very nice. I have the same exact problem in my 01' Marquis, the entire headliner is intact, except for the very back 3 inches or so. I'll be doing the repair, as you've shown, tomorrow. Thanks. Most helpful, indeed.
I believe you need to put adhesive to both headliner And roof...wait awhile till tacky..then put together and tuck with putty knife. Permatex. No stain.
I have a tan colored headliner also and some 3M headliner glue, do you think that glue will that show through? Or should I just get the kind you are using? Thanks so much! Great vid!
Jennifer Cullen thanks for the comment! 3M makes a great product and you should be just fine with that glue. If you want to test the color just spray a little of the glue on a scrap piece of cardboard. As long as it’s a lighter color of glue it shouldn’t show through. I hope that helped. Have a great day and good luck!
bad idea. the glue is fine. it is the polyurethane foam degrading, that fails. puting glue on the old polyurethane may work for a few days, and then the poyurethane will fail again, because it turns into crumbles of sticky yukky goo.
Thanks for your input and I am sure this is the case in some instances, but this is a good fix for most. In fact this car’s headliner is still holding up great with this repair and it’s been a few years.
It doesn’t work for every scenario but fixes most that are just starting to sag. If it’s to far gone I completely agree. Try using a different type of adhesive and make sure it’s applied per the manufacturer’s instructions.
Thank you for the excellent demonstration. My headliner is in perfect condition it's just sagging by the windshield. I can do this! 💪🏻
Thank you, directly to the repair and not a bunch of Fluff - Love it! Great Job

The headliner whisperer.
What material do you use: backed with polyethylene or with polyuretane? Where do you buy material? How much per linear foot (5 ft width)
Nice job!!
How the tool he is using is called a scrapper

@@vetmech4554 I didn't mean the color of the glue, but bleed through of the glue.
Great video
Since it's been a couple years I'm curious how well the loctite adhesive held up....any updates on it?
I have since sold the car but it looked the same as that day when I sold it. It seem to hold up well.
Tome mi like buen hombre!
Right to the point.
Awesome video thanks
Nice!
You can also spray the adhesive under the gas pedal!!!
🤪
Don't you have to remove the foam material first?
Not necessary for this type of quick fix. If you’re going to remove the foam because of rotting then I would just replace the entire headliner.
Thanks!
Neal Blangiardo glad I could help!

Tu Sancho your very welcome. Glad I could help.
👍🏻😍
Do this and see what for mess you end up with. Just replace it.
Don't do this. I have tried it. It will fail within two days.
