I am a Michigan guy, a lions fan who loved Barry Sanders. When Barry said Walter was the greatest running back ever,I took his word for it. I loved watching him.
That was an OUTSTANDING tribute by his brother. It had me smiling and nearly in tears. Hard to believe it's been 20 years since his passing. WALTER " SWEETNESS " PAYTON , THE MOST COMPLETE RUNNING BACK OF ALL TIMES. RIP 💘
GREAT COMMENT! You know something...this is the first time i saw this funeral event (i eluded all the tragic reality of his passing) As one of his (walters) greatest fans and football idolizers it still hurts when i think of his passing. I guess this is a personal testament of my complete acceptance of his passing. I remeMber most his efforts to get involved with ownership sometime b4 his death. In my mind the NFL showed thier true colors at that time and looked past his corprate bid just as they did when KAPERNICK urged them to take a stronger stand against racial bigotry in our communities. If payton were still alive i think he would have been very outspoken in these matters. May he always be blessed in peace. Om namah Sivaya.
Eddie Payton played in the NFL just like his Brother Walter Payton did and he will be remembered as a Chicago Bear Running Back and a pro football hall of Famer too and I never thought how much he was loved by his family and friends and fans and it's just a shame that he didn't make it to his 50's but unfortunately he didn't though and I pray for the Payton Family for awhile and now I'm still heartbroken about his death in the 90's (1999)
Not ever........Hines Ward did it ALL TOO, he caught and ran the ball very well and he would knock your head off while blocking for a steelers ball carriers Another complete football player but Payton was a special talent no doubt about it.
@@umarabdul-ali6868 Hines was very versatile but Payton was the best runner in the game at his time I don’t think anyone would argue Hines was the best receiver of his time thats the difference
Hines Ward. Come on now...Great player he was, sure. We're talking about Walter Payton, a HOFr, a league MVP, a 5x first team all pro, and member of both the 70s and 80s all decade teams. The best of the best.
Words are not enough to speak on such a great an talented man with mot many flaws..my mom was more of a fan, born in Mississippi an knowing the likes of such a man..GOD,take care of our beloved brother, for the world miss such strength an determination..R.I.P Walter Payton, chicago really misses our hero..
The best football player ever who ever you put number 2 is still a 1000 miles away. He bigger thsn even MJ in the city of Chicago. Wish he was with us he never be forgotten especially when his stature in front of Soldiers Field.
As a kid I would run down the football field And would always pretend I was Walter Payton. My brother and I would play football inside the house and play “over the top” as we called it, just to emulate Walters ability to jump over the line like no other to score! Now today as 40 year old adult, I use Walter for motivation, determination and fight to try and beat this cancer I have! He was and Is my role model, and the day I have my surgery, June 2, 2022 will proudly walk into University of Chicago Hospital wearing my navy blue and orange #34 Jersey! 🙏❤️
I wonder who punched the 5 thumbs down Packer fans? This is a tough thing to do give a eulogy for a family member you loved, I've done it and could barely get through. This was great.
I grew up a rocks through from the Football practice field at Jackson state university. It’s where the Science Bldg is now. My home was across the street from WOKJ radio station and WJMI. For those who grew up in that area Lynch street and Valley street intersection. You know what I’m talking about. We had Jobby Martin restaurant and does anybody remember JSU Baseball field next to the Little League Baseball field. During the summer it use to be packed with people. I had an opportunity as a 9 and 10 year old To watch Walter Payton, Jackie Slater and Robert Brazil practice football and Watch them play in the Mississippi Memorial stadium and listen to them on the radio when they were away from Jackson. Those were the days I would never forget coach Bob Hayes allowed me to get up close and watch. Man those were the days when the practice field was across the street from the Snake Pit where the JSU basketball team played. Who remember purvis Short drafted to the Golden State Warriors. I am 56 now there’s got to be some people who I grew up with still alive today that remember. That was around 1974 and 1975.
R i p mr. Walter Payton one of the greats to ever play I'm pretty sure Bo Jackson wore 34 because of you and I really feel for his family especially his mother she looks so destruct
I was at the Chicago Cubs game after the 85 season and watched Walter and his son throw out the first pitch, but Walter threw a football instead! The only athlete in my life that I could truly call a Role Model!!
