The "Jimmy scene" in Comes A Horseman is THE best scene in the entire series, hands down. And it elevates Methos as a character immensely.

Wow I love the tv series! Here the USA the Stacey Travis episode aired late in season 5 and the Jacob storyline started season 5 . We had 20 episodes in both seasons. Also I feel Roland Kantos was a servant of Ariman and it was the same prophecy

I love Modern Prometheus. It's cool how the series had this collection of episodes vaguely related to (almost) all of the Universal Studios Monsters. They had a Mummy episode, a Vampire episode, a Frankenstein episode, and even a Phantom of the Opera episode. But sadly no Wolf Man episode!

Awe, Duncan's real reason is he doesn't want Richie to be taken by Clay!

As a 42 year old man who saw the first film on a random "weekend with Dad" VHS rental when I was about 10 or so, and has loved the franchise ever since, I have to say I never thought of having the show be "the training of Richie."
That's actually really interesting, and in hindsight, probably would have worked better (when taken as a whole) overall, and limited the "Immortal of the week" bad guy rut the show so often got stuck in.
The show is almost always more interesting, entertaining and... I don't know, believable I guess when the episodes had more focus and interaction with the people around Duncan... Richie, Tessa, Joe, Fitz, Amanda, Methos, etc than the standard "here's some Immortal I had a grudge with a century or three ago that I didn't kill then because reasons but I have to kill now" formula. Even when that was still the point of the episode! Chivalry is a great example of this, as it examines Duncan's growing friendship with Methos, his ever-evolving mentor/father-figure/best friend/big brother relationship with Richie and some of the core ideals that make Duncan who he is... While still following the standard formula of "villain of the week" episodes, albeit with Duncan not being the one to kill said villain. And it's one of my favorite episodes in the entire series.

Also, I was roughly 17 or so when I saw the episode where Richie was killed off and I bawled my eyes out, and was very angry because Richie was definitely the character I liked the most, even if he wasn't my favorite character.
