Amazing video, thanks a lot for the detailed video. One video for all the Copenhagen things to do with tour, accommodation etc. I'm flying in April and thanks for your hostel recommendation, I booked the same Next house hostel for 3 nights
I have booked to go to Copenhagen in early July, looking forward to it. Thanks for the tips. Apparently the Hotel that I am staying at, rents push bikes on a daily basis, which I aim to use.
Like your use of maps in your videos . More videos on the eastern , ,south eastern Europe and the Adriatic coast, will be very informative and entertaining.
Thanks so much! I have Bosnia, Montenegro & Albania videos. But I can’t wait to make more about Eastern Europe and the Adriatic coast. Thanks for sharing :)
@@SheRunTheWorld will try and remember to check them out , those countries in my opinion along with Azerbaijan are underrated, especially as viable options when traveling economically throughout Europe during early and late winter ,when it’s still warm.
Hi, thank you for your wonderful short video sharing. I will be making my maiden visit soon. I'm just wondering whether all the recommendations you highlighted here are within walking distance from each other?
Around 9:29 you are watching the changing of the Royal Guard. It happens everyday at 12. The march through town from the barracks right next to Rosenborg Castle. The guardsmen, which I used to be, are young people fulfilling their mandatory military service. Denmark has mandatory military service, although everyone needed today volunteers. The Royal Guards also guard Kastellet and Rosenborg Castle and they are not only for show. What's happening at that moment in the video is that the guards are all gathered out front to greet the incoming Guards. They will stand there during the entire changing which can be anywhere between 45-90 minutes depending on who is in residence.
Wow this is so interesting thanks for sharing! I stood out there for 20 minutes waiting to see something and nothing happened, so that makes sense about them standing for 45-90 min. So crazy! And I didn’t know about the mandatory military service- i love learning more about countries & cultures
Lovely video. Beautifully done. Well organized. If you read this post, would you mind sharing an example of how expensive food is when eating out? Thank you.
Thanks so much, glad you found it helpful! I believe for a cheaper meal it was around $20-25 per person. So I honestly never ate out, I just went and got groceries to cook! Which were very affordable
@@SheRunTheWorld Thank you for replying, and thank you for the information. That is quite high for a “cheaper” meal, but we pay about that here in So Cal, so it wouldn’t be too much of a shock for me. Still, I like the grocery idea-although that would present some obstacles in a hotel. Thanks again. Keep up the great videos.
An amazing and intriguing tour, thank you! Can use your map again, too. You must have just missed the new king & queen being crowned, but that would not have been a day or time for visiting Copenhagen, either.
@@SheRunTheWorld Twas just before your trip, on the 15th Jan. The whole town centre was filled with Danes, specially between the two palaces. Several Ozzies were there, too - you'll remember Queen Mary is from there. You were right to travel there another day....Copenhagen hasn't London's history, but so what! Keep up posting your insights: England, really London, truly is almost the whole world within "the square mile". 😄
Aw thanks so much, I appreciate it! This map was just some favorites I put on my mobile Google maps app, so it’s not shareable because it’s not a proper map I made I’m sorry! :(
I am planning to take a week of vacation either Oct. 11-20 or Nov. 8-17. I have already been to Amsterdam 3 times so I thought why not try Scandinavia. Is it realistic to have enough time to visit Denmark/Copenhagen, Sweden/Stockholm and Oslo/Norway in this amount of time? Also wondering about flying in/out of Copenhagen as well.
I think that would be too much for 1 week! Especially since you’d have to fly between the 3 places and you’d want 3 days in each place. You could try to squeeze in all 3 countries if you visited Malmo instead of Stockholm, as it’s only an hour from Copenhagen so you can do a day trip (video on my channel). Then fly to Oslo to end your trip and fly home from there. I wouldn’t fly back to Copenhagen, it would be a waste of time and money! Just buy a multi-city flight origin-Copenhagen, then Oslo-origin (not 2 one-ways as that would be pricey)
Good explanation, may I add, the name 'Freetown' Christiania is a bit misleading. The same laws apply inside Chistiania as outside + Chistiania's own rules, such as no photo and you must not run. On top of that, the government and Christiania are trying to stop the illegal gang-related cannabis sales, so there is double punishment in a zone in and around Chistiania if you are caught with cannabis or hash on your person. You will also see signs put up by Christiania saying, 'Please buy your weed somewhere else'. Apart from that, it is a nice recreational area, especially in summer, with free openair concerts and other events..Many small quirky shops and workshops and good organic food 😊
I am a canal boat guide in Copenhagen, and I often get questions about the Freetown of Christinia. It seems that most bloggers/influencers get this wrong. Christiania calls itself a freetown, but it is in no way independent. Alle Danish laws are valid there. They just pretend. They are also memebers of the EU. Weed or hard drugs are in no way legal there, and if you by anything and the police shows up you will get fined. (Pusher Street is not there anymore - the residents and the police dug it up earlier this year because it got taken over by gangs.)
LMAO ! Finland just got into the game 🤣 ! DK has been elected the Happiest Country in the World - several times, since the 1970´s. ! We'll get it back 🤣 ! We have "Cocio" Chocolate Milk 🤣 !
Someone lied to you girl. Christiania IS part of Denmark and part of the EU. Some hippies making a "this is not EU" sign doesn't change that fact. It is NOT a seperate state, it is not a sanctuary where you can obtain drugs legally and you are not excempt from Danish laws while in that part of town.
Sweden lost its identity, its history just because they were too polite. They didn't know how to say no! to the barbarians who invaded their country. The Palestinians benefit from the Swedish impotence.

Hi! No problem! Yes they are, I did everything by walking and never used public transport (except to and from the airport)

Are you forgetting to say which is free and which is not.
Huh?
"You can techinically buy weed here" and then what? Get stopped somewhere else in Copenhagen and get arrested? Nice.

NO" Christiania does NOT have their own laws and is cetainly a part of Denmark!!!!, there are often police raids
