    I come back to watch this eulogy periodically to remind myself that once upon a time, Democrats and Republicans could agree on one thing if no other: they loved our country and wanted to preserve our Democracy. In his extraordinarily graceful eulogy, Barack Obama demonstrates what it means to respect and admire a political opponent while at the same time disagreeing with him. I'm a lifelong Democrat, but I am very sorry there are no John McCains left among us. He was a tower of decency whose like, I fear, we will not see again.

    President Obama is a master of communication. he is a brilliant orator, with his way to respectfully say things with a sense of humor in John McCain's eulogy. he has an excellent command of the English language for sure. even though they were fierce rivals for the Presidency. this shows that they had a great deal of respect for each other. and that's how it should be after all.

      I hope the Republican party goes back to the John McCain party from the Donald Trump party. John McCain understood that because he was a Republican he did not have to oppose everything a Democrat ever said but instead help the country move forward. Also at debates and in the Senate, McCain always attacked someone's ideas but never their character. I wish he was still with us today because he would be furious at Trump and the other Republicans that supported the armed insurrection of the country he sacrificed his life for. If he was a can assure you that he would be calling on Republicans to impeach Trump for his crime.

      @@rushinbought2937 Someone might be telling us that decency and political correctness always mask nastiness. This is not true. If we believe it, we might be tempted to conclude that indecency and incorrectness automatically betray hidden kindness. This neither is true nor follows from the first. Even if a show of niceness were always dishonest, that wouldn't make a show of nastiness any less horrible. Just because some people may pretend to be smoother than they are, we don't need to celebrate the ones who act the self-centered, conceited bully. We need to stop believing those who sling dirt in the name of "saying it like it is". Instead, we should question their honesty. We should ask whether they're really the lone voice of truth they may claim to be or whether they're attention-seekers hoping to profit from our desperate need to hear something different, anything different, from our belief that anything different must be better than the platitudes we get to hear on a daily basis. Optimism shouldn't fool us into assuming that the grass must be greener elsewhere. It shows a dangerous lack of imagination if we think political correctness the peak of depravity and follow anyone who mirrors this belief.

    This is statesmanship. This is a Democrat leader giving the eulogy for a former Republican leader, once opponents for President of the United States. Do you realize how powerful this is? Treating all people fairly is representing the character of America is how President Obama described John McCain. “The spirit of striving to be better, to do better ...” above party lines. This is why children could have aspired to become President of the United States. No one is perfect, you can only strive to be the best you can be and to help bring out the best in others to achieve the best outcome for all. Let you without sin cast the first stone

    Never forget that McCain was the deciding vote in whether or not they would repeal Obamacare. And he voted not in favor of repealing, only one of three republicans to do so. When asked why he didn't vote yes with the other republican part members, McCain said "I don't work for the Republican Party. I work for the people of Arizona and the people of America, and taking away health coverage for 600,00 people would not be helping them."

    I think this eulogy always brings me to tears for two reasons; first, it makes me realize a profound regret that I was one of the few who allowed politics to distort my view of John McCain and not fully appreciate the fidelity of his service to our country until he was no longer here;
    second, it is just the most overwhelmingly beautiful display of what our politics can be when we are at our best. The incredible surprise of Senator McCain asking the man who stood as the victor in his most prolific moment of defeat is a level of humility that leaves me speechless to this day.
    And President Obama’s masterful performance and portrait of a man with whom he vehemently disagreed but admired, respected, and loved is just the best display of compassion I have ever witnessed. I watch this every month to remind myself that I am a part of the greatest human experiment known to man, and I owe it to the lives I’ll never know to give my best to whomever I can as often as I can.

He will become more and more shamed by us as we can review his record... President Trump was thought to be racist by the lamestream media liars... We all know that they lie and attempt to manipulate us by now right??? Or do you watch cnn, msnbc, cbs, abc, nbc or fix news? They are being shed off all of us at an alarming rate (for them)! Layoffs and even bankruptcy looms over these despicable narrative-driving manipulators! The Millennials, whom we have informed of the evil narrative-driven, non-journalistic integrity media as being the enemy of freedom and our people, are five steps ahead of us! Lamestream media will fail and we have no sympathy for their warranted demise! "Sky News", "Rebel Media", "OAN", "Newsmax", Nextnewsnetwork", etc... are "blowing up"! cnn and msnbc are floundering and will likely regain our trust! These aforementioned news agencies are bursting through the roof!
      Hate to lose Tucker, Ingram, The Five and even Hannity, but Fox news may have gone Rogue! We all unsubscribed a time or two, but may pull the plug permanently in favor of quality alternative news!!!
