I made a box lemon cake from trader Joe's and used 'steam bake' and it was done almost half the time. Thank goodness I checked it! Sooo moist!!!

Calzones are served with marinara. I usually have ricotta and mozzarella in the ones I get at the local Italian restaurant plus the other stuff. They look yummy!

I hadn’t heard of calzone before.
    Kind of a pizza pastie.
I know that I will love the taste.
Still not convinced in the new Ninja.

There are meatless pizzas and even crustless pizzas. You invented Jelly's Sauceless Calzone. There is nothin' wrong with it😁😁

Looks good. Only feedback is the camera . We spent a lot of time looking at your back instead of what you were doing. An overhead shot would have been nice.

Thanks for the feedback...I have toyed with the second camera idea and have recently considered trying it before long...

Looks good to me…we have a local Italian restaurant & owners are friends…I asked about differences between calzone & Stromboli…the owner said Calzone has ricotta cheese along with other cheeses & Stromboli only has mozzarella cheese & served with pizza sauce…Stromboli is basically a pizza with anything you want on it & folded over, then in the oven…I don’t like ricotta cheese unless it’s in s cannoli…lol…so I go for Stromboli….I only have the older Ninja Foodi & the Ninja oven…not sure about proofing the dough…thanks for sharing this…awesome..

Looks good! I have never had a calzone with marinara sauce inside. They have always had it on the side with ricotta and mozzarella inside. It’s a white filling with the ham, mushrooms and whatever mixed in. Nevertheless I bet that was delicious!

A calzone is similar to a stromboli, an Italian-American pizza turnover, and the two are sometimes confused. Unlike strombolis, which are generally rolled or folded into a cylindrical or rectangular shape, calzones are always folded into a crescent shape, and typically do not contain tomato sauce inside. @@JohnSanders Do you have to “proof” the dough always to make a calzone? What does “proofing” mean? I don’t have that Ninja device so I am not sure I will be able to “proof”

I wouldn't think that the pizza crust you bought would not need proofing.
