Good advice. I have recently gotten into the habit of tying my shoes. I always keep my sneakers washed and clean. Have been experimenting with different neck line and color tee shirts. Actually have gotten some random compliments. Since I work out try to find shirts that show off all the work. . I have numerous nice button down shirts. Try to keep them ironed for quick use. Loved it! Me personally - I like a more laid back/rugged/rustic clothing style: > rolled up long sleeves on button down shirts; or sweater/sweatshirt/henley sleeves shucked up > well fitting, relaxed cut jeans - any color other than white or cream > nice leather oxfords or derbies, or cowboy heel types ankle boots > steel toed work boots [yeah - I know! - what can I say - I have a thing for "blue collar" working men or men that work in hands-on professions] > casual jacket if weather requires, or a leather jacket > and as a handmade jewelry maker - I like to see a nice bracelet [any material - leather, beaded, chain, etc] to match a laid back, masculine clothing style, with or without a watch What I don't like to see on my first few dates [or never]: > suit and tie > slacks > shorts or any type, shape or style > jerseys or other sports gear type shirts > polo shirts or short sleeved button downs > sandals + socks, or flip-flops > really flashy, opulent Mr T. type chains and necklaces + gold teeth, LOL A few additional personal preferences or dislikes: Some tasteful or expressive ink is okay - excessive, full sleeves/whole body or facial ink - not so much. There has to be an exceptional "grown" man under that much color, for me to roll with it. An earring or two is fine, all over body piercings, or ueber-huge ear plug holes - that would be a NO for me. Comb-overs, LOL own it man! Shave it off and go bald if you want to, but don't do a hair piece or pretend you have hair where there isn't any... Uncombed beards and ueber sized mustaches: nicely groomed facial hair is a turn on, a wilderness bush with unidentified remains rotting in it - not happening.

Just before my health failed to the point of not being able to work, I considered getting a traditional, long overcoat. I found myself walking across the parking lot at work in ten degree weather with a twenty mile per hour wind. The wind would cut through the thighs of my pants and freeze my legs. I looked for over-pants at one time so that I could just throw them on over my regular pants to give myself an extra layer, but I never found any that seemed to be a good choice. I also considered getting some chaps, but that would look ridiculous. Maybe I could have made an overcoat work. Of course people own suits. In Florida they are inappropriate after hours for maybe 11 1/2 months out of the year. Layers in general do not work. My guess is Arizona is similar.
People in warm weather climates do indeed wear suits to events that require them. They wear lighter, more natural fabrics. They wear them in lighter colors. they wear them with less lining; unlined or partially lined. And they often ditch their jacket as soon as possible.
Hey Carey, you mentioned a suit, but what about a tux? I love to see a guy in a tux if the occasion warrants it - so sexy! I also like some higher quality golf shirts on guys in conservative colours, particularly if they're into golf.
well in a black tie only situation that’s appropriate and handsome. But not gonna help our guy who’s going out shopping for the new year or trying to find their vibe. 👍 ps. most women don’t find golf shirts hot. 🤷🏻♀️
Totally agree on the boxer briefs! Woman do not want to see tired looking underwear! No greyish baggy underwear. And a big yes, for sleeves rolled up. Perhaps for different reasons than you but I find men's arms sexy! I believe many women do. So an opportunity to reveal as asset without being in anyway immodest. Most importantly, be yourself. Dress true to who you are. Unless you like wearing flip flops on a first date and in that case, DON'T be yourself! 😊
I disagree with the survey as I would be rather more formal thanks to the military, and I do have my casualwear too! Most definitely I would be singing in the choir to get the voice down to Sam Elliott"s huskiness! Well groomed Mexican tashes are back. Gentleman should learn to speak with either a genuine British or Transatlantic accent. Jeans are out and pressed Navy blue Chinos are in. Veterans or even plain polos in lieu of Tee shirts Shoes with Trousers and trainers with shorts. Time spent in the gym or on the bike is essential! Overtime I was surprised at the results and I am grateful to the few people who have helped me develop my style over the years and I am delighted to pass it on.
@CoffeewithCarey I couldn't agree with you more! When you're 15, 16 you're asking yourself do I go out and fashion myself as a Mod, a Rocker or even a Hippie? Then you receive wiser advice from your parents, to set your own style remember as what was old fashioned will be in vogue 20 years later. Comfort, warmth, & smartness are key..Then the military give you something better, even how to dress in Civvies!
Back in the day, a dress shirt with buttons on the collar was known as a button down, not buttons down the front of the shirt. Of course, the dress shirt has buttons down the front. Come on, you're old enough to remember that...
Come on Scott no need to reprimand me for an inaccurate phrase that gets tossed around all the time. and has been mentioned by three dozen other men in the comments. 🤣🙄
I suppose that I may have to receive this as Gospel...being that it's presented to me from a very attractive older woman who professes the positive qualities that a man should present himself...respectively... Although I always wear Black clothes which are neatly pressed from an iron as well as polished boots along with adornments of Thors Hammer necklace as well as charms which display my divine blessings from the 4 corners of the universe...which of course reflects the fact that I am deeply connected to the desire to learn more as I wake up every day and embrace the Earth and the Universe with open arms....to be continued..
Thank you for the compliment and I believe that we dress ourselves to share a little bit about who we are externally. Fashion is supposed to be fun and about self expression, so I always take other peoples advice with a grain of salt… as should you. With that being said, the ladies like what the ladies like. 🤷🏻♀️
The spandex style press your male goods into your abdomen and moving areas of the upper thigh to hip and no layer to prevent chafing and sweat. It is like being wrapped in saran wrap. My gal likes me in briefs so it is a win win. I buy new regularly and don't wash with dark colors, so they stay bright white.
So as I understand coming to a date with striped Adidas sport suit, lime color Crocs and with a hood is not the best idea. What about face tattoos? Do women like it, any research on that?
I think it requires a certain type of woman who's into that, and chances are - she has ink, body or facial piercings herself. If you can find that - you're golden. For the majority of women - probably not so much... Me personally [ink free] - tattoos don't bother or repel me - as long as it's a reasonable amount and tastefully done. A shopping list of names of previous lovers and wives; your political leanings and opinions; a wacky map of your personal growth and development and life experiences drawn on your body or of your sordid past - not so much. If you have a lot of ink - like full sleeves or entire body work done - there has to be an exceptional man under that skin to make me not see the ink over the essence of the man - if that makes sense. If that's narrow minded - oh well. It is my personal opinion and how I perceive that. Your mileage will surely vary.

I really liked this video- I have several different styles/makes of black boxer briefs-women really dig it…
Lol
Hey Carey, you mentioned a suit, but what about a tux? I love to see a guy in a tux if the occasion warrants it - so sexy! I also like some higher quality golf shirts on guys in conservative colours, particularly if they're into golf.
well in a black tie only situation that’s appropriate and handsome. But not gonna help our guy who’s going out shopping for the new year or trying to find their vibe. 👍
ps. most women don’t find golf shirts hot. 🤷🏻♀️
There is nothing more attractive than a well groomed man. If he's well groomed, good attire will follow.
Love that confidence!
I think it's my tartan condoms, love from Scotland.🤣
George!! 🤦🏻♀️
hahah, that’s an episode i made!! Lol

Veterans or even plain polos in lieu of Tee shirts
Shoes with Trousers and trainers with shorts.
Time spent in the gym or on the bike is essential!
Overtime I was surprised at the results and I am grateful to the few people who have helped me develop my style over the years and I am delighted to pass it on.
All that matters is you have your own style and you enjoy it. 👍
What about the vest with a casual dress shirt?? 😊
I’m not a vest person myself but… That’s it. Lol.
What about Henley shirts?
“Women” didn’t mention them, but I’m a fan. 👍
So I should hang my kilt back in my wardrobe ?
I would imagine this depends upon the attractiveness of your legs. 😆
@@CoffeewithCareyGood answer😊
St Patrick’s activities and Highland Games are clear exceptions. 😃. Just wear what you like.
Best clothes are ,shorts ,white socks ,flip flop and bandana with tank top ,a lots of tattoos and piercing …😅
I’m not against any of those, personally.
Nice jeans. Blazer or sweater.
👖
A hat (that's not a baseball cap) adds a nice touch.
… to what?
😋
I adore men in hats. Nowadays a guy who rocks a hat has confidence, presence, and swagger.
@@LauraJdogmom well you and Cyndi agree on that one?
@@CoffeewithCareywhen a man wears a hat, it looks like he pit some extra effort into what he is wearing and that he takes pride in his appearance.
@CoffeewithCarey ha! I'm just messing with you. Nothing better than a woman with a sense of humor...
I always go commando. The only time i wear boxers is to sleep in.
😳
Well ironed clothes with quality polished boots & shoes for my age 65 uk style
It seems to me that many young people reserve the iron for very very special occasions these days. 😆
A Brooke Brothers suit, ironed shirt and dress leather shoes.
Fancy!
If you work in finance or going to church. Take it down a notch
I dislike boxer briefs but would wear them for that purpose. But I never wear them on a regular basis.
Be comfy! Whatever that means to you
The spandex style press your male goods into your abdomen and moving areas of the upper thigh to hip and no layer to prevent chafing and sweat. It is like being wrapped in saran wrap.
My gal likes me in briefs so it is a win win. I buy new regularly and don't wash with dark colors, so they stay bright white.
@ I’m not sure, but this could possibly be too much information. Also #BlackBoxerBriefs.
@@CoffeewithCarey IKR 🤣
So as I understand coming to a date with striped Adidas sport suit, lime color Crocs and with a hood is not the best idea. What about face tattoos? Do women like it, any research on that?
some women love them and some are not fans. if you have tats it’s the ‘love them’ pool you’ll be concerned with. 👍
Face tattoos , o.k. to me, you were either in a gang or prison, sooooo staying clear of that man .
Hi, yea all counts, especially if single or dating! Underwear? owned a pair and wore once? Depends on what call underwear? Seriously My son thinks wearing shorts under pants count. Lisa took him and her son aside, and we bought new clothes, yes underwear lol. Tyvm
If you don’t know what is being referred to by the word underwear, you’ve got bigger problems than I can help you with. Lol.

@@ronaldyeater3322 hahah. Funny!
Don't womansplain men's shirts to men. A button-down shirt means the collar is buttoned down. Otherwise, it's a button-up shirt. Men traditionally start buttoning their shirts from the bottom and go up. I've seen women start buttoning at the top, but never a man.

Dating advice from women, is like a bomb squad hiring a 'not trained' for bomb squad person to disarm bombs.
I don’t even understand that analogy, but no. And especially not when that woman has been talking to tens of thousands of men about these very subjects for the last 14 years. 🙄
I bought a suit, for my funeral,
I’m sure you’ll look dapper. Not personally a fan.
@CoffeewithCarey I'm a bit jaded, my partner of 12 yrs quit and moved out, my (wife) ex partner, just wants a payout, never contributed 1 single penny in 12 yrs, and now she wants ½, it didn't work out for her

Sooo... no wife beater shirt Bruce Willis style ...?
They didn’t mention that. But I should share with you that we don’t call it that anymore.
Do Men still care what woman prefer?
Yup.
Funny that when I'm out and about I see all kinds of couples out together and they all look different and none of them look like they're trying to be style icons, yet you're trying to make out about what YOU think is important, regardless of what anyone else thinks. I could follow your advice 100% to the letter and I would get absolutely no attention whatsoever, yet an utter prick who has no dress sense could be a right fanny magnet. Work that one out!

in the UK suspenders are worn by women to hold up their stockings when wearing sexy lingerie. Suspenders for (American ) men are called braces here, things which hold up trousers but usually worn by OAPs, old age pensioners.
