@@KangoV Well it's a SWAT patrol vehicle, not an MRAP or full on APC. It's meant to handle criminal level weaponry, not enemy military AT weaponry.
Since if they have say 10 kg AT Mine to blow out the non V bottom hull, they also have RPG-7 or M73 LAW and it will just cut through even the thickest of the side plates on that thing.
The below plate will probably handle what it is meant for: Which is number 1: someone molotov fireballing under it. Number 2: someones home made pipebomb aka small IED, thrown under or driven over. 3: criminals have managed to get their hands on stolen military hand grenades.
It's light armored patrol vehicle. Not a tank, not even a full on APC. If the criminals have scored a stolen AT launcher for themselves, well better get the bazooka guy before they get anything police would have. At that point call national guard with actual medium or heavy armored assets.

I was a gunner in Afghanistan for 9 months. I was a CROWS gunner (MRAP) for the last half. I was in ASVs also and I drove them both too. I am all too familiar with these types of vehicles. The doors are air controlled on the rear of MRAPS and once you push that button you need to be clear of the door motion. You can operate them manually too but they are heavy. We would drift MRAPS through the deepest mud, accelerating sideways through the ruts and you couldn’t stop them. Off-roading in an ASV is actually even better. We would stagger them, CROWS MRAP out front, ASV, then MRAP then ASV. 11B

We get purpose built quirky and strange vehicles reviewed, and Doug gets to have fun doing not only that, but also getting a look at a vehicle he does not get to see often.

Few things that bother me greatly.
*Why are the lights operated by remote control? If the batteries in those remotes go dead those are useless. Why is there no wired control?
*Locks seem to be fairly weak, easily bypassed.
*External hinges and window frames with common used bolts, easily dissasembled.
*Cheap chinese camera's mounted as backup cameras.
I get that the point is to protect the occupants, but a little better design wouldn't be a bad idea.
