martinelli double yellow. Not sending off Kovacic at the Emirates last season (he’s never sent off a City player). Trossard at the Etihad. Now MLS. I’m sure I’m forgetting some. Too much to disregard.
Double yellow in one passage of play to Martinelli. Seems like it was him that sent off Gabriel Maghaeles on a couple of dodgy yellows against City and ignored a pretty clear pen against Odegaard a couple of seasons back. After a while, it's no longer a coincidence...
I’m an arsenal fan and I’m sorry it’s a red. If it was the other way round we would all be crowding around the ref. Let’s stop making a meal out of it.
No one else is ever sent for that. You can guarantee that no one else will get sent off for the same offence in the future. The same as all of Arsenal's red cards this season, as well as the penalty given in the Brighton game. All of the decisions were unprecedented. The worst thing in all cases, the same offences were committed by other teams shortly after, (or shortly before) which all went unpunished.
It was the archetypal tactical trip we see a hundred times across the leagues every week, and its easiest decision in football - yellow card and carry on. Its maybe the only thing all referees are consistent on, all the time - but Michel Oliver likes to innovate when its Arsenal.
Certain referees never get decisions overturned, because the referees manning VAR are below them in the pecking order. VAR will never work while it is operated by the same people officiating on the pitch.
Highly experienced Oliver giving a Red for that. No check of the Var or review of his decision. It's a disgrace that this is allowed to happen. We want an enquiry
Maybe this incident should be the moment FIFA introduces Sin Bin cards where a player is sent off for a period as a penalty during a game. Not a yellow but not quite a red either.
The player and ball had gone. Skelly knew he couldn't get the ball, so he deliberately took the man, is that not cheating? Then for him to clumsily stud doen a players shin, honestly, not the worst decision in the world. The uproar is a bit too far.
Lewis-Skelly’s tackle WAS NOT a red card as it wasn’t violent conduct instead it was a tactical foul & yellow card! Gomez SHOULD have been sent off earlier for kicking the ball away when he had already been booked but no matter as super sub Calafiori scored a brilliant half volley, pure 🔥. COYG 😍
More specifically the question has to be asked about Michael Oliver’s impartiality when refereeing any Match involving Arsenal. You only have to look at the number of red cards he has given against Arsenal compared to any other side and there is definite bias, that is without looking in depth against other contentious decisions he has made against Arsenal. It’s almost as if yesterday he went out of his way to ensure Arsenal could not win the game!
If that red card decision happened with every foul like this, every premier league match would be called off by half time due to insufficient players on the field. Refereeing in the premier league is a joke and needs to be looked at. I thought V.A.R was supposed to reduce refereeing errors, but since its been introduced the refereeing errors have not only got more common, but some of the decisions and inconsistencies are rediculous.
I think most people watch games to watch play, not penalties. The player got nowhere near the ball, but stopped the play - play which clearly had the potential to go well for the other side. It deserved a red card.

@@dilan4123 Michael Oliver has given Arsenal more red cards and yellow cards than any other ref in the league since he was first hired with only Everton being second and Tottenham being third. In the same time frame he has never sent off a Manchester City player despite refereeing them 50 times. Extremely suspicious and he should be investigated.
It’s got nothing to do with Liverpool mate Oliver has given Liverpool some horrible decisions as well if anything the one team he don’t do it to is city he needs to be sacked he’s showed you can’t trust him to ref and game fairly
Oliver's payment from Abu Dhabi was just a 'legal' way of bribing him.
The numbers speak for themselves. 50 man city games refereed but not a single red.
The guy is a disgrace and having a huge negative affect on football.
The press can bash Micheal Oliver all they like, I've even heard the term unconscious bias, like how did they measure his consciousness? And VAR? How did they manage to see exactly the same lie Oliver saw even with benefit of replay and slow motion? It's the 3rd season we've been denied a fair challenge to the title, l hope history holds them mercilessly accountable.
Did Tim even watch the game 😂
Why all the complaints,? what the guy did was nothing to do with football. The RED card was justified, The old days of kicking andchopping are gone and outlawaed. He chopped the player down when the ball had clearly gone. There is challenging for the ball which is part of the game and then there was that. if you think that is acceptable, then lets all the players do it and lets have a free for all game like the old days.
@MyNumber1Hero I think you need to visit an optician.
Michael Oliver should be investigated for all these biased and dumbass decisions against Arsenal 🤷♂️
this clown said little bit harsh ,it,s called match fixing
I just laughed out loud when the ref gave a player a red card for tripping 😂😂😂
What's the point of crying about the poor officiating with var in lockstep on the joke of a red card...
Never seen such a clown decision....
ipswich scored a goal from a corner in the last minute of the game because harvey elliot was marking their tallest player for some reason, which was our first goal conceded from a corner all season, so apparently that means we might switch off at some point according to merse.
Congratulations for proving his point cos how is no one else paying attention to the tallest opposition player being marked by one of the shortest lfc players? They switched off
There has been many controversies surrounding referee Michael Oliver over the years, and he is one of the most controversial referees in the Premier League, dishing out more red cards to Arsenal players than yellow cards in every match in every season for which he referees.
He has been heavily criticized for his decisions, with many Arsenal fans accusing him of bias.
Oliver has also been accused of inconsistency, with his performance often varying depending on the teams he is officiating.
Corrupt
The clear and obvious error is michael Oliver
AT the moment Lewis-Skelley is facing a 3 match ban at a time when Arsenal have half a team out.
Michael Oliver knows this, which is why that red card came out so fast.
1:36 - Paul Merson: "They 'av got that little switch off in 'em."
In English: "They are prone to brief lapses of concentration."
He is like the bez of football
3:44 for where they actually talk about the arsenal game
Mike Dean saying the red card is harsh is enough for me to conclude that it was the correct decision
Even Mike Dean says it was not a red. Oliver and PGMOL are ridiculous.
🤣🤣
Even a former referee is not defending Oliver
Not just any former ref. It's Mike (never saw a red card against Arsenal I didn't like) Dean we're talking about here that can't defend this one.
You have been proven to be wrong bants
It was the archetypal tactical trip we see a hundred times across the leagues every week, and its easiest decision in football - yellow card and carry on. Its maybe the only thing all referees are consistent on, all the time - but Michel Oliver likes to innovate when its Arsenal.
If sky is going against Refs, you know sh1t has hit the fan
Wolves were not in the ascendency before or after either of the sendings off. 😂 Arsenal were dominating even with 10 men
Lewis-Skelly stamped on an opposing player's ankle/foot when he was running at full speed.
Michael oliver wife please stop the nonsense comment
When will Michael Oliver specifically and PGMOL in particular be investigated for corruption?
VAR got involved and upgraded the Saliba yellow to a red but they couldn't do the same for Gomes?
Certain referees never get decisions overturned, because the referees manning VAR are below them in the pecking order. VAR will never work while it is operated by the same people officiating on the pitch.
Myles has been booked before he even got in the pitch, as he was being subbed off (for time wasting tbf but everyone does it), and now this smh
Next time an Arsenal player scores a goal, they should take off their shirt to reveal a t-shirt saying "Why always us"
Blatant bias.
Might chuck it in, might chuck it in? This is a joke to them.
INCOMPETENT REFEREE.
Michael Oliver is a pathetic excuse of a referee!
Officiating is the WORST it's ever been in the Prem!
and PGMOL is NOT fit for purpose
Highly experienced Oliver giving a Red for that. No check of the Var or review of his decision. It's a disgrace that this is allowed to happen. We want an enquiry
Maybe this incident should be the moment FIFA introduces Sin Bin cards where a player is sent off for a period as a penalty during a game. Not a yellow but not quite a red either.
What is the point of VAR?
Question will be why only in EPL serie A and la liga rarely have such ref talks
After the Coote scandal I really don't trust the referees anymore , Oliver are too arrogant and the VAR room are too afraid to tell him
The player and ball had gone. Skelly knew he couldn't get the ball, so he deliberately took the man, is that not cheating?
Then for him to clumsily stud doen a players shin, honestly, not the worst decision in the world. The uproar is a bit too far.
They had it against BRENFORD???
Why cant they switch off for a second leading 4 nil?
lewis skelly is straight red. gomes was 2nd yellow. and his tackle not recognized as injury threatens
If Mike Dean (champion of all referees) is saying the call is harsh then that actually means it’s one of the worst decisions of all time.
FUN FACT: One of the 3 games that MLS will not be able to play is Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semi final.
COYG 😍
Liverpool fan here.. thats a poor decision from the onfield referee and VAR.
Managers can train & have all the game plan they like, but in the end, it's refereeing decision like this that can ruin & cost them the game...
"Jota didn't even come on" might have been difficult considering hes injuried and wasn't in the squad....
People confuse the purpose of HR and Var 😊
Oliver doing what he does best, whatever he wants, knowing he will not be sanctioned.
I'm surprised Sky Sports News hasn't taken this down yet to fall in line with PGMOL.
If MLS has a red card for that tackle, then definitely Gomes should have also had a straight red card.
I really don't know the game these people watched. I've watched so many angles and that tackle was so bad
Justice for David Coote.
Fired for not liking Liverpool.
Michael Oliver doesn't like Arsenal and is still there
Mike dean has learnt how to string a sentence together
Corrupt.
No doubt.
Too many situations to talk about against Arsenal.
@@user-vl8iw1666 sure they still won the game didn't they
@ That doesn’t matter.
The fact that the ref tried to stop it is really crazy and concerning.
@@user-vl8iw1666 what about arsenal players diving all season trying to deceive refs and time wasting tactics....any little contact on a Atsenal player and hid gone down like his been shot
@ lots of time wasting indeed.
We always get hacked..
I see loads of player rolling around.
You hate us more than you love your own team
Watch the Diomonde sending off Rangers v Dundee Utd, makes the Arsenal one look like a jail sentence
Michael Oliver is one hell of an incompetent referee if not biased!
