Your boys should have got you a rangefinder along with the crossbow target. I can hear the excitement in your voice that you are ready to go for this season. Sorry but go PATS after their rebuild we can use another 6 rings. Hope you get a good buck but hey does taste just as good, have fun and stay safe.
I got myself a rangefinder and that helped a lot ~ didn’t get a shot w crossbow this season but did bag some meat w my rifle. Will try again next year. Thanks for the positive feedback.
When you get your target get a range finder too. You should have reticles in the scope going from 10 or 20 to 50-100 yards if the scope has a speed ring it works best if you go to the scope max yardage. But yes you need a good target to stop bolts absolutely.
First mistake I ever made was not buying a decent target. I destroyed more expensive bolts on a cheep ass target than I care to admit. Bow is one thing, crossbow is whole different animal.
get a bag target rated to stop xbow arrows....saves damaging your vanes or losing/ruining arrows....makes pulling them easier too. shoot matching weight broadheads, good stout mechanicals are easiest to deal with. have fun!!!! if you need info/help, let me know. i've learned a bunch of this xbow stuff by shooting vertical bows and eyesight disability forced me to go xbows or stay home during deer season!
Get one rated higher speed than your crossbow speed. I shoot a new wicked ridge raider 400 decock crossbow. I have a bag target for field points. And a broadhead target also. U will mess the fetching up on your arrows. I wouldn't use tin as a backing. The arrows are 12.00 to 20.00 each a arrow. I just bought a dz of custom arrows. 200.00 plus a dz.
I know i am going to get some hate for this, but here is an inexperience person who knows very little about archery or eve crossbows for tbat matter but look how quickly she is able to go BOWHUNTING with a crossbow....and i own a crossbow but this proves how much of advantage a crossbow is
You have valid point. Physically I can’t pull a bow back that will kill. So I’m thankful for the law and if they change it well I guess I’ll have to wait till regular season. Sorta like playing the tax code. Use it while you can and when they change it I guess pivot it and use it too. Thank you for your comment though.
I’m going to correct you right there when you use a crossbow that the arrows they are not called that they are called bolts when you shoot them from a crossbow when you shoot them from a bow and arrow a compound bow they are called arrows
Start at 6 yards which the trajectory will be on at 40 (the ark of the arrow). Before you shoot at 40 sight it in at 20. But start everything at 6 yards.

Good job on the crossbow!
A better rest and a better target and you'll get it dialed in!!

Get the self sealing. So glad I did. Buy it once, cry once
I learned that really fast. Hoping this year will go better. Thank you for your comment.
I’ll look into that ~ thanks for the advice. I’ll take all I can get. Hoping this year I better luck and better skills. Thanks for the comment

Хороший арбалет
I have the same bow and you really need to purchase a better target that’s rated for 350 plus FPS!

Talk to much
