I remember two different kinds. One was a hardened sugar stick with the end painted red. The other was a rolled up powdered gum that you could blow on and "smoke" would come out.

Planters Cheese Balls came back around 2020ish, but I think they're gone again. At least they're gone from everywhere I was able to buy them at... Man they are so good they just melt in your mouth their is nothing like them. I miss them all over again 😢
I can still taste the original flavor hubba bubba as I jump on my bmx bike and ride to my small town’s neighborhood kid pick up ball game with a tennis ball. The ‘80’s were the best times!

The commercials were legit memorable and fun as kids in the 80’s too. Commercials today are just boring and a major inconvenience. Those commercials for kids on the 80’s and 90’s made us just want the snacks and toys even more! 😂

Candy or snacks in the 80s was equivalent to looking around a record store or a coloectibles shop, as a kid I spent time trying to figure out what i wanted, because therecwas so many great choices to pick from

In the '70s Hi-C had Citrus Cooler, among it's many flavor offerings. In the '80s it was "re-branded" as Ecto Cooler, but it was the exact same drink, same color, too

Yeah, everything does. I saw they still sell PeanutButter Caption Crunch. I bought a box because it was my favorite as a kid. It tastes nothing like it did, and it barely tastes anything like peanut butter. Threw it away.
Choco Bliss was very good... I miss the Langendorf/ Mickey's snack cakes, especially The Fudge Bar and Boom Booms which were like a milk chocolate Ding- Dong

@20:00 That is Patrick Wayne, John Wayne's oldest son advertising Marathon Bar. When those were first put out in the 70s the inside of the wrapper had a 12-inch ruler to show the candy was a full foot long. They removed the ruler in the 80s when they downsized the candy.
A few years ago, a nostalgic urge hit me to go buy some Carnation breakfast bars... I went looking around my local supermarket, trying to find them among the cereals and energy bars. Yeah there was something about them, that slightly gritty, not-quite-sweet experience!
The gum with the liquid center. Root beer flavored everything. The tragedy that was the discovery of green apple flavor, that then pushed out my favorite lime flavor in every single candy, gum, popsicle, etc.
I don't remember Fruit Wrinkles or Giggles, but I was almost addicted to Whatchamacallit, Bar None, and Marathon Bars. And Choco Bliss and Pudding Pops were just the best.
Fruit wrinkles were the best fruit snacks ever!!! Fruit roll ups at that time too. They actually used fruit. I remember the occasional strawberry seed in the fruit roll ups. Shame they are not the same.

They were my favorite candy as a kid, I remember hearing that they were coming back, but they never did.

Nestle Alpine is missed. The commercials were great too. I was sold on it because of them. Especially the jingle.

Fun Fact: When it was first released in 1978, Whatchamacallit did not have any caramel. The Caramel came later.
