Wow, this was super helpful! I’ve definitely made a few of these mistakes in the past, but your tips will help me avoid them moving forward. Thanks for breaking it all down so clearly.
Thank you for all your informative videos :) Question 1 - Any tips on how to prevent other people or AI copying/stealing your designs? Can you make a video for that? Question 2 - Do you hold onto the designs and wait till you have 20-40 designs before uploading them?
Hi Greg! I can’t thank you enough for all of your POD videos. I just got started about a week ago. Do you remember how long it took to make your first sale? I have 30 designs so far, on Red and Tee, and I hope to add 10-15 each week. Next stop…my Amazon MOD application. 😊
Thanks! I did the same for many years, it’s fun when you enjoy it. As far as business advice, you’re definitely right: speed while retaining quality is the name of the game. I’ve got a good video I’m putting together to help in this department too 👍
The thing about Canva is that you are allowed to use the design images, even if they are copyrighted, as long as you combine it with other things. I don't know about templates, since I don't use those, but the individual images are allowed so long as you don't just slap one image on the page and call it good.
@@GregGottfried I actually do have a question good sir and hopefully this is a simple one but once you've completed your design, would you recommend adding the same design to multiple platforms (etsy, teepublic, merch by amazon, etc.) or should you keep the designs to designated platforms without mixing them up?
@@godspeedforevertv Great question! Yes I absolutely recommend uploading them to multiple platforms. You own the rights to them so I’d maximize your exposure 👍
Hi Gregg, I just saw your 2024 tutorial, it was amazing. Thank you so much for your time, advice, and generosity in sharing your knowledge. I have a question about ensuring the original text I right is protected. If I have a good phrase/text idea I am worried about being copied, should I first get it copyrighted/trademarked, or does posting it alone give me any protection? I live in canada. Thank you again so much for your advice:)
Different countries pronounce things differently. Tomato, herb, vitamin etc. Canada, UK and USA are all heavily English speaking yet we all have our own pronunciations. I'm not saying some words don't sound strange to be but I take into consideration my way is not 💯
Is it ok if we didn't use the template from canva but like using the graphics from the graphics library to make our design and use it for the pod ? Will it get a copyright ?
You’re videos are always helpful and we appreciate you! Can you please please make a video about how to submit a resale tax exemption certificate thru Printify. I search about that and couldn’t find a single video showing how to do it and difference between SSTGB and MTC. That will be a huge help with new starters. Thanks in advance.
I would recommend just being aware of active vs passive print on demand. The main thing is using printify you will have to do your own advertising to bring buyers. Here's a good video explaining this in more detail: th-cam.com/video/f27fhxJ7b10/w-d-xo.html Hope that helps and I'm here if you run into any questions!
Thanks! Yes it’s still active 👍 The discount is automatically applied when you use the link that’s in the description of the video. If you run into any questions just let me know!
I thought you could use Canva graphics, you just can’t use one graphic by itself. So either you have to add words or multiple graphics and make it your own. Is that correct?
Great question! I was able to create several other streams of income over the years so I don't rely solely on POD as my main business. This allows me to share the really valuable bits of info about the business that most sellers don't want to 'give away'. Hope that makes sense and helps answer your question! As always, if you run into any questions just let me know 👍
Hey greg I am trying to make seller account on Spreadshirt for 2 days but as I try to sign up it is showing error 405 not allowed. Can you please tell me what should I do now ?
Your advice about not using AI is definitely wise if you're using the ones that knock off and steal, scrape the internet but they're big big names out there doing it. But if you use Adobe Photoshop generative AI or Adobe Firefly, that should certainly not be a problem. Since all of their computers are trained on their own images that they own or they license the rights to.
Hey Greg..I know this is random for you but I can help you to get more audience retention and engage them through our video editing service... another great video. thanks, greg.🙌🙌
Thanks again!
What about fonts? They have their own “standard and commercial” licensing restrictions. I thought this should’ve been mentioned as well.
Yes absolutely! Some graphic tools have all commercial usage fonts, while others have standard/personal use, or copyrighted, fonts.
This is good work by you sir with this information as always. TY
Much appreciated. If you run into any questions just let me know 👍

Great video Greg! When creating designs on amazon merch on demand is there a need to create a line of © Copyright 2024 at the bottom of the design? I f you have a website are you allowed to print that address on the bottom of your design on amazon?
Thanks Greg

V useful tips, Sir. Weldone
Thank you!
Great tips, thank you :) Are the AI text apps in Canva ok for commercial use?
why is Kittl not on the top of your list for copyright-free design software?
Bro i really admire your work, i want to do it to but, i have my designs drawn by hands on paper how can i put it up there..?
I see a lot of shirts where the png of the graphic used doesn't have a transparent background.
I agree! That’s another overlooked mistake to be added to the list
Thank you .
You are welcome! 🙏
Is it ok if we didn't use the template from canva but like using the graphics from the graphics library to make our design and use it for the pod ? Will it get a copyright ?
Great question. Unfortunately the graphics in the library are not all copyright-free so it’s risky to use for POD

I want to create design about anime character I want to know where it is copyrighted or not it's my own creativity
All in all you cannot do anything and can’t even start your POD unless you start designing on your own.
