Is it a 5 second rule? If so, it was stationary for 6 seconds before dropping. Or is it just at the referee's discretion? It does seem like you should at least wait for every ball moving to fully stop though. Weird rule. I'd change it to once all balls in motion stop, that's the proper end of the shot, then count another 5 seconds.
@@DM-kv9kj Absolutely once all balls in motion stop. Just imagine a hard stun shot where the cue ball immediately stops where the object ball was hit, it would probably stop moving before the object ball even rattles the first jaw. Or take a normal shot, where the cue ball is travelling maybe 2 more seconds after contact with the object ball. It would be unfair to the player not to count that potted ball because the cue ball stopped moving that quick, probably that exact kind of shot was required in that situation.
I do not know the rules of snooker, but if the cue ball hits a red, which drops into the pocket before the cue ball has stopped rolling, then that is a fair shot. I think the ref got this wrong.
2:20 The ref was absolutely wrong and Jones knew that. That is why he obviously was going to do the next shot . The rules say that if the ball falls before the other player comes for the shot, it should be scored. Remember the time Selby had the ball stop right in the place and he was jokingly stamping his feet as he walked away, and his opponent was tiptoeing up? What was the joke if the ball stopped then? I hope the ref apologized later.
No it will always be brought back to the table if it stays stationary for a little long but for this particular situation can't say anything as the cue ball was still in motion
1:38, until the other player(s) get down to take their shot it should be allowed, there are always going to be vibrations, a walk/bus/train... the ball was over the pocket, opposite player hadn't even got close to taking his view.... Ref was wrong..
Ok ❤let's just say it for the record , the white ball was still moving when the red dropped. That's still the same shot in progress. So a terrible decision and the fact he didn't check makes it worse. That's my ' twopenneth'
Does Sir Ronald of the Sullivan clan ever apologise, he tends to look more annoyed than when he just misses though. I don't think i have seen him hold his hand up.
He normally apologize on almost every fluke...and to this clip he played the next shot carelessly missed a easy plant and gave the chance to his opponent
2:20 The cue ball travelled a good FOOT AFTER the red dropped in the pocket. 100% BAD call from the referee.

Whats wrong with the red ball stopping and going down? In that case the table has defect!
Yes..cue ball still on moving..bad call from referee
Was going to make the same comment, bad ref.
That ref was wrong. The white was still moving.
Absolutely right
That ref is often an idiot...

2:20 The referee was saying that the object ball stopped before it fell in the pocket. Not the cue ball. That's why he was talking about vibrations.
ahh yes good snooker videos

2:38 how do they do that?like seriously stopping the cue ball with that seed
The commentator literally says how he does it.
4:52 why did he want to miss everything and then on attempt #2 hit something? I didnt understand this sequence
He didnt intentionally miss the reds
Welcome back Welcome

Rules state of red stops momentary over pocket and then drops it is pocketed.

@@Snookerhq sec 3.9 c if a ball balances momentarily on edge of pocket and then falls in, it shall count as in pocket and not be replaced
Only problem what class as momentarily

Carter has broken a very good snooker
i think aslong the white is moving the pot should be his
0:35 red should never dropped from that angle, poor table

@@Snookerhq Thank you, I just obviously never noticed. He does look angry when he flukes one though.
Let someone explain to us about the red...Is it another stupid rule of snooker? If not referee was terrible and unexpectedly wrong
Lets just appreciate MARK SELBY* The only player who could beat the rockrt in the final of the crucible 😊Everyone failed and the captain twice
