RIP Right ear headphones. 😂
😂😂 Y did that happen?
Allen Iverson’s football highlights was 🔥
Jalen Suggs as well.
Nate Robinson too
In high school lol
Allen Iverson was a football player 1st
Exactly and they were FOOTBALL players that went on to be big time in the nba. Lebron ai and others
Stephen A you’re talking about guys playing Centre and PF spots because you conceded that they wouldn’t be able to be like Steph Curry. And yeah they can’t shoot or dribble or be agile enough to weave between players and prevent blow byes. But they ain’t tall enough either. Average height of an NFL player in 2012 is 6’2. Even in the 1950s the NBA was never that small with the average height being 6’4 with the average now being 6’7. 6’2 is even small for an nba guard so they’d HAVE to be able to have handles like Kyrie and shoot like Steph Curry. They wouldn’t be able to get past any defense and score, they don’t have the developed skill that takes years and years to harness. We’re not talking about if they can just play basketball, we’re talking about if they can play in the NBA. There’s a reason why NBA players make so much more, it’s a craft. NBA players could definitely have a better chance in the NFL than NFL players would even have a shot at semi pro leagues. The bulk of the body isn’t even an advantage without the ability to get into legal guarding position because there’s this thing called fouls. NBA players know how to draw them and get people fouled off real quick if you’re slightly out of position.
NFL players on average are bigger, stronger, faster, and jump higher than NBA players. Athletically basketball players are inferior. Of course there are skill position players who could play PG/SG in the NBA. Nate Robinson, Charlie Ward have done it. NBA players don't make more money because they are superior athletes, lol,..they simply play way more games with a fraction of the payroll to shill. It ain't that hard to figure, go do the math.
I think Austin meant that since the NFL game is more wide open that it’s more athletic Basketball players that can succeed in the NFL over the NFL players succeeding in the NBA
Stephen A covers basketball and thinks Micah Parsons and CJ Stroud could play in the NBA because of all star weekend. This guy is such a fraud
They were playing against women who dont even play ball
Floppers in the NFL? Yeah no!
There plenty from both sides who could do either. The real challenge would be from either of those sports, who could play baseball???!!🤔
I’ve said for years…. You can make a basketball player , to some degree. May not be the best shooter, but they can rebound or D up.
You can make a football player. May not be the fastest or most skilled, but you can show them how to have a nose for the ball. Show them how to put maneuver the man in front of them.
BUT you can’t make a baseball player! It’s something you’re born with. You can enhance the skills but can’t make them. Just my two cents.
Current nfl players that could have played in the mlb: Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston. There's more but I don't really know them. I don't know any current mlb players that could have played in the nfl though. To be fair, football is more physically demanding and more of a time commitment for positions such as quarterback
@@ruffles2967 … I agree with all of those you said, as I watched them play in college except for Patrick. But for the four football players you named… here’s four MLB players… Joc Peterson, Clayton Kershaw, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton . And there’s plenty of more. Not saying there aren’t any who can’t play, but baseball is the harder transition.
Anybody remember that hit DeSean Jackson took coming across the middle what nba player is taking that hit from the blindside across the middle and come back to keep playing I'll wait
Some n b a players can definitely be defensive n f l players, No NFL players could play in the NB.A because you have to dribble and shoot a ball
Which nba player you think can cover someone like tyreek hill & keep up with his routes ?
@@davohnkay2365 de'aron fox, prime russ, donovan mitchaell, anthony edward, kyle anderson
Austin River, need to be tested, for making that outlandish statement.
Opinion
Westbrook didn't start playing basketball seriously until late in high school and look at what he did. A lot of freak athletes that play football could be successful in the NBA. Teach them to dribble properly pass and finish at the rim. You can have a bunch of, Westbrooks, Zions and mini Giannis'.
NBA players are too soft to play in the NFL. Might be too soft to play in the UFL if we're being honest.
Allen Iverson was elite as a football player in high school. And he shifted to basketball when he was banned to play. And to be fair, I’m sure there are NBA players who did very well in football in HS, like Lebrun James. It’s an unnecessary argument. We should just respect all sports and not try and create rifts…
Center? Against Giannis? WTF??? They are small
They all athletes.
They would probably adapt after some time…
I like to believe I was equally as good, at Basketball as Football... from grade school up throughout Highschool....but at some point, at Receiver guys just started to get too big, playing free safety 7th-10th was fun, junior/senior year laying hits just wasn't the same. So I'd disagree with basketball players thinking they could just put on pads and be great...
An NFL player would be lucky to make it to the G League, let alone the HIGHEST level of pro basketball in the WORLD. Devin Funchess just signed to an international pro team. That’s prob the best that an NFL athlete could do. No way people think these guys can just show up and make an impact in the NBA just by looking at their HIGH SCHOOL tape lmao
And you thinking that any of those 6’5 or 6’6 guards can even attempt to run with nfl receivers or corners is laughable
You crazy for saying that bro...
Everything DE can Be PJ Tucker...🤷🏿♂️. What's his skill set
@@Snap_6five your crazy for thinking someone can just waltz into the NBA and make an immediate impact. I think it’s disrespectful to think an NBA guy could do what an NFL player can do but it works both ways. Jimmer Fredette was COLD in CBB, didn’t do shit in the NBA.
The tight ends and defensive ends would be more equipped to play in the NBA than corners and safeties. Guys like Jimmy Graham, and Antonio Gates played college basketball.
Idk how he glossed over those guys…
People get injured left and right just for jumpin or landin wrong in basketball. One hit in football and they gonna need an ambulance.
80 plus fuxking games mfs!!! Up and down the court but yall mfs get like a whole min In between snaps shit and like 16 games, tf it aint been a good high light reel of hits in the nfl since forever!!!!!!! Mfs dnt hit talkn abt hitn somebdy😂😂😂😂😂
A young healthy Kawhi Leonard would’ve been scary in the NFL.
I didn’t know that Danny Ainge played football at a high level. I was aware that he had a cup of coffee in MLB before joining the NBA.
NBA players miss a season for a sprained finger but let them catch a slant down the middle lmao
It's way easier to develop toughness and get used to being hit than it is to develop the touch and skill requires to be an undersized NBA player which pretty much all NFL players would be. People like Megatron are considered huge in the NFL but he's the height of the average point guard in the NBA. Anyone arguing that it would be easier to be an NBA player is either biased or have very little critical thinking skills
@@robhernandez5520the skills are different. You can develop toughness. But there is being tough and then there is football tough
@@robhernandez5520 are u slow?????
You cannot develop toughness and bravery. Either got it or don’t.
Exactly
they’re all too short for the most part
Not many NFL players that aren't linemen are tall enough to play in the NBA. It's getting to the point where you have to be 6'4" to be a small guy in the league. On the other side, anyone that plays a wing in the NBA has the size and athleticism to play as a big receiver or a tight/defensive end, then you have all the guards in the NBA who can play normal sized receivers and safeties; not sure if NBA players are stout enough to play as a linebacker. It's easy to imagine NBA players like Donavon Mitchell have the perfect bodies to play as running backs. 7fters wouldn't have a place in the NFL. The point is, avg height in the NFL is 6'2" whereas in the NBA, it's 6'6", very few players that are at the minimum of 6'1" can make it in the NBA, length has become too important in the last few years. Theirs not very many NFL players that are tall enough to play as anything else but a small guard, which is kind've going extinct in the NBA.
This man brought up CJ Stroud when he himself said he’d feel lucky to even score 😭
maybe some WRs could play but most NFL players are under 6'4 that metric alone would keep them out of the NBA lol
They would have to be skilled guards.
And this man said center. Smh
I think it’s a bit of a tossup, but I really do think the NBA players would do better in NFL if NFL players played been in the NBA , different sport and also the physicality is different
People forgetting that these NBA players would have to learn how to tackle and play safe. Half of them would break their necks.
Didn't most say Deion Sanders couldn't tackle? I'm sure we can find guards who can play corner.
He definitely knew how to tackle, he just wasnt a big hitter. If he couldn’t tackle teams would have just run to his side.
@@SamJones33-in5gyI’m sure a lot of runs were to his side but it’s not that simple, linebackers are the primary tacklers on defense not corners, and not all NFL players are wired the same, I don’t think Deion Sanders is a lot tougher than Anthony Mason.
@@tarikwalters854 first of all he wouldn’t have been drafted if he couldn’t tackle. You can’t even name another corner that isn’t a good tackler.
@@SamJones33-in5gy What about him?
Bro we can settle this on a neutral site as to which league has the better athletes… 30 of the best NBA players vs 30 of the NFL players on the track and field .. discus throw, shot put, high jump, long jump, triple jump, 100 meters, 200 meters ,400 meters, hurdles etc..where the world settles who’s has the best athletes every 4 years).
My money on the NFL.
Hand down!!
Load management doesn’t exist in the NFL.
THE FACT THAT MOST OF THOSE NBA PLAYERS PLAYED FOOTBALL FIRST THAT PROVES THAT FOOTBALL PLAYERS CAN BE WAY MORE SUCCESSFUL PLAYING BASKETBALL...
Austin Rivers can’t spell nfl let alone figure out how to get the pads on. most basketball players not even gonna make the practice squad or anybodies fantasy team either
I watched this live on Pats show, cannot believe this took over the sports world for an entire week
I only think it did because of the disrespect for another league
This is the kind of argument a six year old would have.
That's what sports debate is all about 🙏
A six year old doesn’t even have the brain capacity to even think to argue about something like this.lol
Welcome to sports
right! because none of them could play hockey! so this whole arguement is dumb
@@christianbagnall3189 as if hockey players can play football or basketball.
I could name a multiple players who could kill the NFL No problem 🏌🏾♂️
They aren’t big enough, the whole physicality thing a myth. We mistake manipulating rules in the nba with physicality. The truth is nba players are physically gifted so they can do most sports. Because they are literal specimens
most football players played basketball as well.. most basketball players only played basketball
The bias against NBA players comes from visibility. THERE ARE NOT PICKUP TACKLE FOOTBALL GAMES EVERYWHERE LIKE pickup basketball games are everyday Therefore we see NFL players playing at a local gym or park.
Jerry rice could have definitely have hooped same with Randy Moss and Megatron there’s athletic players on both sides. They just went a different route.
Take a look at Travis hunter & Keon Coleman’s hoop sessions.
I assume this is the logic (which only applies to safetys/wise receivers etc not the big boys)
- NFL - i just have to be physical athletic and catch the ball
- NBA - i need to have dribble skills and be able to shoot + athletiscm
i think that what rivers is getting at or how he's looking at, but we know in reality it's not like that.
Truthfully made 20 NFL players can be average to good NBA‼️
Rt tackle for Cleveland can ball Jones boy
GREAT SHOW STEPHEN A. ALWAYS TRUTHFUL
NBA is elite skills. Easier transition to NFL/Football. Than Football to NBA.
Basketball is easier to play than the nfl. People who say lebron would dominate are insane. He'd get pressed at the line and have no footwork or blocking skill
What? You have to do everything in the NBA and be skillful. I love the NFL but there's much more positions where it's only about your athleticism. You can get by in the NFL with just athletic abilities much more than you can get by in the NBA. Plus people make a big deal about how Brunson is short in the NBA but he would be one of the taller players in the NFL at RB, WR, CB, or Safety
NBA is way harder to make. Not even close
What DB is going to jam LeBron ? lol
@@Josh3055 Legitimately any🤣 You understand what kind of footwork you need to be a wr in the nfl? Even at the lowest level of nfl receiver?
@robhernandez5520 🤣🤣 Nfl has 1000 of plays and installations every weak. You have to be able to read coverages every play, and get hit on every single play. Basketball has core plays that you can remember and will be recycled forever. There is nothing more skillfully about nba than nfl💀
You have to do everything in the NBA and be skillful while youre doing it. You have to play defense and offense. I love the NFL but there's much more positions where it's only about your athleticism. You can get by in the NFL with just athletic abilities much more than you can get by in the NBA. Plus people make a big deal about how Brunson is short in the NBA but he would be one of the taller players in the NFL at RB, WR, CB, or Safety. Theres not too many 6"5 and above players in the NFL that are also skillful with good hand eye coordination. The combination NBA players skillset, size, athleticism and coordination make it way easier to for them to become football players.
It's also way easier to get used to being hit than it is to get as skillful as you need to be to make it in the NBA as a guard which every single NFL player would have to be due to their height
I’d disagree with it being easier to get used to being hit. NFL players have years of experience and have built a mental tolerance to that kind of pain, something that NBA players never have to deal with. And being tall in the NFL only has its advantages if you have the speed or muscle to use it. Randy moss and Calvin Johnson running sub 4.4 at their height makes them the threat that they were. I doubt NBA players are running anywhere near the speeds nfl skilled positions are.
I think Austin Rivers is right. However, is this really a worthwhile conversation?
DK Metcalf would be a great defensive player in the nba and Alvin kamra is just kyire with a football on the flip side let’s see them nba players play in -5 degree weather high winds and heavy snow when them pads stiffen up we gonna see who can REALLY play in that league
NBA have like 50-100 can play in NFL would be successful at it‼️
Bro this is 100% accurate. Nba players have to have finesse and dribbling skills and do it with 1000s of people right next to them screaming. Their isnt a single NFL player u can say would be a STAR in the NBA. Lebron james, draymond green, shaq, etc.. would all be STARS in their prime in the NFL. Case closed 🔐
Draymond tried to play football and he was horrible..he's too soft.. LeBron and ai ...prob Westbrook yeah ...there's many football players that play basketball in college it's the same either way
Football players would do better in the nba no question
No they wouldn’t lmao. They can’t shoot or dribble or be agile enough to weave between players and prevent blow byes. And they ain’t tall. They wouldn’t be able to get past any defense and score, they don’t have the developed skill that takes years and years to harness
Especially being that there aren't that many great short players in the NBA lol %90 percent would have to play PG & they would get destroyed defensively & locked up offensively lol Its just not gonna happen
