Thank you very much, sir, for sharing this valuable knowledge. However, I have a question regarding coupling beams. In our design, we have several shear walls with opposite orientations in the plan. How can we determine whether the connecting beam between two such shear walls, oriented perpendicular to their respective directions, qualifies as a coupling beam or not?
I kindly request a detailed explanation regarding coupling beams.
    Thanks.

      No it's not Coupling beam.

Hi sir, i have a question. Can we create a hole for support HVAC on coupling beam if it without diagonal rebar?

    Great sir thanks,
Sir I have a doubt, apne isme bola ki axial load Pu(w1) and (w2) value nikal ke 2 shear wall me liye matlab 1st me negative keliye and 2nd me positive keliye design karke fir Jo maximum ayga wo dono me apply karne keliye , sir value keya ahm sirf resultant stress ke time he use kare? And flexural strength calculation ke time bhi keya ham formula me earthquake ke pehele Plus and minus karke kare?

Matlab flexural strength calculation time formula tha =0.8x(dl+ll)+1.2el
So, negative Pu(w1) ke time bhi keya is formula bhi yesa hoga 0.8x(dl+ll)-1.2el? Amd positive Pu(w2) consider ke time keya ye formula yesa hoga 0.8x(dl+ll)+1.2el???

    You are great sir,
One doubt: i design 6 storey building having double basement.
My beam over shear wall fails.
    (Length of beam = 6500mm
    Depth of beam = 600mm)
    What is solution?

Show the location of your beam where it fails by a sketch by email
