    I wish the original Alien kept in the Xenomorph’s ability of vocal mimicry. It would be freaky for Xenos to mimic the voices of the hosts they’ve killed, to give people a false sense of hope that someone they lost in the hive or to a Xeno is still alive and can be saved

    • @razariel5693
      @razariel5693 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah but in the original script drafts it could mimic Ripleys voice as well and not just Kane's still an amazing concept they could've kept

    I always thought that part in the comic was interesting and how the Xenomorphs may indeed have some Genetic memory.

  • @kaijuar2003
    @kaijuar2003 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Makes sense for Xenomorphs to have genetic memory, after all they mix the host's genetics with their own.
    A fascinating concept, think of a Facehugger infecting your beloved pet but instead of killing you it keeps an eye on you at a distance and attacks anyone or anything who tries to threaten or kill your even other Xenomorphs.
    Let alone, the instinct to protect someone or something that means a lot for you far surpasses what Xenomorphs are meant to do, which is to kill anything and everything on sight and expand.
    And we see this in the Xenomorph that infected the boy's mother. Her instinct to protect her son and love for her son had overdriven the alien's original instincts to kill any and all life forms to expand.

  • @TheRauzKindred
    @TheRauzKindred 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Maternal instincts are a powerful thing and the concept of genetic memory has been played with throughout the expanded material, it's part of why the cult of immaculate incubation believed it was a form of "re-incarnation" that they were still themselves after being willingly infected. I seem to recall reading a comic where a hive actually grew a symbiotic relationship with at least a cell of the cult as they kept bringing willing (and unwilling) hosts to them causing them to become passive at least to a certain extent to them.

    I have a theory
    In aliens 1986 newts Father was the first to be face hugged right?
    Wouldnt that mean the the queen decended from Newts Father? Since it was the first born?
    And in the movie it kinda seemed intrestad/curious at newt and after Ripley saves her the Queen seemed to try to get newt back mabye the Queen
    Had some memory of Newt
    From her Father? I leave it up to you.

    • @fullgreys0n738
      @fullgreys0n738 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe there is a problem in your theory. In Alien, the Xenomorph was also the first, so to speak, and it wasn't a Queen. And since Alien 3 we know that there are special facehuggers that carrys a queen within them, and they look different than the facehugger who attacked Newt's father.

    • @ProjectACHERON
      @ProjectACHERON  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I would follow that up by saying a normal facehugger and xenomorph can eventually molt into a queen, meaning that a royal facehugger only exists to create queen by defult as a quicker solution. thereby making it entirely possible that the queen is the xenomorph born of newts father. however its just as likely that some other xenomorph could have molted into the queen or there could have in fact been a royal facehugger somewhere unseen.

    • @Manco65
      @Manco65 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unless we know for sure what the lifespan is I can't imagine the Queen being a new $hatchling" facehugger. I'm if the opinion it was hibernating ,so to speak,. either in the Engineer/Space Jockey Vessel or somewhere nearby. If these creatures had a overly short lifespan and no natural mechanism for hibernating that would make them pretty poor threat for "planet hopping" as a species.

    What you said at the end of the video about xeno’s becoming more human brings up something interesting. There was a comic and I don’t remember which one, but it showed a fossil bed and mixed in amongst the shells and little skeletons was what appeared to be a xenomorph embryo and one of the characters said that this wasn’t the first time earth has encountered this species.

  • @bebebutterbub1344
    @bebebutterbub1344 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    found this one on the alien wiki: I wonder if you had something to do with it lol.
    “ There is evidence that the Xenomorph hive mind also includes a collective memory that passes along even at a genetic level. Through the tests conducted on Ellen Ripley, it is revealed that the memory passed from Ripley onto the new generation of Xenomorphs allows them to read and understand different languages. Events on the LV-426 colony and the USM Auriga show that the species excels at observational learning. Another case of observational learning can be seen following a Xenomorph escaping its cell.”

  • @GDeNofa

    I think genetic memory is very plausible with xenomorphs and I do love that concept. And though I really enjoyed The Cold Forge, I didn’t like the concept about the facehugger injecting just the goo (I’m guessing the writer took notes from Covenant) into hosts. If that was the case, the facehugger wouldn’t need to “hug” hosts at all; just squirt the fluid onto prey and let it be absorbed into them like the Neomorph. Dr Marcellus had a dream how she was affected by it so by her research I assume that can happen. I like to think the dark matter carries a microscopic embryonic cancer to help deliver it safely while suppressing the hosts immunity. Least that’s my head cannon.

      It is interesting to note that human brain cells do not have nucleus’s, or a viable biological way to replicate neuron network yet, so we don’t transfer our memories into our DNA. But it has been proven that heart cells with nucleus do transfer substantial life memories in heart donors to clinical patient. Whereby significantly changing the personality, dreams, and memories of the new host. It has been widely proven already, patients receives heart transplants gained memories and new forensic knowledge of the deceased as to even track murder criminals. So it would be very possible that the silicone based xeno may have epigenetic silicone neuron network replicators and receptors.👍

    I mean real life organisms might have genetic memory. No I'm not bullshitting anybody. A popular example that I can think of are butterfly's able to recognize odors and sensations scientists had subjected to them after they molted from caterpillars. Or if you want an even bigger mind fuck, female mice were conditioned to become discouraged by a certain aroma in another study after several trial experiments, and in an astonishing discovery when the female mice reproduced their young also had the same reaction to the scent even though they were never exposed to it during their development.

    The idea that the queen in Alien 3 had absorbed so many memories from Ripley so as to have Ripley's clone remember almost her entire previous life is an interesting and scary proposition. That would mean every xenomorph can vividly remember and recall the life of their host.

    I like the comic.
    But I think the comic should be seen as a stand-alone work and not mixed up with the overall Canon.
    Because after all we have learned, drones follow their Queen's orders without any resistance.
    (Remember the suicide attack in aliens against the sentry guns, or the sacrifice of one of their own in Resurraction)
    The latter is more personal preference than a fact.
    But when the host's feelings influence the behavior of the Xenomorph like in the comic, it takes away a lot of the aliens' horror.

    This would make sense, why the clone transgenic-hybridized-synthetic Mr Weyland or even the Precursors, may have believed the xenos were the answer to their legacy literally, against the plague flood. I always thought the plot hole to why Ripley retained her invitrofertilized parent’s memory was some nanotechnology neuron network remapping reproduction/replication. But this theory puts the nail in the coffin; given that a silicone based lifeform would be ideally suited like a computer silicone memory nanochip- so would the xeno’s silicone based genomics. I remember in the avp game boss ,Mr Weyland vaguely boasting about becoming a god through xeno clones- to have a pseudo omniscience, the clone Weyland in a hive mind, transcending his consciousnesses into the synthetic bio mechanical clones. This theory of yours sure makes the Alien story much more interesting.👍

      it also explains why David did what he believed in so strongly; as he strangely thought to turn Shaw. I think your theory is much more consistent with the franchise as a whole, and better than just fan theory it has weight. also explains the Construct engineer synths motives in fire and stone comic avp and also other avp game endings.

      also forgot to add that different hives that are enemies might not share the same dna memory since they have not shared the material, would also explain reasons why xenos can still hive mind for the queens; where as the newborn from5 can attack the queen for the Ripley 8 queen instead. Also toward the end of 5 the newborn was strangely connecting with Ripley in that weird love scene before , she fratricides it into space vacuum. I dont see how this can be in conflict with the aliens genocide series, where pple are saying they dont have gene mem since they attack each other or sacrifice. The antithesis against your view is harder to prove.
