Not going to lie, you're videos inspire beyond belief. I've moved from digital, to film (35mm, then to medium format), and i couldn't care less for other photographers, (even Ansel Adams, or Ian Ruhter). You are an outstanding photographer with a ton of soul. I Implore you to keep making prints, keep going with you're awesome ideas. You've given me hope for bigger and better ideas and a more artistic way to go about photography. I would love to purchase one of your prints. Thank you very much. - Söl
Thank you mate! I live behind God's back and these videos are keeping my standards highest as I can make them. I will do more videos about the creative thinking before even picking up a camera. This is so important. And I will not be offering tutorials, I will just offer insight into my way of thinking - for better or worse. Thx for the attention!
Thanks Borut holding your time for sharing! I've been following you since a long time. Greetings from Quebec. I think Sally Mann has a lot to do in Wet plate resurgence. Keep doing what you are good at!
I made one a few months ago that is very similar! Except I use a lot of blackout material as a body sleeve - I wrap the material around me and use a bungee cord to tighten it.
hi Borut! Love all your videos, amazing work and so inspiring!! Do you remeber where you found that magnetic ballhead where the red LED light gets attached ? thanks and keep up the good work
Nice functioning box! You mentioned in the video it was your prototype. Did you ever make a final box or even still use that box? I haven’t noticed it in current videos, of course I haven’t watched all the current ones yet, I’m working on that.
Some time ago I did it inside my truck, but I found it uncomfortable, I'm looking for a bigger truck, Renault Master L3H2, to be able to get on foot, but if I adapt this system, to work it from the outside, it could be very practical. I'm already starting to draw the plans !!! Thank you very much Borus
think about rail system. you know, park your car, open the back of your truck and pull out the darkbox that is on rails. workstation on rails is a standard option for plumbers and other people who work on the field.
I have a Kodak Autographic Brownie 3A and your photo made me very excited! I saw some adapters to make it 6x12 (MF) or even 6x14 and seeing wet plate taken with it is really amazing! Do you have any advice on repairing the bellows? Mine are leaky AF. A big hug!
Kev Smith wonderful! I can't give you advice about camera bellow. to order new one for 3A would ckst more then the "new" Brownie 3A. good luck, enjoy photography! greetings aus Berlin !-)
Bist du in Berlin? Wunderbar!! Ich ziehe nach Deutschland in August :) I think I'll spray the bellows with paint or plastidip or even make my own out of cardboard and fabric.
Sally Mann does very beautiful wet plates as well. However she seems to differ from you in that she wants her plate to be imperfect. Her plates drip and have wrinkles etc. It is fun to watch the different methods and aesthetics of various artist.
+terry breedlove indeed, Sally Mann is the reason why I took wet plate process in the first place. She can afford to do whatever she pleases, she was the first to do imperfect wet plates in contemporary art (in her league) and I want to be one of the few who would do perfect plates in contemporary art - in her league! I'm still far from the league, but at least I've conquered the technical aspect of it :-)
It's the cover of the box, so the light does not get in and liquid does not spill out. I'm not sure if that is what you wanted to ask, but I did answered war you've asked :-)
+David Nash you are correct, it would. But I've made only one plate that day, the one that is in the sink. I wanted to try out the workflow. If it would be very hot or very cold, I would add a spoon of table salt per litre, so it would prevent water from freezing, but salt would also react with silver-nitrate, ending the development immediately.
I'm quite jealous of your wet plate mobile! Well done!

+Borut Peterlin Thank you for your answer ;) oh yes I didn't express well. What is the purpose of this object?
It's the cover of the box, so the light does not get in and liquid does not spill out. I'm not sure if that is what you wanted to ask, but I did answered war you've asked :-)
