I can't see the tach to well but i think its the VR30, the 3.0t engine. Redline looks to be at 7. Someone needs to put a VR 3.8 in a Q. Or make a manual swapped M56.
@@snapyo1472 It’s a VQ37. Hopefully I can get a VR30 in it soon. There’s a Q60 running D1GP in Japan with a 1000hp VR38 swap.

3.7 loves limiter haha. Oil temps get pretty toasty though

im not sure whats more annoying, the engine or the drone noise.
…and the car is still too heavy, even for drifting. Thats why the older bmw goes around corners cleaning and the infiniti keeps damn near smacking the wall!

I’m planning on making one when I get some free time. I did it the cheapest way possible and probably spent about $2500 on parts

I try not to think about how much I spent on it hahaha. I might have to sit down and add it all up and make another video about the cost one day

How did you get quick release on a Q50? I have been trying to find a way to quick release my steering wheel.
I used a g37/370z nrg short hub adapter. I had to shave a little bit of plastic off the of the face of the clock spring to make it work.
@@Davidfarva Thanks for the reply. Have you ran into any issues by shaving off the clock spring and using the G/Z short hub? I had a feeling it would require some custom work to make the NRG work. It sucks NRG does not make one specifically for the Q.
@@NissanSkylineVR30 if I recall correctly it was either a blank connector that had to be shaved off, or it was a connector for an option on a higher trim level car than mine. Either way, if you’re installing a quick release you’re going to lose all of your steering wheel controls anyway so it’s not a big deal.

Ok that's it. Going to find a salvage 400z (eventually) and putting the manual in my Q50 even though I know it's going to be an absolute nightmare of a process
You don’t even have to wait for the new Z to come out. A 370z/G37 manual transmission bolts up to the VR30. There’s already a few cars running the setup with a conversion flywheel from concept z performance
@@Davidfarva what about the vq37 q50 ? you think the manual tranny swap can be done without many issues , idk if it bolts right up like the vr30

I was thinking about geting and automatic 370z diff cause it bolts up w the 3 bolt driveshaft of the Q & comes vlsd but im not sure if the axle stubs will work or if i can change. Also my final gear drive will change and i dont think my cruise controls w work which is wtv but id like to keep.
R200 diff will not bolt into a Q50 subframe. Mounting point and axles are completely different

I wanted a q50 when It came out but didn't come in a stick but I'm leaning towards buying one and many swap as well. What did you have to do as far as computer and all the sensors that now aren't used from the auto transmission?

Did you have to change the drive shaft, and what management are you using? ( Stupid question as I know its a dedicated drift car but do you lose the reverse cameras when you swap the tranny?)

Just curious, what is causing the sparks to come out behind the rear tires? The tires are obviously not blown. Assuming this is on purpose.
It’s the inner steel belts starting to show through from the tires being worn all the way down. It’s not necessarily done on purpose but it does look cool haha
