Damn......all the writers went wild for Highlander 2.
Hey, it's Ewan. Thanks for having me on the show; this one was a real blast! Something I completely forgot to bring up during recording is that there is a line in Yellowknife that mentinos orbital wobble!!! I swear they dug this script out for ideas when they were putting together The Source!
And we all thought the movie we got was weird enough! We had no idea what kind of drug-induced madness they cooked up before Zeist! This is basically The Prophecy, also created by Gregory Widen, mashed up with Highlander. Glad to see Ewan around again. I miss his Laserdisc and Highlander musing on social media.
Wow, this was wild. Always wondered what this script would have involved. The title always intrigued me but wow the content was really weird. What the heck were those spheres? Thanks for walking us through it.

Little bird told me this "fairy-tale"...In 1987-1988 Davis/Panzer came up with a bold idea of sequel Highlander. The film was supposed to be set in the future. Soon after Widen came up with the idea of big revelation - regarding Immoratlas being in fact Angels + polluted world + "a dome". He never written a script BUT probably the pitch or even treatment (the birdy wasn't sure about the treatment). The producers played a game with him and asked other writers to write screenplays with these "story blocks". That's why you have future+dome+angels in Yellowknife and other scripts. BTW - originally Yellowknife was a svript for a standalone film, re-writen to be a Highlander sequel. And Widen's Angels fighting with Lucifer, got their own movie.

Wow. Just when you thought you’d heard everything there is to know about Highlander! I can’t believe that there are scripts out there that are worse than the finished product. The sphere thing was ludicrous. The Yellowknife script shat all over the Kurgan as well, why bring him back? It completely belittled the character. It’s no wonder Clancy Brown turned down the opportunity to be in the sequel!
I think it really shows that no one had a clue what to do with Highlander after the first film.
Have you ever read the script notes from the 10th Anniversary Highlander DVD? That would make a GREAT episode!🤘
