      fair enough, product switching with td is a very streamlined process nowadays

    Hi Tony, I believe the new TD terms state that you must wait 12 months before receiving another sign-up bonus, so would this strategy require waiting a whole year before doing the product switch? If so, would you get charged the annual fee if you were to wait for that long?

    • @tonywang7778
      @tonywang7778  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just read through the t&c, I believe that's a fairly recent change... we'll have to wait and see more data on this as time passes.

    I hate the fact that you get no interest on the 5k just to waive the annual fee. The benefits of the account makes sense to have at least one of these accounts at one of the big banks.

  • @rohitchanana2319
    @rohitchanana2319 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The best way but I am not sure if it will work for everyone is to have all inclusive bank account if you can maintain 5k balance everyday of the month (you wont pay 29.95$ monthly fees) plus most of the premium credit cards are free of cost as long as u hold all inclusive bank account.
    Note: if you can’t maintain 5k balance, this wont work cause you will end up paying $29.95 each month which cost more than just paying 120-130$ fees of the credit card)

      If we can maintain 5K balance, what would you recommend

    • @rohitchanana2319
      @rohitchanana2319 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@NBA2KLTT17 if u can maintain 5K everyday of the month, then go for all inclusive account which will give u rebate on monthly fees which is 29.95 and free infinite (premium) card with no yearly fees…it depends on your credit score though as infinite cards require yearly income of more than 60k or household of more than 100K

    I just used my TD auto club today. Battery died, the guy showed up, boosted and said that'd be $79 bucks CAD. I said TD and he walked away. Im sold. Just switching all my credit card buying to TD for that simple fact.

      @@tonywang7778 I was looking at CAA just in case. I would have bought it not knowing I already had it with TD, but CAA only had cars and RV's. I have a truck.
      I think what CAA is saying, If you dont have a teeny car, we charge you for an RV.
      So I marked the TD auto club in my contacts "just in case" an then about a week later my battery dies?
      Funny that so many trucks on the road, but CAA leaps from Cars to RV's.

    Hi Tony.. thanks for the valuable information. Im currently using the first class credit card. Do you think the Aeroplane credit card is better?

    • @tonywang7778
      @tonywang7778  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, it depends. From a signup bonus point of view, If it's been 6 months+ and you can find a good way to cash out your TD points then maybe go for a product switch. When I did my switch a month ago they told me I won't get the bonus if I switch from a travel card to travel card so in your situation I wouldn't switch directly to the Aeroplan since they are both travel cards and you wouldn't get a bonus for it. An alternative is switch to cashback and then back to travel (Aeroplan or first-class) after 6+ months if assuming a good offer.
      From a benefits point of view out of the 2 travel cards I'd say the new Aeroplan has a bit more benefits but it also depends on your travel goals.

    • @tonywang7778
      @tonywang7778  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can switch back as long as it's been 12 months since you had an aeroplan card with TD as per the new terms and conditions

      I believe you're referring to switching from Aeroplan to Cashback right? If that's the case then yes, you could keep the Aeroplan points as they are held on your Aeroplan account not with TD

    • @tonywang7778
      @tonywang7778  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can repeat it, as long as you switch the type of the cards. (travel to cashback or cashback to travel) If you done a switch I would wait at least 6 months before doing another switch

    Nice video. Just a question though. I noticed you mentioned that we can no longer product switch between Aeroplan & First Class travel as it falls under the same category as travel & visa "infinite" tier. What if I have an Aeroplan "platinum" card & I want to upgrade to the First Class Travel card? Can I do that as I don't already have an infinite card?
