    Awesome video. Perfect timing.. I'm building a scale interior from scratch and having trouble getting the stuff to glue together the way I want. Thank you.

    Another great tutorial video, but now you're giving away all your secrets lol... Please keep the instructional videos coming, they are much appreciated. I've always wondered and been fascinated with how a n00b makes tiny truck art. Ty for a glimpse behind the curtain.

    This is great, thanks for taking the time to make this one. Working on my first RC4WD body and bought the Plastruct plastic weld. Looks like I'll be getting some MEK sub when this runs out 👍. I know we have seen a selection if your cutting tools in other build videos, maybe some overview of the essential blades or saws we should have? I had to cut holes in the Mojave bed to fit over the shock towers and did a hack bodge job of it. Thankfully I have a lot of good files so I could clean up most of it, but I'm sure there's some convenient handle to hold narrow jigsaw blades or something that would have made it clean and easy

      A cutting tool video is a great idea. I've amassed quite a collection saws and cutting tools for this hobby. A coping saw might work for that particular instance. When I cut holes in a bed for shocks I usually make a cardboard or styrene template then transfer it to the bed. Then I go crazy with a cutoff wheel on the rotary tool and clean it up with file and a sanding wheel.

      @@turksandjerps That's about how I did it too, except I tried a cutoff wheel and a soldering iron to get into the tighter areas. I'm glad I did it in the garage because I'm sure the house would still smell like toxic burning 😂. The fine cut files I got for gunsmithing work really well on the plastic for cleaning up edges

    Hey thank you so much for your time! About the 3-D printing if I the guy is starting from scratch not knowing anything is there a long list of ABC’s to learn before purchasing a decent reputable printer or is it just worth having someone print it for you it’s kind of a odd question some people say that it’s a headache another say it’s a piece a cake I just wondered if there was anything that stuck out to you and that one should know before investing in a printer I was looking at a few that were around $400+

    • @michaelhoyle3266

      3D printing is a whole other hobby. It is great to be able to make your stuff, however there is a learning curve. Definitely not a set it and forget it hobby. There are a lot of great videos on TH-cam. The Ender 3 or any of it's clones are a great starting point, decent machine for a low price point.

    • @turksandjerps
      @turksandjerps  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think we're at the point in time where everyone serious about models and this hobby needs a 3D printer. I use a nearly stock Tevo Tornado which I think is a CR10 clone. Is it the best and most expensive? Not by a long shot but it has been very reliable for me. I can make an average print look great with my finishing skills. Other people can't finish or don't care to so that's probably where a higher end printer would be useful. Anyway, there's a slight learning curve but I was able to get the hang quickly with some videos and google searches.

I'm just starting to work on a Ford Econoline pickup in several parts 3d printed in HIPS so need to learn how to stick it together and where to use strengthening strips and styrene. Its also good to know how to stick pla together as that's the main filament I use. Can you guide me towards any of your videos where you do shell strengthening with styrene?
      Thanks again.
