I would love that he would make a great hero and teacher. He would get along great with Eraserhead and be one of the few who could deal with Bakugou's outburst, I mean he did grow up with Endeavor.
Pretty sure Dabi DID idolize his father and clearly in the flashbacks, he loved his moments with his dad. But once Shoto was born, he got neglected by his father. It’s why he wanted to kill Shoto, to get at his father. Even his scarred face is how Endeavors fire beard goes, which means he burned his jaw off trying to emulate his dad.
Considering that we literally have someone who’s quirk is like a literal black hole and they made a suit that could let them control their quirk, is it really that far fetched that Touya could’ve just had a fire resistant fire costume?
Just imagining the announcement of the Todoroki hero agency, Freezer Burn, all three adult siblings with their youngest brother still in high school but expected to join in the future.
Saw a Theory earlier today that posed the idea that Dabi might have a ice quirk he may be unaware of. The basis for the idea was that instead of his hair turning white from stress (which is very very likely) it became white as a result of a dormant ice quirk, and filling in the fact that the Todoroki siblings quirks match their hair with Natsuo/Faumi having primarily white hair, while shoto has a mix, and Dabi/Touya had full red hair and more firepower than his dad, but then the hair started to turn white. And since Dabi was pretty much the only villain who's quirk didnt evolve during the Liberation Attack, he also is arguably the only one that wasnt backed into a corner enough to awaken it, however probably subconsciously triggered a cold burst during the fire that "killed him" and most likely passed out during the fire so wouldnt remember that he did. Would love to hear your thoughts on this it's a fun theory.
I dont think he has a dormant ice quirk. What i do know is that he as a weakness to flames like ice (from his mom). His body created an imbalance of both of the quirks unlike Shoto. The white hair was probably symbolizing how he has a weak constitution to heat like his mom (she has white hair).
Dabi's Ice side Quirk could still be an evolution/unlock waiting to happen, Hair color changing could be Rei's genes kicking in but not the quirk which can happen now in the ongoing fight.. Dabi's flames are superior but Shoto has the advantage.. so Dabi has to be levelled up with something or other.. Even a Regeneration quirk from Shigaraki can help.. It will heal him back to normal for the burns and even tho it won't solve overheating, it will take out burns & let Dabi go far beyond his current limit
I think it's very obvious his hair was turning white because he took on some his mom's genes, like the manga said. Stress is a far off reason for me, because his whole head was white and he was immune to fire before his hair started turning white
@@sm9800 If he was immune to his fire before Rei's genes kicked in what's not to say it has it's own benefits, if his weakness to fire is due to having the body of an Ice quirk user then it's possible that Fire quirk users might be weak to Ice or Water or something like that; something an Ice quirk user might be resistant to, so Touya could be a super hard counter against Ice users provided he doesn't burn himself too much (and super screwed against over Fire users).
My theory is that basing on the fact that only his wrist was injured when Toya activated his quirk and his hand is not injured, is that some parts of his body can produce ice quirk and some fire. In this case when producing a lot of fire it will cause the parts or patches of his skin to be susceptible to fire and some are resistant.
nah cuz then Shoto's left hand would be burnt. I suspect Dabi also has half cold, but in his legs instead of one side of his body, and that's how he got out of the fire alive

The revlations we've been seeing unfold with Dabi exposing Endeavor and experiencing his current life because of Endeavor is so heartbreaking, because it alll could have been avoided. BEST posting since the Greek Mythology one. A path that Endeavor was too blind to see. He could have had an entire family of heroes but was only focused on a single, limited goal.
Hopefully you see my comment but I just wanted to play devil’s advocate for a moment. Endeavor definitely was a dirt bag but him seeing that touya had a weak constitution for his quirk and stopped his training not to label him as a failure but to save his life. We’ve seen many times what happens throughout the series when your body can’t handle your quirk thanks to Deku. Deku was told that if he keeps breaking his arm he wouldn’t be able to use them but we understand that gradually his body would be able to handle one for all. Touya’s body would not adapt to handle his quirk so in a situation where he would have to go plus ultra Touya would likely kill himself due to the self destructive nature of his quirk. Endeavor wanted to spare his from this future by destroying any hopes of his son trying to become an hero. This would be similar to how Batman is, he definitely pushed the robins and sometimes he came off as cold, heartless, and a jerk but it was out of a place of care.

He knows how dangerous the hero world is especially being a child of the top hero. I feel like this is exactly what dabi was trying to do which is why he got burned in the accident and was presumed dead. So after that accident he gave up on being a hero and became a villan
Yeah, he probably overexerted himself to impress his father but then he wasn't able to control his fire that's why the fire incident happened and he "died"
The sad thing is; Touya loved Endeavor as a hero until endeavor started treating them all badly. To Touya, Endeavor had always been the no 1, but of course, it's endeavor. Now we have Dabi (and I'm not complaining)
Loved the theory behind this hypothesis. I enjoyed your twist on his motivations. It was great to see how you maintained the character's sense of being and personality while including that resentment towards his father. Touya would have made a great hero liked you said and it was interesting to see your take on how he handles his own weaknesses, strengths and aspirations towards being a man better than his father. It would have made excellent scenes in the manga and anime to see how he acts as a brother with shoto as they both would share the same motivations with different methodologies and values. Honestly, I also believe that Tonya would try to incorporate his siblings more into his life as a hero as you said but if not then I imagine him using a support item/suit similar to synthetic skin that could help regulate the temperatures he outputs and heal over burned skin when he pushes his limits, it'd look like the burns Dabi has in terms of location but it would be designed not to be gruesome to see. Other than that, I love this dabi content! It's really been helping me keep up with the manga since I've been busy with college and these hypothetical videos really have some interesting concepts behind of them.

Did Dabi burn up as a child because his body didn't develop resistance to his own heat yet? Is it like when Deku first got his quirk and kept injuring himself? Would his skin never have burned if he just trained to control his heat output to match his heat resistance over time?
I still think we need more flashbacks from Endeavour and his wife's pov. Up to this point we've only seen Shoto's a few times and one from Endeavour. And that one alone offers some change in the dynamic, like the fact that He was willing to accept not having a half and half child after a few attempts, but instead it was Rei who urged him to keep trying.
I am curious what would have happened if Endeavor had tried to work it out instead of just trying again with a new kid. As a top Hero he would surely have had no problem in getting support gear for his kid, to try any negate the ill effects of Touyas fire quirk. And they did have their second child as support for him. So he could have had her train with them and cool Touya down. Endeavor could have raised an amazing Hero, one who actually wanted to train with him unlike his other siblings.
Just throwing a what if out there. What if the anime turns into a master mind behind all villians and heros. And they all have to work together?? Or what if after Dabi reveals himself as Touya he does not die or what if Endeavor dies??? IDK I am so curious what is going to happen next...
There must be a reason for why his hands don't get brutally destroyed by his quirk. Touya and even the other Todoroki members (even Rei) could have been very great heroes if it wasn't for Endeavour's warped expectations

Can I just say that Shouto is like 11 or 12 years younger than Touya. Shouto was five when Touya “burned alive” so that would make Touya like 16 or 17 when he was burned. Which is weird to think about since everyone pictured him being a little kid when this happens. I guess in the long run it makes sense because at around that age he would have more abilities to move around and wisdom since he isn’t as young as was previously inferred. As for his surgery he probably stole some money from Endeavor’s bank account to pay for the massive amounts of surgery he had. I don’t know what this knowledge will do but you’ve been informed.

Can I just say that Shouto is like 11 or 12 years younger than Touya. Shouto was five when Touya “burned alive” so that would make Touya like 16 or 17 when he was burned. Which is weird to think about since everyone pictured him being a little kid when this happens. I guess in the long run it makes sense because at around that age he would have more abilities to move around and wisdom since he isn’t as young as was previously inferred. As for his surgery he probably stole some money from Endeavor’s bank account to pay for the massive amounts of surgery he had. I don’t know what this knowledge will do but you’ve been informed.

He would’ve been in his second year when the accident happened. I’m wondering if he did go to a hero school, then he had his “death” and the school just never mentioned it. If endeavor was smart he should had paired dabi with the ice base user brother. That way dabi can be chilled off since his body can resist ice and maybe heat up the brother if he gets too cold
