Seeing Sting and CM Punk together in the same ring together gave me chills, bro. One of the best wrestling moments in 2021
Really are you that excited that you waited nearly 8 years for CM Punk to return to wrestling and his first match is with the scrawniest, smallest, metro sexual looking wrestler in the world. On top of that clearly Punk is winning so what does this gain. There is no feud. Punk wants to fight him because he reminds him of himself and he's his favorite wrestler. Why not have Punk kick the shit out of him early and say "You're never gonna be like me". And then say he's back to set the record straight that he truly is the best in the world and go on a tear as a loner beating everyone.

Sting has found the perfect balance for the 'legend' wrestler - keeping himself relevant, while recognizing that it's not his spotlight anymore, and fueling those that follow.
Allin has perfected the staredown, the calm intensity. Does he need Sting? No. But is he benefited by him? Yes.
Punk... remains to be seen completely, as he's still in the honeymoon adulation period after his return, and hasn't really adopted a gimmick yet, but hopes are high, and the talent is definitely still there.
Brooks needs no gimmick; is narcissistic, megalomaniac character in real life.

Loved this segment. Loved how Punk sold the three man beat down and didn’t Super Punk it. Loved the turnbuckle punches and the GTS. Loved how Sting brought himself in and then excused himself while hyping the match.
Admit it, the segment was perfect.
One of the worse GTS ive seen, and im a fan of Punk, but dude is out of shape. He was gassed in less than 5 minutes and almost fell down doing the GTS. UFC debut all over again, he should really be in shape for this, which he is not.

It’s a small detail, but I appreciate how Punk actually stayed down and took a beating from 2.0. In any other promotion with any wrestler with an ego, they would’ve had their “hulk up” moment and started whooping in a 3-1 assault, but not Punk. Punk’s going out of his way to make the young guys look good, and I appreciate that.
When he debuted in ecw against Justin credible, he made sure to put justin over during the match as well,even though he won, usually stars dominate their debut match, he may have a mouth on him lol, but he has alot of respect for the business and knows how to work it

Another small but excellent detail: when the beat down was happening and then Darby's music played for the save, the heels didn't stand there with their mouths open like idiots. Instead, Garcia instructed 2.0 to take care of business on the outside while he handled Punk alone in the ring.

From tagging with The Ultimate Warrior to this moment, Sting is the standard of professionalism and talent that i wish every wrestler aspired to - the industry would be in a much better place. I can imagine Punk and Darby geeking out inside as this was happening.
It was such a surreal experience being in the same room as these legends. Seeing CM Punk, Darby Allin, and Sting all at the same time was insane. I'm so glad I got to see this. Shout-out to my brother for taking me there and giving me the privilege to see that 🤘

CM Punk is maybe quite nervous but he looks focused. I can see no nervousness in Darby Allin though. Sting made a really good decision to leave the ringside at All Out and let Punk and Allin go at it. It was wonderful to see a Scorpion Death Drop, a GTS, and a Coffin Drop at the same time! Who would have thought this could happen in a wrestling ring!

First time I ever saw Darby in AEW, didn’t know who he was, he became my favorite wrestler. He just has that presence, that IT factor, then I saw him wrestle. The way he puts his heart and soul into a match is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

I have a feeling that sooner or later CM Punk will work with MJF, even though he hasn't mentioned him yet (for obvious reasons). Imagine the promos, the shoot-like promos they would have. The hype that could be built without a single punch being thrown. Two of the greatest talkers currently in AEW, who can control the crowd with just a few words. Imagine the heat and reaction MJF could get. Worthy of main event wrestlemania level. But it's too soon right now.
I think it'll definitely happen! Also worth noting that there's a picture of a young MJF meeting CM Punk at a meet and greet many years ago, that will surely be brought up when they do this rivalry
MJF will probably bring up Punk's UFC stint and I'm just excited thinking about the promo class these two would have.
Ideally I'd want it to be long term, maybe MJF would be the guy to take the title off Hangman Page when he finally wins it vs Kenny then him and Punk could feud for it. The possibilities are endless.
MJF will need to be rid of the terrible fued with Jericho, and then he'll need to get a bunch of wins and get his heat back. MJF is too cooled off to be significant with Punk right now.

I mark out when I realize I'm living in a world where Sting and CM Punk can go face to face in a wrestling ring instead of in a fan made film or a video game on TH-cam.
