    Lowkey you did the best job I've ever seen of an instructional video, nobody usually includes bolt sizes and tips and tricks, just wanted to say I appreciate that attention to detail man thanks!

      @@Fullthrottle440Garage Oh hey by the way! It should be a 9/16ths 12 point socket for the wheel hub bolts! That 15mm prolly stripped it out haha

    My son and I are changing the u joints on his F350. Hasn’t been fun, they were all toast and we needed to get a new double cardan ball and seal. Plus it was freezing rain today and the parts didn’t match up LOL. Good fix, wish we would have done this in the summer.

    The bolts are 9/16 not 15mm that's why it rounded off and you had to beat a 14 on but other than that thanks alot helped me a bunch

    Thanks. Getting ready to restore a 99 1500 Quad-Cab with 300k on it. Needs a complete front end rebuild in order to take it off-road again, and been trying to figure out how much I can do on my own, versus sending to the mechanic. Might need some bigger tools in the 1/2 drive range, but looks like something I can tackle given time and patience.

      Yup , these trucks are fairly simple to work on if you have the right tools!

    Well I'm south of you anyway.

    Good fix. Happy Motoring.

    Thank you my forward drive axles are as torn up as that one is, helps to know that you can pull the axle shaft out and not have to pull the diff cover to remove c clip retainers, my worry is that i might have problems with the seals in there,

    I reccomend a small propane torch and two bottles of fuel if no air hammer. Heat around the bearing seat

    Cutting torch always works better than a air hammer on getting the u joint out

  • @JB-bb1zw
    @JB-bb1zw 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Have none of you guys ever heard of a ball joint press, an arbor press or a hydraulic press? You should never hammer a ujoint in, ball joint presses are free rentals from auto parts stores and when u put these parts back together u should use copper neversieze,, not the aluminum cause the aluminum will oxidize from the road salt

    The job would of gone better if you used a torch plus the only thing that should be used to clean out the cup holes is sandpaper or a small wire brush . Never take any metal from the cup holes .

    • @Fullthrottle440Garage

    Hey brother, so I have a 94 1500. It's 4x4 but the front part is disconnected. The housing was cracking. But recently I've had to change the wheel bearings twice on my passenger side. I replaced the whole hub assembly both times. Both bearings were blown. The second one, literally on the test drive. They both burst while I was backing up. Could it be the Ujoints?

    • @Fullthrottle440Garage
      @Fullthrottle440Garage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe, I've never heard of that happening

      @@Fullthrottle440Garage I got it all fixed up brother. All new Tie rods, new sterring stabilizer, new axel nuts, new axel shaft. I had lost the spacer for the axel nut, and both the axel nut and threads on the spindle were stripped. Tool me two days, an extra because I thought it was a center link and had to wait for the part, took it it home and realized it was the stabilizer. Anyways, thanks for replying man. It took some head scratching but I figured it out. Probably saved me 1000 by doing it myself. Only costs me about 600 in parts or so.

      @@Fullthrottle440Garage next I'm gonna start working on Internal components. Do you know anything about IAC Valves? I'm pretty sure that's next. It kind of floods out at low speeds. I'm looking for a transmission too.

    • @Fullthrottle440Garage
      @Fullthrottle440Garage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@waydebaker33 I replaced my iac not long ago. Pretty easy. Two little torqs bolts and the connector. At the back of throttle body. My transfer case blew up and left me stranded about a week ago. I'm looking for a transfer case now. My truck is a 5 speed so it's a little harder to find the transfer case for that than an Auto one.

      @@Fullthrottle440Garage Nice. Sorry to hear about your transfer case. If you're anywhere near San Diego, A+B truck dismantling is the place to go. I literally just left their warehouse yesterday, and they have it. I promise they do. Multiples of it.

    Shouldn't of used a chrome socket or a 12 point. An impact would of been wise especially since you have a compressor.

  • @Scorpio-tn4vy

    Use a block of wood to hammmer on or a vise to press them in, bending the ears isn't all that difficult.
