Barcelona 2002...the greatest concert ever produced by Bruce and the Band...in front of the greatest audience ever assembled. A magical moment of pure joy... never to be repeated.

I was skeptical of him when he first merged(WTF do the people who write for Time and Newsweek know about RnR),but when he opened w/this the first time I saw him (HouTx78)I was converted
For me, the best concert is about the energy and how the performers feed off the crowd. I've been to many concerts from Phish, the Rolling Stones, and the Eagles to Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Guns N' Roses, Van Halen among others. All of those bands come very close, but Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will always be the best one. The energy and how they feed off the crowd is just phenomenal.
One of the very few to come close to Bruce is Frank Turner. You can find some clips of him live here - his songs are easily forgotten in studio, but live it is something completely different, and yes, I am sitting behind a desk.
We've got a bunch of those concerts in common then!. Saw the Foo FIghters back in '99 and they were ridiculously good. Saw the Stones 3 times (they're the best band ever, after all). Bob Dylan, G'n'R, Aerosmith, Clapton and a whole bunch of others. Now I gotta admit, I did know quite a bit of Springsteen songs, but for some reason I never _really_ dove into it. Last year, some friends that _where_ fans suggested we go. We went, and I was absolutely mesmerized. Certainly among the best shows I ever saw. When it completely unexpectedly brings a tear to your eye, you know it's the ****.
When people tell me they want to come see Bruce play in New Jersey, I'm like...do yourself a favor and go see him in Europe. Because...that crowd!!! WOW!!!
I'm from Argentina. I saw him in NYC, NJ, Barcelona, Rio, Buenos Aires among other places. Even when there are no crowds like here in Argentina, must say that in Barcelona i felt the most similar sensation, with the crowd being one more actor of the show in every song. In USA people looks older and much more quite. NOT in NJ where you see people from 10yrs to 80yrs old....watching his hero.
I have seen him 3 times in Gothenburg, Sweden! Pure magic! What a performer! Those concerts were all over 3 hours and could have gone on for another 3 hours. That is how great they were! I have never seen an artist with that drive and energy Bruce has. The connection between Bruce and the crowd was amazing! When he comes to Sweden again I'll be there for another magic concert!
bruce always wants to come and play in spain and in Barcelona in special. He always said that he has a connection with Barcelona somehow.. That´s why he did the live in barcelona :)
Rock is most intense and exiting - *best* - when live & loud. It comes across poorly on television. But IMO this 6 minute video of Bruce Springsteen playing Badlands, one of his many classic songs, in front of, and with the participation of an enormously enthusiastic audience in Barcelona, captures the experience of live rock about as well as the medium allows. But make no mistake, it offers no more than a hint of the experience of seeing Bruce and the band live, in-person, which is one of life's grandest experiences. He was in his early 50s when this was filmed in 2002. I believe now, in March 2019, he's 68 or 69. I hope he continues to tour and play arena-sized concerts for 20 more years, but realistically, only one, maybe two more tours seem possible. If you haven't seen him perform I suggest that doing so become one of your highest priorities. It's something you'll tell your grandchildren about. It'll be a hundred years before there's another Bruce Springsteen, if ever. He's that good.
I agree, I been to 5 of his shows, (Trieste, Munchen, Padova, Milano&Milano) and I will go to all of them when he is performing near, because after his shows you feel completely reborn I think is the best word to describe it... Its like all of the bad feelings and things that happened to that point, worries, anxieties, doubts are just wiped clean and you start anew. Its about music but its even more about the energy. You can't put it in words you can only feel it.

Es la ciudad más hermosa del mundo mi querida Barcelona y encima con este increíble concierto🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
This is not Rock 'N' Roll, this is religion.
when I was leaving a show in Newark in 2012 a guy said to his wife "If Bruce started a religion I'd join it." I turned to him and said "me too!"
Amen
Ryan he started this religion over 50 years ago 👍👍
Hallelujah brother!
Don't insult Rock 'N' Roll by comparing it to religion :)
Was at this show and Camp Nou in 2016. I have seen Bruce all over the world and nowhere is like Barcelona
I am so happy. Barcelona 2023

Desde España te queremos. La mejor banda de la historia drl rock.
Estoy haciendo un proyecto conectado con Asbury Park. Si entendés algo de la letra y música de Bruce, en tu opionión, ¿hay algún cantante similar que canta en castellano?
Si. Aqui en España el grupo REVOLVER (CARLOS GOÑI)@@frankdomenicocipriani4569
Unbeatable song from the great Bruce Springsteen (*1949)
No horns. No bongos. No backup singers. Just the OG E-Street!
Exactly what I was thinking. Those back up singers are just annoying and what's with the bongos. For me, ESB is Max, Nils, Gary, Steven, Roy and Jake. No one else is needed
I'll be coming from the uk to see him there next year ( can't wait now)
@@johnkitching2500 which of the days are you going?
@@mrturtle8504 Monday 26th
@@johnkitching2500 Okay, I’m going there the 28th
I've seen him 8 times, and he still is amazing
Springsteen' kicks ass
Je n'ai pas de mots pour décrire le batteur max il est époustouflant c'est un plaisir à regarder et entendre merci monsieur vous êtes un grand musicien
Did anyone else catch the interview Max Weinberg did about his drum part on this song? Really fascinating insight into the mind that created this piece of music. He said, "DURRRR DUHHHH I HIT DA DRUM YAYYYY DURRR DRUM GOES BANG BANG BANG BANG DUHHHH YAYYYY DURRRRR"

Barcelona for Concerts is just Magic !!!!The Rolling Stones , Bruce Springsteen and others ...Perhaps For Gaudi or Columbus .. ?
LOL Man, if we transported this Barcelona crowd to the 78 and he would've played it in his twenties for em', they'd combust!! What a crowd!!!

i've always felt that weinberg doesn't get the credit he deserves, he is the force of the rhythm and beat of the E street band.
Agreed 💯
The baddest crowd EVER!! none better
Best concert and crowd ever existed
Well, lights out tonight
Trouble in the heartland
Got a head on collision
Smashin' in my guts, man
I'm caught in a cross fire
That I don't understand
But there's one thing I know for sure, girl
I don't give a damn
For the same old played out scenes
Baby, I don't give a damn
For just the in-betweens
Honey, I want the heart, I want the soul
I want control right now
You better listen to me, baby
Talk about a dream
Try to make it real
You wake up in the night
With a fear so real
You spend your life waiting
For a moment that just don't come
Well, don't waste your time waiting
Badlands, you gotta live it everyday
Let the broken hearts stand
As the price you've gotta pay
Keep pushin' 'til it's understood
And these badlands start treating us good
Workin' in the fields
That'll get your back burned
Workin' 'neath the wheels
'Til you get your facts learned
Baby, I got my facts
Learned real good right now
You better get it straight, darlin'
Poor man wanna be rich
Rich man wanna be king
And a king ain't satisfied
'Til he rules everything
I wanna go out tonight
I wanna find out what I got
Well, I believe in the love that you gave me
I believe in the faith that can save me
I believe in the hope and I pray
That someday it may raise me
Above these
Badlands, you gotta live it everyday
Let the broken hearts stand
As the price you've gotta pay
Keep pushin' 'til it's understood
And these badlands start treating us good
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa
For the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside
That it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive
I wanna find one face that ain't looking through me
I wanna find one place
I wanna spit in the face of these
Badlands, you gotta live it everyday
Let the broken hearts stand
As the price you've gotta pay
Keep movin' 'til it's understood
And these badlands start treating us good
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, badlands
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, badlands
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, badlands
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, badlands
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, badlands
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, badlands
