    I have the same set up on my Tundra. Love my truck and so happy to have found a camper I can use on the truck. I added the air bags for added towing security. Ive towed a 20 ft fifth wheel and a 24 ft bumper pull trailer, both well without the helper air bags, but I didn't want to have to worry too much asbout what I carried in the camper so added the added the air bags. And I like cool stuff. BTW, those that are wondering, with the bags empty, or nearly, there is no noticable change in the quality of the ride. Rides fantastic with the camper loaded with 45lbs in the bags. Thanks for the video. Happy travels!!

    Hey buddy, next time the conditions are windy like that just add a voice-over instead of trying to do a single take filming. I use my iPhone and the Voice Memos App, then email it or share it to a folder on my desktop where I do my editing. I've had to do that several times and the quality is great. Love that camper and keep the videos coming.

    I'm trying to figure out what I can carry in my '21 tundra. Unmodified cargo capacity is 1400. The modifications I would add would be extra leaf spring, air bags, Bilstein shocks, load range E tires and sway bar. I'm thinking I should be fine up to but not over 2000 wet. Was wondering about your mods.

    How are you getting around the payload? I think I have the same exact truck, but my payload is 1360 pounds. Thank you.

    • @kccreations5945
      @kccreations5945  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well there is no "getting around" it per say, but to help support it I added Firestone airbags on the back to help and run those about 50lbs. And then I more recently installed a TRD sway bar, but did our 7,000 mile roadtrip without it so it's still doable. Does that help answer your question?

Also, did you ever consider a tow along camper? I can’t decide if I want a truck camper or tow along. I like that the truck camper is just easy. But the tow along has more space. 🤷‍♂️

    I don’t know of any half ton trucks that 1500 lbs won’t put you over the gross vehicle weight. With a upgraded suspension you could probably carry that rig but it would still be overweight by law.

    • @kccreations5945
      @kccreations5945  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that’s probably true. I have air bags which helps with the weight but I’m over payload with it on.

    • @briansantefort
      @briansantefort 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have NEVER in my life seen a half ton truck get pulled over or hassled in any way shape or form for a load that is barely over the OEM capacity. You show me 1 state trooper or any cop for that matter that can checks payload weights and capacity on any non commercial truck.
      Useless argument presented by armchair keyboard warriors. I pulled 10K over my old 14' Tundra 4.6 trucks capacity 1800 miles across the country multiple times and not once even got looked at. Truck was only rated to tow 6400 pounds according to Toyota. GTFOH with payload worry. Geez.

    • @sengx
      @sengx ปีที่แล้ว

      @@briansantefort but what if you get into an accident? If found over payload, would insurance still cover or could being over payload be used against you? Genuine question... i have a tundra as well and would love a camper on mine

    • @briansantefort
      @briansantefort ปีที่แล้ว

      @sengx Show me one cop today smart enough to document and discover all that information. They are spread thin, with low I.Q. street cops. They hassle you for things that don't exist and make up laws when they want. Then in real circumstances they don't have a clue what to actually do. Even if you were moderately overweight, it wouldn't be their concern. They are more worried about clearing a scene, doing a standard report and issuing citations.

  • @richardkoch8752
    @richardkoch8752 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Sorry, I am a Tundra owner and your Tundra is probably only rated for 1500 Lbs CCC. With your camper at 1600 Lbs, loaded, AC option it probably added 300 lbs plus and sorry but you're are no small guy.....guessing 325 Lbs, with your wife at probably 150 Lbs you are most likely 1,000 Lbs over on legal capacity......that is way too much. Air bags are just a band aid to level a vehicle.....not to increase CCC. Time for a larger 1/2 ton. I wish Toy. would come out with a 3/4 ton truck but it's just not going to happen. I would sell that camper and get a suitable travel trailer (Lance)
