Next week we have 2 episodes with Herc Gomez, have a great weekend everyone!! No USMNT Abroad for the next 2 Monday but we will Bring it back December 9th and it's going to be a banger. *My mic let me down, I know the audio is fine but it's not as clean as it normally is. Still, enjoy!
Pepi needs to improve his first touch. He messed up some great opportunities because he couldn't control the ball. But his finishing is solid. Great competition for the starting 9.
Yeah a lot of people are glazing him cuz he has scored a lot recently for club and country and I’m glad his firm is improving but I think Balo is still the clear best option
Our coaching, looked effective, both in design and execution, along with eight missing starter types, and obvious growth already, I'm just a little bit jazzed. Been watching since the 1950's, I see things coming, this is the turning point here, coaching is, the difference now, much more unrestrained offense, fluid tricky and Americas, looking. God bless we've made the turn....
Excited to see what dest adds to the attacking mix. It has lowkey been a blessing in disguise he was out cuz now Scally has had time with the squad and can be a great sub to hold down a lead as he’s a better defender than dest he just can’t play offensively.
To be "back" insinuates a return. I sincerely hope with a first class manager and unprecedented talent in our roster, we can go beyond back ( "Kings of CONCACAF" ) to places we haven't been before. I do know this: with Poch in..... instead of watching with gritted teeth, I finally feel like I can breathe, actually enjoy watching this team. I imagine the players feel that x1000.
I think Scally could still be a starter when Dest is back as I see Dest fitting in better in the right wing spot Musah has been playing. Could see Musah challenging Scally to play in the right back that becomes a right center back in the possession build out position.
One thing I'm interested in seeing is how the new coaching staff can make use of the USA based players in the January camp. They are all pros who can easily follow his game plan. It will be fun to see if they can execute it in a match. It will make Jan camp much more interesting than it has been previously.
Good job getting H Gomez on your show on a regular basis. He is heavy weight in soccer journalism. You can do without with all the Berhalter Cronies in the media, for example kill-joy Keller.
On the Dest or Jedi pushing forward in possession discussion, i could totally see a tactic utilizing both of them pushing forward if we have a tyler adams that can can drop back and be a 3rd CB. Given that both dest and now seemingly jedi can play as inverted wingbacks in possession, they would occupy that middle space where tyler would normally be but is now open when tyler becomes that third CB. It would almost be like dest switching to a regista 6 role when in possession. There is so many possibilites with poch as coach now
27:35 I think Dest and Jedi can take turns staying back or moving forward as long as the communication and awareness is there and there is some sort of cover in the midfield; maybe in lineups where Adams can cover the spots they leave since running and putting out fires is his thing
USMT is really really back like how they competed in the world cup last time but they are even better and confident. I can notice the high ball sense skills from Tim weah, Christian pullistic, mickenmie, and musa, are balling like real pros now without a doubt
Both of y’all are spitting logic and with takes that are backed with objective evidence. So damn refreshing compared to the subjectiveness you find on Fox and ESPN.
Don’t agree with Ricardo Pepi stock going up. He is a good finisher for sure, but he had too many bad first touches. And he is not someone who can receive the ball deep and protect the ball and dish it off to a runner. Balogun is better in those categories.
As Adam said, "The right track to being back." --> These last two matches (especially the last one) have really given me high hopes for the US team. There's a clear progression of positive, new tactics that take advantage of player attributes. --> Having said that, these two matches don't constitute a trend. It marks the *beginning* of a trend.
Tyler Adams may be our "fighter", but we won't hit full steam until we can get DLT into the whole distributing and protecting the ball. If we're going to go with a 3-man back or a left-right shifted wing back 4, then you HAVE to have a pass wizard in the whole.
How would Dest at RB/RCD change the system? Scally has been playing essentially as a central defender, wouldn't Dest playing there compromise the current system? I think Dest at right midfield/wing-back would make more sense. We would lose what Musah brings but Dest can surpass both his defensive and offensive output.
The reason we've been stagnant in the past is because we never put anyone up top who could threaten the central defense and defensive mid with THE BALL AT THEIR FEET. Having Puli play either 9 or behind the 9 changes that for good.
Pepi is ahead of Balogun in any metric. The only difference is in the eye test, Balogun seems to have more attributes but at the end of the day, the 9 has to score goals and Pepi is delivering for club and country, where Balogun is either injured of on goal droughts when given the opportunity. PEPI > BALOGUN for the USMNT
Musah was very good in the home game and good in the away game. I think they feel betrayed by him not growing as much as they would like. Musah did pretty much everything they complain about him not doing but they are so down on him that they won't credit him with anything good
How about that instead of having Robinson or Dest stay back to form the back 3 defensively, one of the defensive midfielders drops back to provide that third player? That allows both of the backs to move forward and give us more options in the attack.
Nah, I think we can vary it ALL in one game. Tessman and Mckennie coming up through the midfield is also great. Now you have 4 avenues to come into or surprise break into the final third: two full backs and two mids.
Its possible he turns Pepi into another version of Harry Kane, that clever striker that finds the correct areas (i doubt he'll reach Kane's level but then everyone here in England said that about young Harry Kane, nobody thought he'd become Harry Kane now) if Pepi becomes 50% of what Kane has become, he'll have become an excellent striker, its funny because everyone expects it'll be Balogun (which is also entirely possible, hes got a lot of potential) but if it turns out its Pepi that'll amuse me
I got Pepi "stock down". His touch was horrible - brick footed - and he missed a couple of good opportunities to score. I did like how he dropped and won the ball back. I also don't think Musah had a horrible match - he spotted Weah for his goal and put it on the plate for Pepi who could not have done worse with the opportunity.
It's kind of wild that people really pushed the "the players aren't that good" line. We would have been shitting our pants over starters that are performing consistently well at some of the most reknowned clubs in the world (like AC Milan or Juve) 10 years ago and not to diminish a whole cast across the best European leagues. It just seems so jaded to me. Like yeah, we aren't France or Brazil - never will be - but our players are definitely good enough to make things happen and perform well against elite talent. The only positions that seem like they have regressed from other eras is GK and maybe striker if prime LD or Clint are lining up top.
@@SantanaI-g4e And they'll try to avoid playing strong teams because it is better to play easier ConcaCRAP teams and make money from idiot fans filling the stadiums or buying streaming services to watch them do it. Balugun did not show up for the USA yet. He got many chances and did not perform. I just don’t know why we keep saying Balugun is number 1 even when he is injured and not playing for his team. Competition is good. Let Pepi start the game since he has showed up for the national team over and over. This will challenge Balugun and fight for them be number 1. He is so good like you say h eventually will become the starter but he need work for it.
He showed up plenty morin. Just not this camp cause he was injured. He is the only legit scorer we have. Pepi only scores against weaker teams when he finally converts One opportunity after missing a Mill chances. Get a clue
I dont think musah stock went down at all he just proved he can make the team work in multiple positions and make the team look GOOD better than it has before no way hes stock down who u putting over him on the right if weah is out? Glad to see the Pepi glazing wasnt too crazy he did what he was supposed to as the starting 9 The Tessman glazing tho....he had ONE decent half the entire camp, first game he was more bad than good, second game he had a decent first half and a meh second half, but you at least admit you have a Tessman agenda so it is what it is Tillman was played out of position and didn't play bad or make mistakes, he gets judged because his perceived attitude and that's weird, he stands out for PSV and is good enough for USMNT Crazy how Tessman playing poorly can be overlooked but the focus can be on Tillman

Possibly we use two wing backs - Dest and Jedi with 3 center backs - Richards, CCV or Mekenzie, AND either Johnny or Tessman. Then 3 midfielders and a 10 and a 9. This might get all of the best players on the field at the same time and also allows for utimate flexibility.

Why do you keep lying about people saying it's "nearly impossible to win on the road in CONCACAF?" Nobody ever said this. I've told you like 10 times. What you're doing is called argumentum ad absurdum. It's when you pretend that someone has said something absurd, and then you argue with this imaginary position. He's signed with Hertha in the 2 Bundesliga but hasn't played at all this season with an ankle injury.
If the US wins, the rest of their matches going into 2026 and gets to the round of eight in the World Cup, well then yes the US is back and better than ever. If not, it’s the same old US with or without a new manager.
When were we gone ?
Balugun did not show up for the USA yet. He got many chances and did not perform. I just don’t know why we keep saying Balugun is number 1 even when he is injured and not playing for his team. Competition is good. Let Pepi start the game since he has showed up for the national team over and over. This will challenge Balugun and fight for them be number 1. He is so good like you say h eventually will become the starter but he need work for it.
Balogun was the best US player at Copa America
Balogun and Pepi have a different style, Balogun could dribble inside on the wing and can create better than Pepi
@@williamcross210and we got eliminated with US worst performance ever compared to other copa America.
@@ashen_BA-Pillmanwe have other played in the team that can dribble and create chances. We need a 9 that can finish the chances.
He showed up plenty morin. Just not this camp cause he was injured. He is the only legit scorer we have. Pepi only scores against weaker teams when he finally converts One opportunity after missing a Mill chances. Get a clue
Hope is not a strategy!!!
Thank you god for ending BerHALTer. Look how good the team is with an elite coach
I dont think musah stock went down at all he just proved he can make the team work in multiple positions and make the team look GOOD better than it has before no way hes stock down who u putting over him on the right if weah is out? He can black rb and be better than scally, and hes still a cm for ac milan
Tillman is the Taylor Twellman or Chris Wondolowski of this generation of players - great at club, no impact with the national team.
Pepi gets on field and puts ball in net. All that matters
The real tests come in the nations league finals
It’s still too early to say the USA is “back”.
Smart man, because we Mexico fans have learned our lesson when it comes to saying that "we're back". The Nations League winner will indeed show who's truly back or risen once again. It's always best to take it one game at a time.
Back to what? We look like w are having fun again but now need to work on defense. Need some legit friendlies abroad to really stress test us.
Back to being a top 5 team in the world obviously
Musah is a starting placeholder until Reyna returns
He didn't play bad he's just not dynamic
‘Back’? When was the men’s team actually good? 1930s? Were we ever this talented? We need to go forward not back
What the hell happened to your audio?
Glad to see the Pepi glazing wasnt too crazy he did what he was supposed to as the starting 9
The Tessman glazing tho....he had ONE decent half the entire camp, first game he was more bad than good, second game he had a decent first half and a meh second half, but you at least admit you have a Tessman agenda so it is what it is
Tillman was played out of position and didn't play bad or make mistakes, he gets judged because his perceived attitude and that's weird, he stands out for PSV and is good enough for USMNT
Crazy how Tessman playing poorly can be overlooked but the focus can be on Tillman
Dude stop telling other people they have an agenda glazing Tessman when you're the one with a clear agenda against him. Did you not say that he isn't good enough because he is quote, "too slow"?
@clashking795 Tac LITERALLY says he has a Tessman agenda lol out of his own mouth lol get out of your feelings
And assessing his performance honesty isn't an agenda against him lol I'm just not glazing him
Calm down bro you can slurp and gobble Tessman ALL you want lol he's not that good to me and doesn't have a high ceiling
Sorry if that hurts your feelings but that's a personal problem not mine
@@FumarMota
1: When does Tac say he has a pro tessman agenda? I only remember him saying tessman isn’t good enough for midfield and should be playing CB, and now he's changed his mind after seeing his latest performances
2: you're not assessing his performance honestly and you claiming Tillman played better or equally to him this camp shows that
3: I get he's not that good to you (which I've seen your other (racially motivated) comments in other videos, but the first part of this statement just makes you look worse
4: Actually it looks like I hurt your feelings
I agree that the Tillman shade is not productive/unnecessary. Tillman is young and will find his feet for the US. I watch every PSV game and have for two years. He has the skill. He will be a good player for us even if he hasn't.
@clashking795 @clashking795 almost every Americans Abroad episode
I didn't directly compare his performance to Tillman's I contrasted the tone in coverage.... reading is fundamental
It's not "racially motivated" doofus I said he's being marketed because he's a white face which has nothing to do with his performance
And I have to actually respect you for your opinion to have or hold any merit lol which I don't and obviously reading and comprehension is an issue for you which makes YOU look worse internet stranger lol
To be "back" you had to have gone somewhere, and we're still as a football country trying to get there.
What is back? I agree with the guy saying that insinuates a return to anything. We are on the right track to being where we should be. That is all.
Back to what? The USMNT have never been “there” in the first place 🤷🏻♂️
Dude. Let it go. Yes Tillman played a 6 for PSV. Did he play well? No. So, makes sense he’s struggle fr the USMNT. My god dude. Tillman is a roster lock. Quit it.
Colabs with Adam are so much better than with Pete. I love you Tac, but I just can't listen to Pete anymore. He's just a hate merchant. I also like your colabs with the guys from TSRC.
Tell Kasey Keller to shut up!
Back to what
Why do you keep lying about people saying it's "nearly impossible to win on the road in CONCACAF?" Nobody ever said this. I've told you like 10 times. What you're doing is called argumentum ad absurdum. It's when you pretend that someone has said something absurd, and then you argue with this imaginary position. Stop saying that people said it's impossible or nearly impossible to win on the road in CONCACAF. All of you guys employ this tactic where you make up things nobody said, and then you argue against these positions. It's also a strawman. You're not fooling anyone.
We all fall short of God and we are all not worthy of Heaven but are worthy of hell but Jesus out of pure love for us died on the Cross and was tortured so we didn''''t have to suffer, repent and turn to him before its too late.
Let’s go!
🙏
True 💯🙏
There is no god.
Fuck god you religious nut job
I hope FIFA is able to rig the 26 WC and gift it to USA. We really need the help
No more Christianity ball
We are so back
We may not be fully back, but we're back on track!
Pepi should get the start until Balo can take it away. I said it. Tessman, mckennie, Adams in the midfield
Um nah you are a moron. Balo already took it away when pepi sucked against real teams. Balo is the only real threat at striker. Get a clue cuck
If you think Puli's "stock can't go up", then wait and see what happens after Poch keeps using him centrally against real teams, and can start building an entire team-tactical approach around it.
Jamaica's history sucks even if they have good players
Are we back? We were never here to begin with.
