Rear Hatch and Slam Panel Rust Repair - RA28 Fastback Celica (Part 8)

Doofa Now needs a slam panel repair! Our 1977 RA28 Celica is in pretty decent shape but it does have some rust that is common around the rear hatch in the slam panel so today we're taking care of it!

That's the cleanest hatch area I've ever seen on a RA28/29! Nice work on the repairs as always. I image it's a welcome change to have a solid base to start with. And so stoked about the shirt! I'll send an email soon, thanks so much!

Yeah super happy with the hatch area - hatch itself is equally as impressive, looks like no rust ever, including on the backside. Glad your stoked on the shirt - will keep you updated as to when i hear back from everyone and send them out. 👍

Thanks Mav, unfortunately didn't record that stuff, just because of the time taken for camera placement etc. Also follow up editing is a killer on those. Trying to have dofa be a less detailed build for faster outcomes for people but won't miss a trick on the Violet Crumbles build 👍

You should just clear coat the bare metal. What a looker! 😊

That's definitely being considered - if i go that way i'll do some more repairs and look for a more consistent finish on the metal before coating.
