I grew up in a Irish born family, in 1994 fled to the Sydney suburbs of croydon park and burwood at 2 years old. Moved to chermside west in Brisbane for years too. Tough times, poverty, homelessness ect. and far from home. But Aussies without a doubt took us is and helped my family through 7 years. It has made me who i am today, a proud Irish man with aussie in his heart. In ireland 20 years now and i would love for Spanian to come here for a adventure of our streets❤ i love your character and drive to show true culture and the people in this crazy world. My 11-year-old son introduced me to Spanian a few months back and now I watch these videos more than he does! I'm over here watching a grown man shop at an airport and eat food like blud! Enamoured by your ability to speak into a camera and capture ones attention for the full length of the video while doing 'mundane' things. As well as the educational and insightful videos. Living vicariously through you while getting a glimpse into 'the other side'.
Got your book a year or two ago, and it’s one of those books you literally cannot put down! From front cover to back I was in awe of your articulation, your stories and your ability to overcome your demons. It’s a must read for anyone. I had a laugh, I had a cry and most importantly I resonated completely with it- growing up in Sydney myself. Such a raw, honest and compelling biography. Be proud of how far you have come man, and keep striving to the best version of yourself. Whatever you’re doing, it’s working! EDIT: Someone in the comments said your book is worth $250 now?! and I CLEARLY remember you told everyone when it was published to get it, whether they bought it or jacked it…you didn’t care as long as we read it😂

Good on ya man. After 50 odd years of too many crazy things to mention, I’m now again on my own and all I can say is enjoy the time to reflect on what’s important to you. Spanian is no doubt an awesome inspiration 👍
***Hi Spanian*** You know you’re getting older when you can reminisce of by gone days. It’s interesting to see your point of view on areas of Sydney that I’ve worked around or visited in the past. It was very enjoyable to be along for the ride and hear your insights. Cheers.
I lived one street over in Jones Street Ultimo in the 80s, basically just old warehouses and squatters. Even pre-Darling harbor..which was a railway goods yard then. Some of the best memories of my late teens there .
This gives me goosebumps going back to that time. I never did any theft or anything like that but I’m the same age as you and this is what it was like on the streets growing up in Sydney back then.
That's my old neighbourhood! Used to live there in the early 00's in a unit block on Bulwara Rd opposite the Fishmarket; seeing those backstreets again brings back memories alright. Funny story about those very low concrete overpasses you were walking under (where you pointed-out the running car with the blacked-out windows). Over my time there I saw literally dozens of trucks, vans and taller SUV's wedged-in & stuck tight under those very same overpasses; drivers just seemed to ignore the low-clearance warning signs (and all the paint scrapes and huge gouges & scratches evident on the underside of the concrete formwork) and just powered-on through regardless, not realising that the head-clearance gradually got lower & lower with the shallow angle of the off-ramps until it was too late...
Would your mother or brother be interested in doing an interview with you . Man , that would be so interesting to get there prospective of what your past was like and when you are today, that would be a cool interview.
I love these vids showing the different areas. Thanks for making them. I've lived in Sydney all my life and I still don't really know my way around the city. I'm learning a lot. And you talking about the monorail and then that feeling of when you first moved to the city made me remember when back in 96 & 97 we'd always jig school and come to the city jump on the monorail and explore around. Everyone was so friendly back then and there were huge music stores and arcades to bum around in. And when the cops would stop us they'd see our uniform from Fairfield High and just tell us to catch the train back right away. No harassment like back at home. We never did any crime in the city but one time we saw a fight with machetes and kitchen knives just happen out of nowhere in the middle of a busy street. But that happened all the time back home so it was nothing special. Other than that jigging to the city was like going on holiday for a day. Now I'm a 40 year old reminiscing wondering where all the years went.
It's funny that, the amount of sneaks and searching we use to do back then climbing buildings to get on balconies to do catties and stuff but now so scared of heights.i shit myself now too bra since i stopped doing drugs n criminal activity.its good to hear some boys finally waking up to ourselves..... We travelled to Sydney from New Zealand with my High School rugby team for a World Schoolboy Rugby Cup in 1994 and when we had a free day, most of us went on the monorail, as 14yr olds, we were ecstatic and bewildered by Sydney City and the monorail, we did the whole loop twice. And we won that tournament
I can’t believe it, used live close to you on Pyrmont st back in between 2001-03, so many new buildings. I walked everyday that small bridge at the car parking to hit darling harbour

The wait list for social housing is currently 25 years for general and 10 years for priority. It’s a joke. My clients are homeless not due to their doing
That is unbelievable. Shockingly bad!!!!
But there is No Waiting for the New Lot put in your Towns...that's what's going 😔 n in UK and Europe... only the indigenous. .are Denied .and Discrimated Against..Agenda 20/30
People want immigration, that’s the result
My unit in birrong has 3 empty units there's heaps of empty houses the workers at my office don't do enough to help homeless FACTS

I know and you know god is on your side brother. Working behind the scenes on your behalf 🙏 😉
What Young Prople need to know is being Young and Youth is Everything... nothing Compares to that Nothing...and it will go quickly...and you cant go back..💃🏾💃🏾🏹🏹
Spewing taking away the 'monorails'!!! Waterloo!! Back in the day (mid 1980s) my parents use to have some friends that use to live where you were too bro!!! Remember those flats well!!! Those Housing Commission flats were sic!
