I used to crave really badly all sorts of cereals (rice, pasta and of course breakfast cereals) and restricting them was really hard for me. Not consuming them at all might be the answer for me ! can't wait to see the results ! I lost some weight, but most importantly I reversed prediabetes with the keto diet. Actually, you do not need to eat excess amounts of fat. I have never been overweight, but cutting my carb intake, even more, caused me to lose more weight than I wanted. So now I had to increase the fat a bit more in order to maintain my weight stable to at least 110 lb. The most important thing is to watch the carbs, mine was not too strict, I afford myself up to 50 gr, but trying for less. My fat intake went up but no more than 10%. increase with moderate protein. I am eating beans twice a week (in small portions). I am in ketosis, not the highest, but I do not care. It has served me well. I also exercise more and only eat twice a day. I do not count or write down anything, but I learned and researched well and I read labels all the time (I do not think you need to do all this work). Just know what to eat, and learn to read labels and the hidden offenders.
I am on day 6 of my 21 day water fast, and honestly watching food videos has been of such great help. It's weird, but I am doing really well watching these videos, it's like it gets my mind off the fact that I am not eating, and makes me look forward to when I get to eat again. So excited about getting back on keto again. 😊
@@niqueadams8679 that's fasting :-D not that difficult and actually pretty healthy. I would suggest fasting once or twice a year for 2 to 3 weeks. But educate yourself on how to do it properly and talk to a doctor before your first attempt.

Just a tip I’ve picked up; just because it’s a high fat diet doesn’t mean you want to eat extra fatty items. You want to burn the fat you already have instead of the fat you’re putting into your body. I usually use lean beef only and try not to eat many fats. Fat bombs are a good thing on this diet as well since it “kick starts” the fat burning process. Thanks for the informational video!

My husband,son,and I have been on the keto diet now since the beginning of December.My husband was showing signs of diabetes and my son and I have high blood pressure...Well so far,I have lost 34 lbs,my husband,45,and my son 35.The guys have reached their goal weights and I have a way to go but we all look and feel so much better My husband's diabetes has disappeared,and my son and I have both lowered our blood pressure.I think I have been on about every weight loss plan you can imagine but I never found it this easy to stick to before.I highly recommend keto or any low carb diet now...
I lost a bunch of weight (70 pounds) on Keto about a year and a half ago. I started to integrate carbs back into my diet about 8-9 months ago and didn't gain any weight back for quite a long time. I only occasionally ate carbs- and just the good kind. I still avoid wheat and sweets. I gained about 7 pounds and don't do any calorie restrictions at all. I don't track any of my macros or have to write down my foods anymore. It is so much easier. I'm not young either-- I'm nearly 50 and this has all worked out for me. I suggest that people go to ketogains to figure out their macros and really get serious about their diet.
Just want to let anyone who is thinking about trying keto know, there is NO limit to the protein you can intake. What is described in this video is therapeutic ketosis which is really only advised for people trying to correct issues within the brain. Recent studies have shown conclusively that as long as your fat intake is appropriate your protein WILL NOT be converted to glucose more than what your body needs to function. The fear your going to eat protein, convert it to glucose and therefore throw yourself out of ketosis is unfounded if you are still eating enough fat.
@@FreekillGaming Yeah, there are therapeutic benefits to help with brain imbalances when ketones hit a very high level. That requires about 80% of the diet to come from fat and under 5% from carbs. If you are just looking to feel good in the body and try the diet for weight loss protein can be a much larger piece of the puzzle. Personally I usually register between 1.5-2 mmol/L which makes me feel great on about 60% fat, 35% protein and 5% carbs. Keep in mind it is based on calories, not grams. Fat is 9 calories per gram, protein and carbs are 4.
So where does the protein go. Glucose fructose dextrose en ketones are a fuel source. Which organ is able to store all those proteins because you surely don't burn them

Cutting out processed foods did more effect than trying to keep on ketosis. I do intermittent fasting, that alone keeps the balance. On the single meal I have in a day, there will be around 30% carbs. And THAT is the best fomula I have found. I'm not presuming it's a recipe for all, but it served me, surviving an eating disorder. I started Keto on June 16 2021, I have never had a cheat day, love what I eat and have lost 1/3 of my original weight. I was 150kgs now just a tick over 100kgs which I am pretty happy with because I am 6 foot. Honestly, the best thing I have tried in my life. I started fasting 16 hours a day, which was easy when you sleep approx 8 of those, and I generally only eat once per day. On keto you lower your feeling of hunger and the ketones give you great energy. Good luck to anyone commintting to Keto. I will be Keto for life.
I've been on keto diet for 4 months. The negative effects I have experienced are hair loss, constipation (first month) keto breath and dying wallet lol. I'm not bothered by the keto breath but hair loss is too concerning that's why I have to take in some vitamins.
Any diet causes hair loss as its changing your body. Make sure youre eating enough meat as lack of protein is another cause. Your symptoms are all ketoflu or symptoms being new to keto and they will pass. Make sure youre getting enough saltsx3!

Just finished my 7 days water fast yesterday, damn that was soo hard, I almost give up on the 3rd day, 4th day, 6th day but i did it yaay. Now I'm eating my first treat of the day which is the water melon and it taste like creme brulee lol but my body still weak though. But before I did the water fast I already doing the low-carbs diet. Started low-carbs on last week of Nov and my weight was 154 pounds, now after my water fast, my weight is 131 pounds. If i can do it everybody can do it, its just a matter of telling yourself that you can do it, you know. #motivateyourself

I think to people who are not too familiar with the diet, there are alternatives to nearly all foods you need to avoid, in particular all the sweets. I have been baking SOOOO much since the corona virus has kept us inside. It is really not hard to stick to once you get familiar with a couple easy recipes.
I used to do the keto diet (when I didn’t know the name for it) but I have cheat days and it still worked for me. I basically did about 5-6 days a week keto, and 1-2 days cheat days, a week.
My doctor put me on keto hoping it could help me level out my hormones to conceive. I've been on it about a week and last night had a very weak moment and ate 1 slice of cheese pizza. I felt so guilty. I've have gone completely keto and was actually feeling so much more energy and I feel like I ruined it. And when I am eating strictly keto I'm always worried that I am not balancing the fat and protein correctly. How do you know? Does anyone have any tips?
Erwan, do you do keto? Do you think it's unhealthy? I'm on my 5th month, but It's mainly low carb. I don't test for ketones and I don't measure. I have cut out all of the junk food, 90% of the sugar and usually only eat one meal a day. I don't go overboard on bacon and sausage either, mostly chicken, some beef and fish. I seriously don't ever think about going back because I know what will happen with my blood sugars. Great job by the way. You're a well-rounded young man!

I know that sounds extreme, but once you change from a regular diet to keto, the fat keeps you satisfied for a Long time, unlike carbs, where I'd have to eat every 4 hrs. I usually kept some roasted pecans and would have a handful of those or a piece of cheese, during the day, and then a healthy meal around 6 pm. I don't think I'm the only one that didn't get hungry. I lost a bunch of weight (70 pounds) on Keto about a year and a half ago. I started to integrate carbs back into my diet about 8-9 months ago and didn't gain any weight back for quite a long time. I only occasionally ate carbs- and just the good kind. I still avoid wheat and sweets. I gained about 7 pounds and don't do any calorie restrictions at all. I don't track any of my macros or have to write down my foods anymore. It is so much easier. I'm not young either-- I'm nearly 50 and this has all worked out for me. I suggest that people go to ketogains to figure out their macros and really get serious about their diet.
Just want to let anyone who is thinking about trying keto know, there is NO limit to the protein you can intake. What is described in this video is therapeutic ketosis which is really only advised for people trying to correct issues within the brain. Recent studies have shown conclusively that as long as your fat intake is appropriate your protein WILL NOT be converted to glucose more than what your body needs to function. The fear your going to eat protein, convert it to glucose and therefore throw yourself out of ketosis is unfounded if you are still eating enough fat.
I struggle a lot with getting enough fat in comparance to protein, so the 80% fat and 20% protein he talking about is mainly for what you said?
@@FreekillGaming Yeah, there are therapeutic benefits to help with brain imbalances when ketones hit a very high level. That requires about 80% of the diet to come from fat and under 5% from carbs. If you are just looking to feel good in the body and try the diet for weight loss protein can be a much larger piece of the puzzle. Personally I usually register between 1.5-2 mmol/L which makes me feel great on about 60% fat, 35% protein and 5% carbs. Keep in mind it is based on calories, not grams. Fat is 9 calories per gram, protein and carbs are 4.
So where does the protein go. Glucose fructose dextrose en ketones are a fuel source. Which organ is able to store all those proteins because you surely don't burn them

Cutting out processed foods did more effect than trying to keep on ketosis. I do intermittent fasting, that alone keeps the balance. On the single meal I have in a day, there will be around 30% carbs. And THAT is the best fomula I have found. I'm not presuming it's a recipe for all, but it served me, surviving an eating disorder.

I have never had a cheat day, love what I eat and have lost 1/3 of my original weight. I was 150kgs now just a tick over 100kgs which I am pretty happy with because I am 6 foot. Honestly, the best thing I have tried in my life. I started fasting 16 hours a day, which was easy when you sleep approx 8 of those, and I generally only eat once per day. On keto you lower your feeling of hunger and the ketones give you great energy. Good luck to anyone commintting to Keto. I will be Keto for life.

I've been on keto diet for 4 months. The negative effects I have experienced are hair loss, constipation (first month) keto breath and dying wallet lol. I'm not bothered by the keto breath but hair loss is too concerning that's why I have to take in some vitamins.
Any diet causes hair loss as its changing your body. Make sure youre eating enough meat as lack of protein is another cause. Your symptoms are all ketoflu or symptoms being new to keto and they will pass. Make sure youre getting enough saltsx3!

Just finished my 7 days water fast yesterday, damn that was soo hard, I almost give up on the 3rd day, 4th day, 6th day but i did it yaay. Now I'm eating my first treat of the day which is the water melon and it taste like creme brulee lol but my body still weak though. But before I did the water fast I already doing the low-carbs diet. Started low-carbs on last week of Nov and my weight was 154 pounds, now after my water fast, my weight is 131 pounds. If i can do it everybody can do it, its just a matter of telling yourself that you can do it, you know. #motivateyourself

@@dana102083 I used 1/2 tsp of Nu Salt in 1-glass of water. But you know it's really up to you. According to the Nu-Salt website, the potassium content of Nu-Salt is 530 milligrams per 1/6 tsp. (1 g) serving which is approximately the same as the amount of potassium in one medium banana or one cup of fresh cantaloupe. Potassium chloride is used as a substitute for the common salt, sodium chloride.

I think to people who are not too familiar with the diet, there are alternatives to nearly all foods you need to avoid, in particular all the sweets. I have been baking SOOOO much since the corona virus has kept us inside. It is really not hard to stick to once you get familiar with a couple easy recipes.

Mayonnaise is perfectly fine as long as you don't overdo it, same with carrots
Opt for a mayo made with a high quality oil like one made with olive oil. But reg mayo is fine too.

I used to do the keto diet (when I didn’t know the name for it) but I have cheat days and it still worked for me. I basically did about 5-6 days a week keto, and 1-2 days cheat days, a week.
My doctor put me on keto hoping it could help me level out my hormones to conceive. I've been on it about a week and last night had a very weak moment and ate 1 slice of cheese pizza. I felt so guilty. I've have gone completely keto and was actually feeling so much more energy and I feel like I ruined it. And when I am eating strictly keto I'm always worried that I am not balancing the fat and protein correctly. How do you know? Does anyone have any tips?

Erwan, do you do keto? Do you think it's unhealthy? I'm on my 5th month, but It's mainly low carb. I don't test for ketones and I don't measure. I have cut out all of the junk food, 90% of the sugar and usually only eat one meal a day. I don't go overboard on bacon and sausage either, mostly chicken, some beef and fish. I seriously don't ever think about going back because I know what will happen with my blood sugars. Great job by the way. You're a well-rounded young man!

I know that sounds extreme, but once you change from a regular diet to keto, the fat keeps you satisfied for a Long time, unlike carbs, where I'd have to eat every 4 hrs. I usually kept some roasted pecans and would have a handful of those or a piece of cheese, during the day, and then a healthy meal around 6 pm. I don't think I'm the only one that didn't get hungry. Are you on keto?
