But in the anime, he instead forms shackles for the same objective of pinning him down. So, the manga is more bloody, but it still mostly follows the same path mostly.

Usually when I or my friends recommend something especially to watch anime, we just watch it together the couple first episodes, other wise like you said we won't watch it 😅and then after that it's up to us individual to continue or not. If it's peak, we make sure to always have a watch party

One reason we started this was cause we were all tryna show each other a show--Hector's got us watching JJK and Sean wants to watch Star wars (Titus is just goin w the flow lol). The fandom is great, supportive of reactors, and always thirsty for more content.
About sexuality of characters in One Piece, while there're a lot of trans or LGBTQ+ characters, the show doesn't focus on their sexuality as much. There're trans characters that are fan favorite not bc of them being trans. They're just likeable characters. As for romance, the show doesn't focus on it that much. In fact, there's no romantic relationship inside Luffy's crew.
I wouldn't exactly call it "a lot"... maybe in people's headcanons, but actually stated/explicitly shown LGBTQ+ characters in the manga/anime aren't that many.

My favorite anime of all time is My Hero Academia, and I'm perfectly comfortable admitting that One Piece is the greatest anime of all time. MHA feels like it was made for me, but one piece feels like it was made for our species.

damn zoro is gay? lol I love that concept. I think the representation of any kind of sexual orientation and gender is amazing in one piece. also all the different races
i think it's a slight stretch to say Luffy is canonically asexual (Oda even said he was "interested" [in sex] just has other things on his mind right now) but I do agree that he feels like he really is due to actual, canon behavior (being completely unaffected by Boa's devil fruit powers, for example), so it's a good headcanon and easy to see why so many people subscribe to it.

Some of the concepts being fleshed out early is fine, but I don't like Garp and luffy thing that they introduce way too early and neither did Oda. Actually later on it's mentioned that Barque works tried to recruit Zoro, but he cut them down after not accepting it saying, "I'd have to be the boss", so I liked the detail that was added on as a nod to the fans who know the series that well.
I mean I get it but we have to shorten some things and make some early introductions if we're going to a) make this more than just a cardboard copy of a well-loved anime and b) tell the whole story in under 20 seasons.

I had never seen One Piece until I watched the live action. Because of the live action I am now up to the Water 7 saga in the anime.
The part when mr. 7 (baroque works) met Zoro were mentioned in the manga, but this is the first time we see the adaptation, anime didn't do it.
