      Oh god etsy consultant 🙄 every single video " get to 100 listings, one a day, have good pictures, get to 100 listings, one a day, have good pictures, get to 100 listings, one a day, have good pictures". On repeat. every single. . Video. I dont know how he doesn't bore himself. And then he always bitches about other channels and they're "not like him, he's the real deal". If you have to repeat that youre the real deal it's a problem. Don't trust him. He's not someone I would go for a pint with.

    Hi Shimmy, FYI - Dylan's course is $2,500 without coaching but it can cost more than 5K-10K with unlimited coaching (depending on the length of time you choose). The reason why I know is I was one of her students. In my opinion, her course is good if you like driving your own traffic through social media (which I don't like to do) and if you have a handmade business (she's really good with strategies on that because her shop is handmade). I have a print on demand shop and I struggle mostly with design and her course focuses mainly on how to run a business as a whole and they don't teach you how to design, etc...If someone is new to print on demand, and have a limited budget, I recommend Cassiy Johnson, Heather Studio and Simply Shawna (you didn't mention Shawna here but she's great) for free content. I agree with you, I would NOT spend that kind of money on a course on etsy.

    • @ifeifesi
      @ifeifesi 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +12

      Cassiy Johnson actually gained momentum for her shop by using trademarked items like Disney etc so her success was not done honestly and certainly she isn't one to emulate.

    Thank you for your video! I'm just starting out, no shop yet, but something weird happened to me looking around (as a shopper) on Etsy last week. I went on the website, looked at two t-shirts from the same seller and the next shirt I tried to look at went to a page that gave me a message like 'You have visited too many products (?, can't remember the exact word) lately'. Wish I would have screen shot it. The message came up twice, once again after I looked at mugs or something else. I thought to myself "Why would a company selling ANYTHING try to drive clients away." Really blew my mind and made me wonder about even using them at all. Not sure I will.

This is something that many you tubers forget about, but it is essential for the process to reach your goals. No, Alex's strategy is to steal from people who have really good ideas and flood that market niche. I don't think I've ever heard him come up with an original idea. I put him at a never tier and that goes for anyone stealing an idea and makes a hundred variations little different from the original and calling it their own. He basically destroying the person who came up with the original concept. What a nice guy. I also disagree about anyone using Ai to create t-shirts unless it's a variation of their original artwork.

    • @dan-dv2tn
      @dan-dv2tn 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's called business. You move slow, you'll get left behind. It's not about being first, it's about doing it right with respect to your driving incentives, e.g good product Vs profit... Etc people should expect competition. Amazon's own branded goods, are from doing the same thing!!! Stealing profitable ideas.

    • @scollins4436
      @scollins4436 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@dan-dv2tn There is a big difference from seeing a great idea and using aspects of the concept in a different way than just taking someones idea and stealing all of their customers. If you think that just stealing an idea and stealing customers is great for you then you may want to reconsider, because one day you could find yourself in a lawsuit that could cost you a lot of money. Be original, get a trade mark, get a copyright and warn anyone who decides to infringe on your product. If they don't listen sue them for all of the money they were making off of your product plus damages to your product brand. Never lie, never steal, never think that you are better then the guy who came up with the original idea. Never take advantage of anyone. If you do it will cost you sooner or later.

    If I could make a suggestion though. In future edits, perhaps you could put the full names on the videos, perhaps under their pictures, or on the screen when youre talking about a specific creator. Failing that, links in the description to each creator would be amazing. Im not sure familiar with their full names or what their channels are called, and so anything to make it easier to go search for their content 🙂

    For me, Dylan is actually the one I feel I have learned the most from. I have watched most of the Etsy-based creators and would say she has the most scrappy, clever, and aggressive strategies out of the bunch in my opinion (although I still love Cassiy, Heather, and others). I have not bought her course so I can't speak on that, but I do know that she focuses heavily on scaling your business very quickly so that you are hiring out everything and making 6 figures fast, so I think some people buying the course may not realize that and are looking for a different kind of business strategy advice? Does feel very expensive still though.

But he doesn't believe you skimp on research or quality. He teaches how to research best-selling items. And the idea of throwing up a lot of your listings after researching, is because even when you have done the research some of your items will sell and some won't. We all learn just as much from what doesn't sell as what does se,,. He also teaches about using AI to create designs. I guess the proof to me will be if I replicate his process and it works, lol!

    I am in Dylan’s course and her strategy is not only for POD. Her thing is helping students building a business starting with Etsy then she helps graduating Etsy if we choose to be independent on Shopify. Her strategy works for any type of ecommerce business. I don’t say the course is the best, the coaching part is very frustrating to be honest because they are all over the place and you don’t get one person to answer your questions. You get 4-5 coaches and each one of them have a different style so you end up more confused… But honestly the amount of information they have in the course is amazing. She teaches how to find trends and what type of products you need to add to your shop then the pricing strategy in phases. I think the course itself is worth it but coaching is not

I believe that the company she has who runs credit checks on potential students and handles the financing options also is the company that does her collections (although I don't know if they handle the court filings to recoup the money). The whole bit about not sharing the price of her course online (except for her "how to set up an Etsy shop" $1000 Quickstart) and the aggressive sales tactics with her "free call" remind me a lot of timeshare pitches. But because I enjoy data analysis, I was able to take videos that she shared on Instagram/TH-cam/Facebook, comments from her students, and looking over her students' shops and actually piece together the key things she loves to promote from her course (7 types of products was accidentally shared on an IG live; FB strategy can be figured out by looking at the pages for her students; aggressive pricing strategy can be pieced together by observing her students' shops; etc.). It probably took me about 20 hours over the course of a year to put it all together, but that was a much better investment than the $3000 course for me!

    Serious question here, if you could(or would) share,
    How long did it take you to start making good money just from your pod business, after you were serious about it and put in the work and hours needed?

      3 weeks to make some money, but that was with ads. Would be significantly longer without. Around 3 months to make something that can replace a 9-5

    I'd also totally agree with your ranking, except that you have been a bit not generous with Joe Robert. He deserves the top rank since he's also been in the business for long, albeit not sharing a lot about his shops, his designs on metal prints is a recent niche, if you check out his previous videos he's been sharing a lot of POD advice on Tshirts. Glad to see Cassiy in the list, I literally stumbled upon her channel when she was only 1000 subs old. Now a top voice o Etsy.

      It was mainly about their current strategies. And personal opinions. I’m not the biggest fan of metal signs. I don’t think they’re that scalable. That’s why. He’s got great content though

    I would like you to look at Bailey Designs.
    I got carried out when I started to take Etsy seriously and bought her course. However, now I find her not very good at teaching and not very transparent with her own shop. Specially with her private students.
    I could not afford Starla, but she will my go to when I can afford the next step.
    I am quite new on Etsy and only got 2 sales in different stores that never did well in 9 months.
    Thank you for your videos 👍

    Simply Shawna has a good channel centered around building a POD business on Etsy. She’s a former teacher so she has a great teaching style. I tried Dylan’s channel but wasn’t into her style of teaching. I want to say it comes off as less informative - like gives small tidbits as a way to get you to buy her course whereas Cassie and Shawna give you essentially everything you need to know to do what they have done. I applied all of their info and was able to do almost $300k revenue in my first full year. In order to make 6 figures I need to double that and I am trying. It’s definitely not easy 😅I’m starting a Shopify now based on your advice. I’m clueless about Facebook and advertising strategies though. Are there professionals who can do this? I have no idea where to start. I don’t have a social media presence.

      @Katsmom6 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Stunnaz84 I mean in order for me to personally profit 6 figures, I need to bring in about $600,000 in revenue. Not 7 figures. I did about $300,000 in revenue last year (my first full year). This year I need to double it. I am on track to but it’s not guaranteed. I still need to keep up my momentum and effort.

    • @Katsmom6
      @Katsmom6 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Stunnaz84 to be clear, if I do $600,000 this year, I will make between $120,000-$150,000 (excluding sales and things like fees for canva, Kittl, mockups and taxes). That’s my goal for this year. My profit margin is between 20 and 30 percent at the moment, depending on the product. I keep my prices competitive, and I run ads and sales often. This is on Etsy only. This year, I will have spent less on mockups as I’m now fully stocked with a large variety. I do plan to increase my ads budget though as we approach Q4. 7 figures would be nice. I’m not sure how realistic that is for me but I’m hoping that adding a Shopify store will help me increase my income.
