I’ve owned my 08 G37S coupe for almost 8 years now! Bought it at 80K miles and now I’ve got over 185K miles on it and the 3.7L is still running like a dream to this day. I absolutely love my car to death!
@@stevenfisher2994Quite the opposite honestly! I bought it at 18 years old and will be 28 next month and have done everything possible you’d expect for that age range… With that said, I’m definitely going to start driving like an adult here coming up since my first child is arriving in a few months! 🤣 This car just doesn’t quit…
@@tmddylza6971 Haha, not wrong! 🤣 The benefit is that you get quite used to it after nearly a decade. When I lived in California it was worse for sure, but after moving to Idaho a little over two years ago, it’s been much less pricy. Plus, it’s only 15 minutes to get from one side of my town to the other side now. I used to have to drive on the highway almost every day in California to get to where I wanted to go, but now I drive on the highway only a few times a year!
@Thor Odin son Oh yeah. If I were going for all out power from a VQ while keeping it "simple" I would do the combination you suggested with 35HR/37VHR block, heads from the 35HR, with just the crank from the 37VHR, after market rods and piston with turbos.
One of the best comparisons I've seen on both cars, can't go wrong with either. Want more reliability and less speed go for the 3.7 want more speed with bolt on and jb4 or tune go with 3.0 t.
@m.m stock to stock, the 3.7 is the peppier, higher HP car. Add a basic axle back and a true CAI and even a basic tune, the 3.0T will make nearly triple the results while driving and sounding like an OE car. Now, get that above a few thousand RPM and you'll know they put a little more fuel to the engine. My 3.7 gets about 25mpg on average, the 3.0 males better torque and has a smaller displacement. It got 27mpg. Stock, no tune, the 3.7 would still be faster. Add the tune, the 3.0TT becomes an absolute beast. Drive it normally and you'll still get respectable MPG. If I drive my 3.7 with a heavy foot, it drops to 16-18mpg. The 3.0 was closer to 20mpg, likely from the tqe provided by boost.
3.0t all the way for me, have my 2017 Q50S AWD and I do not regret any part of my choice, a really amazing car, great buy and price, love the drive of it

have my 3.0t 2016 (160,000kms) since…2016. zero reliability issues on my end and i drive the car pretty hard. I guess to each their own but for me the 3.0t has been nothing but reliable (and super fun).
The 3.0t is the quicker engine and more fuel efficient. As you mentioned, the 3.0t has a better torque converter as well. I would not hesitate to buy a Q50 with the 3.0t engine.
The 3.0t is definitely not more fuel efficient than the 3.7. The 3.7 would give me at least 400 miles per tank and with the 3.0t 2020 I am lucky if I get 300
The 3.0 pulled from a dig thanks to the higher torque, which is why they were side by side from a roll, bout the same HP.. Both have great aftermarket options and I respect what the 3.0's are accomplishing but... From what I've seen so far, the 3.7 holds up better. I personally prefer the sound of the 3.5 and 3.7's, but that's just my opinion. I do own an 05 G35 Sedan 6spd with over 240k and LOVE it.. For anyone reading this, the R35 GTR oil filters fit most our cars and are larger so they help add extra filtration to protect your engines. Been using em on my G for awhile now for peace of mind

Mustang guy here, who also owned a 2010 G37 Coupe (until a month ago) now have a 2014 Q60 Coupe, I just have to say props to the n/a VQ platform running side by side with the twin-turbo version... honestly, from a performance perspective,I would be a little disenfranchised by this! We all can presume that a single turbo (not even twin) on the n/a version would absolutely destroy the 3.0t!🤔 Nevertheless, two damn good rides from Infinity 👍
2015 Q50s are bringing low to mid 20s. With really low mileage and great condition can bring a little higher. Although I haven't dynoed mine the 3.7 is supposed to be 328 HP at the crank.
I traded in my 2011 370z for my 2017 q60 rs. After having driven both I have respect for both but there is no comparison in these motors. 3.0ddtt is hands down the more fun friendly motor but does have its issues.

Triston I assume you got the 3.0t? I am by no means an expert on the matter. I’m fact I haven’t even had my car for a year yet. From what I have read and talked to other owners about definitely keep an eye on the belt. Very easy fix but keep an eye on it. Definitely check your oil regularly because from my understanding the 3.0 seems to go through some (from what I’ve heard, not my personal experience), and obviously the turbo concern. I personally have almost 58,000 miles on mine and have zero issues with mine so far (knock on wood). But those are the minors I’ve found and heard about. Hope you enjoy!

Great video and would agree with at least 95%-98%. Strangely, my wife had a rental, a stock Q50 Premium in 3.0T trim. It was 100% identical to my 3.7 Q50 Premium. they were even the same color. Pictures happened. Lol I was sadly disappointed with the performance of the twin turbos and the complete lack of any whirls, angry turbo noise---- at all. We actually raced and then swapped cars and raced again. Uhhhh, on a closed course, obviously. 🤔🤣🤣🤣 Here are my only disagreements with this. The 3.7 is rated at 328HP whereas the 3.0T is rated at 300HP, stock. As I've had several of these cars (Gs and Qs) through the last 12 years and actively looking for #4, I truly don't see much price difference at all between apples-to-apples 3.7 vs 3.0T cars in like-trim. What I'm looking at is quite a bit over 20k but it's still a lot of car, dollar for dollar. You can pick up grandma for a trip to the store in absolutely silent luxury and symphony on the Bose and after dropping her off at home, qieue up the adrenaline music on that Bose and go embarrass some guy in what he thought was a really hot Fox body, Civic-R, etc and then tool home like nothing ever happened. Hands down, the 3.0 will make the most power with similar upgrade dollars spent. Period. The turbos are indeed no bueno and not a cheap repair, even with parts only. I would still take the 3.7 all day for cost of ownership. The HP:Wt ratio at even 400HP and Tqe from the twin turbos will hand down embarrassment to some more purpose-built, newer road beasts with much more HP than 400 and you won't likely see their car on the same road within a few years. Regardless of the trim level, you are otherwise spot-on, my friend! They're generally over-engineered cars in most respects. They do have a few quirks but the 3.7's longevity coupled with the low cost of ownership would be the better investment. If you're looking for a tunable road burner or an absolute beast of a sleeper, the 3.0T would be the winner by a landslide! With the same CAI and basic exhaust and tune, I agree, 20-30HP for the 3.7 or spend the same money for identical parts and upgrades and get 100HP, without a doubt. Save for jumping to an S or Red Sport S, their prices are nearly identical. You are 100% correct, the 3.0 will make a very reliable 400HP with very little money spent with other claims of 450+ with limited AM parts. 😊👍 Thanks for a great review and I'm not trying to troll, at all. 😊
I owned a 3.7 til it was totaled about 5 months ago. Replaced with a 3.0t. The 3.0 is easier on gas, doesn’t get buzzy at the top end and has a lot less NVH over all. It does however have turbo lag. Over all a worthy successor to the 3.7. I actually think the 3.0 sounds better too. Never thought I would say that about a turbo.
I can agree a stock VQ37 with stock exhaust sounds in cabin sounds a little shity, but with a decent exhaust it completely changes. If vq and vr both stock exhaust, well both are what ever, both with decent or nice exhaust my preference is the VQ, but to each their own.
2016 VQ 3.0T Q50 here... 120k miles... 24.9 mpg avg. All stock parts except STILLEN full CBE and Cold Air Intakes. No issues. First and only serpentine belt (minor noise) and transmission services at 120k miles. Back and forth from North CA to South CA every two weeks. Runs smooth like it was 6 yrs ago at 80-90mph (still stable even at 120mph), most of the time 5hrs straight non-stop. Much more reliable than the 2001 IS300 I used to drive. Definitely need to get rid of bumpy and noisy stock NonFlat and put on a set of 255/40ZR19 Pilot Sport A/S 3+.

Great video! I do believe the VQ is ultimately the most reliable motor as someone whose owned just about every version VQ. and getting miles with little to no issues BUT that’s not to say the VR can’t last as long. The VR is based of the VQ just like the VK is based of the VQ and if you maintain both motors properly they’ll last. From what I’ve seen ppl go too long between oil changes, use cheap oil and poor fuel quality which can hurt reliability. Another issue is ppl don’t tune properly or perform the necessary upgrades when tuning. I like the VR motor an think it’s a great VQ replacement.
BELTS, turbos go out, reliability... 3.7 sounds better too. And a single boost turbo system is $6500... so I'll invest and keep my reliability. Sidenote: cf hoods and fenders need to be more available.
2014 and 2015 was also hybrid version, which is best option in my opinion. If you don`t want to play with turbo and race, than hybrid is great option. Low rpm torque, and performance almost like Red 400. Only downside is loosing trunk space for batteries.
Hybrids were around til as late as 2018, but only 2014 and 2015 available with Sport package. Def would love to see these guys try and beat a Q50 Hybrid with the no-lag instant 100+ torque. I also think the hybrid battery packs extra weight in the trunk just give the RWD version more grip :)

There is a tsb for the earlier 3.0t motors for the belt misalignment. All you have to do is take it to the dealership, provide the technical service bulletin and they will actually realign the ac compressor. No more misalignment. I would still reccomend changing the belt every other oil change because the belt tensioner on these cars are extremely strong and stretch the belt pretty quickly.

Both are great cars. I have the 3.0t and it has some performance mods such as Infiniti heat exchanger, alpha downpipe, invidia exhaust and jb4. I barely use the jb4 because the bolt on that I have is already quick for me. Sometimes I thought about I should've the 3.7 when the 3.0t came out because I like the sound higher rpm.
You're really missing out on the true potential with those bolt ons. Even the jb4 would make a big difference, but I recommend ditching the jb4 and getting an ecutek tune. Kind of a waste of money having the bolt ons and no tune.
I have a 2019 370Z sport coupe 6MT and love the engine in that car. That version of the VQ37VHR produces 332hp at the crank with a car weight of about 3300 lbs, so it's pretty quick and responsive. I'm hitting 36K miles on it and have no oil consumption on the dipstick during the 3K mile oil change intervals and no engine issues. I'm a big fan of the VQ engine, for its reliability and absolutely flat torque curve across the whole rev range.

Having both motors in my Z, I still stand by the 3.0T wayyy more. Potential is only on the rise and we’re seeing 650+ becoming more common on the 3.0T and keeping up with boosted 3.7. The 3.7 is a damn solid motor and LOVES boost, like you said. “Reliably” making high power is case by case. I’ve seen 3 3.7 blow while roasting my 3.0T swap saying it was going to blow on dyno. I’m still running strong. The high horsepower 3.7 (stock block) that would gap the fastest 3.0T are not reliable lol. Half of them are scared to go top of 5th because a lot of VQ will grenade. Having been around these cars so much I’ve seen the good and bad. My opinion will always stand that the 3.7 has great reliability vs the 3.0T because it’s been out for over a decade and tuners learned where it hits or misses. The 3.0T has gotten a ton of support only in the past year and will get more with it in the new 2023 Z. I saw comments on cost- to get a 3.7 to 500 with be min 5-7k. To get it above that just depends on the factors. Getting a 3.0T to 500 doesn’t take much. I wouldn’t including pricing of licenses because you need that for both platforms and they are about the same in cost. Getting my 3.0 to 600+ is another 3-5 (I have sponsorships and help so it’s different for me). I’m making near 500 on stock turbos and they do go depending on factors, but not so much on the 19+ models. If you compare a SC 3.7 then it would need to be vs a upgraded turbo 3.0T. THATS a race. Best comparison I’ve seen in a while and you can tell you’re disappointed with the race 😂.
For anyone who wants to battle it out- When the 3.7 was first getting boosted with the Stillen SC kits they used to blow like at 500 whp. People used to think that was the limit of the VQ until they found out it was the torque. The VQ has been out for 20+ years and has has A LOT of time to be figured out. Apply the same time to a 3.0T and I’m positive the same results will happen or more since this is Nissans new motor they’re focusing on and has only been pushed for about 3 years to find it’s limits.
With the money that you save, you can put a turbo on the 3.7 and dust the 3.0 all day long. This is another example of why the 400z is DOA especially when you account for the base model is 40k.
when you tune the 3.0t for extra boost you need to add better cooling. The base model 3.0t q50's don't come with enough cooling and even the red sport models have some cooling issues when tuned

there's much more needed then just a tune for a 3.0t to keep up with a boosted 3.7. if you do keep up & you have stock turbos, you won't keep up for long until you start having various issues. @@RomeloRoman both boosted, there’s no comparison. G37 got 330 hp with 270 tq manual and 325 hp 267 tq auto. Q50 got 300 hp with 295 tq. Red specs are 400 hp with 350 tq. Get the specs right please. My choice is the 3.7 with a turbo +170 hp and +100 tq. A good 3.7 is what 15k now plus 5k to 7k on mods.Still cheaper than 2nd hand Q50 at 28k to 35k.
My 2013 g37 lasted me for 10 years... Loved it, but the transmission was goofy... Just got the 3.0t Sport and love it... Tuning and electronics on the 3.0t sport feel way better.
I had a 2013 G37X, a 2017 Q50, and now a 2020 Q50S and there were all incredible cars. The 2020 seems to be the fastest. the G37X in my opinion was more solid that the Q50's, it just seems more rugged and reliable. The Q50 seems a little more fragile, my opinion only. But I love the 2020 Q50S. So what's the cheapest, easiest way to 'tune' my 2020 for more horsepower without major modifications and voiding the guarantee.
🤝🏾 I APPRECIATE THE SIDE BY SIDE HEADLIGHT COMPARISON ON INTRO! THINK I’LL LEAVE MINE STOCK. THE CUSTOM VERSION LOOKS eBAYish… BUT AYE, THAT’S ONLY ONE OPINION. KEEP THE CONTENT COMING! 🎬
Never seen a tuned VQ really exceed 330whp even FBO unless FI or cams are involved - from my findings, ~320whp seems to be the average Great motor, but yeah. On the dyno 340-360 is a bit high I reckon. Not going to pick too much up being NA with an already efficient 6
Great video and great information! I am going to buy another car soon and the 2015 Q50 is one of the two finalists along with the 2014 Lexus GS 350. This video helped a lot, keep up the good work!
Tracy, I recently had a GS 350 Fsport... the ONLY thing good about them is the luxury/ hella reliable. After that they are boring.... Barely any aftermarket items for it. It's just not as fun as a Q at all. But still a good choice if you go that way
@@jae4daes526 , I appreciate the feedback my brother, this helps quite a bit. At 54, reliability is great but I still want a little fun too lol! I think you may have pushed me towards the Q50. Have you had any major problems with the Q50?
@@jae4daes526 boring??I just got a 2013 gs350 2months ago and they're far from boring. It's really fun red midsize luxury sedan. Handles good too. The power is good too that I take on new charger r/T. Say that I have a bolt on 5.0 so I know what fun is and the Lexus ain't boring. Sometimes I like it more than the 5.0
Tracy, mark my words, get the GS 350. It is by far a more reliable/durable car than any Infiniti ever created. It is way easier to work on (my brother has a jdm shop) and you will smile in comfort and confidence every single time. I have owned all of the following between my wife and I: 2006 IS 350, 2008 GS 350, 2010 IS 350, 2014 IS 350, 2016 GS 350, 2005 g35 coupe, and 2010 g37 coupe. I hope you see the trend of the 350 motor in the Lexus since 2006. The Q is nice and a little quicker than the GS. But unless you plan to drag race like a teen or 20 something year old, the Q has NOTHING on the G.
BTW Tracy, the Q will eat you alive with gas burning. The Infiniti cars are horrible on gas. Like ridiculously bad. The GS isn't the best at gas but way better in the real work than the Q. Don't let the on paper MPGs fool yu. Those V motors in infini drink way too much gas for the performance they deliver. I would rather buy a 335i or 340i from 2012+ than take a chance with a Q. They are very similar in reliability and MPG to the Q but the Beemer is way, way quicker and more fun to drive. Yep! I went there. That's my opinion on a on reliability ratings for Infiniti that I think they are close to BMW levels, if you got a heavy foot. Baby it and it treats you nicely. Have fun and it will do the same with your pockets.
just buy a Q70 instead. its just a slightly larger version of the Q50 and only weighs about 150lbs more. 420hp/417tq, its a low/mid 13 second car all day long. not much aftermarket but its fairly reliable.
I’ve always been with the v8 guys so ima try these out put my foot in water people say i needa grab my floaties with these cuz they some else so lets see
Thanks for the information on the DIFFERENCES on the 7-Speed Transmissions. It'll be interesting to see how well the JATCO 9-Speed in the new Z does when people start doing modifications. I can say that the 7-Speed in the 370z has seen a significant amount of attention on the 370z forums when it comes to inconsistencies in terms of different user experiences. Some are fine, but a lot of "us people" have had flexplate failure, and strange upshift behavior.... Personally I'm going 6-speed just for future resell purposes on the new Z, not going to roll the dice with JATCO again!
@@isaihaguirre6533 the transmission itself is fine, the slushy tune is whats doing it. that transmission is capable of shifting hard enough to snap a driveshaft just about. the shift strategy is what holds it back, not the transmission.

As an infiniti tech I would 100% take the 3.7 every time .
As someone who likes easy “reliable power” the q is probably a better option. 3.7 takes the cake on reliability though 100%
Disgusting
@Thor Odin son The block from the 3.5HR and the 3.7 are the same btw.
@Thor Odin son Oh yeah. If I were going for all out power from a VQ while keeping it "simple" I would do the combination you suggested with 35HR/37VHR block, heads from the 35HR, with just the crank from the 37VHR, after market rods and piston with turbos.
So you like being slow huh?
One of the best comparisons I've seen on both cars, can't go wrong with either. Want more reliability and less speed go for the 3.7 want more speed with bolt on and jb4 or tune go with 3.0 t.
thank you man, really means a lot! but keep in mind, you don't just have to do bolt ons with a 3.7...

When referring to speed...
is jb4 safe with 3.0t?
@@gotentk4 very safe just follow The directions in protocols and they also have a site with lots of information to help if needed.

Pictures happened. Lol I was sadly disappointed with the performance of the twin turbos and the complete lack of any whirls, angry turbo noise---- at all. We actually raced and then swapped cars and raced again. Uhhhh, on a closed course, obviously. 🤔🤣🤣🤣
Here are my only disagreements with this.

All you have to do is take it to the dealership, provide the technical service bulletin and they will actually realign the ac compressor. No more misalignment. I would still reccomend changing the belt every other oil change because the belt tensioner on these cars are extremely strong and stretch the belt pretty quickly.
Rockin wit the VQ for the win before I watch
Vq fans are always vq fans
Some guy in a 3.0t tried to race me one day, He found out. Dude was super cool though and gave me thumbs up. His car was pretty quick and kept up with me. I didn’t blow his doors off but he got walked. I have a e90 N54 powered
This video was amazing 🔥. Glad y’all put this together for Infiniti enthusiasts or enthusiasts period. That 3.7 kept jumping 😂
Traded in my 03 i35 for a 17 QX50. The 3.7 is just a monster with a good history.
3.0T is the right move if you’re trying to make power easily. With aftermarket intercoolers and exhaust with a tune you can make tons of power.
agreed, very user friendly platform!
Yeah theyre retarded fast, got gapped by a stock with jb4 and im fbo stage 2 minus intercooler on my f30.
Both are great cars. I have the 3.0t and it has some performance mods such as Infiniti heat exchanger, alpha downpipe, invidia exhaust and jb4. I barely use the jb4 because the bolt on that I have is already quick for me. Sometimes I thought about I should've the 3.7 when the 3.0t came out because I like the sound higher rpm.
sounds mean and u can put your own bigger turbo on it
You're really missing out on the true potential with those bolt ons. Even the jb4 would make a big difference, but I recommend ditching the jb4 and getting an ecutek tune. Kind of a waste of money having the bolt ons and no tune.
How do you like it a year later ??
Never seen your vids but props on all the info you gave out in the vid ! 👏🏼
VQ engines are far from reliability issues dude tf you on? I have 3 vq engines, already changed the engine on this altima 3.5 manual 6 speed and my HR that only had 140k miles on it. They're not reliable as you think they are
@@jponz85 Your experience is not what I've seen with many of the Z owners on the 370Z forums. I also have experience with a specialty Z shop in San Jose and many owners who report good reliability with the VQ engines. My suggestion is that you not thrash your cars and give them a modicum of maintenance; you'll be surprised at the results.
@@videomaniac108 my altima lasted 216k miles before the head gasket went and was already burning oil for a long time, the Z I bought used but even at 140k, I literally could count the number of times with my fingers on how many pulls I did on that car, end result was a blown rod that blew out of the engine, car runs fine now with a newer engine. The other altima se-r burns oil or loses oil as I see it coming out from the bottom. Point is, I've had nissans all my life and some hondas. Nissan engines, including our VQs are NOT reliable engines as opposed to toyotas and honda engines. That's not even an opinion, those are facts lol.
Yea they dropped the hp in the Q
@@jponz85I also had an Altima - 08 coupe 6mt. I abused mine- didn’t race it but rarely even changed oil lol. I let it go at 400,000km bc I didn’t want to put any money in to look at water pump dailure. I was still on original clutch. I have a 2019 370z now and look forward to reliability.
Dawg. Good video, covered everything that comes to mind for me good job on the video this man knows his shit
Thank you sir! Definitely tried my absolute best
i just got myself a 2020 nissan versa sv. i'm a toyota person but i think I dropped the gun too fast and this is what i ended up leaving the lot with, lol i'm grateful though, its the perfect car for me. all glory to god! I like this kind of videos. i have videos of my car on my channel as well and videos about the process of getting my car.
isn't the versa the slowest nissan? Oh wait never mind, the micra is, the versa is the 2nd slowest. Oh well, as long as you're happy, you do you.
@@On3_media what would you say are the best mods for a 3.7 q50 while maintaining its reliability
@@romanb5836 intakes and exhaust.
With the money that you save, you can put a turbo on the 3.7 and dust the 3.0 all day long. This is another example of why the 400z is DOA especially when you account for the base model is 40k.
I'm excited for the new Z
when you tune the 3.0t for extra boost you need to add better cooling. The base model 3.0t q50's don't come with enough cooling and even the red sport models have some cooling issues when tuned
Is it the same with the 3.7 ?
@@edwardh5393 You can't boost the 3.7. It doesn't have turbos so this doesn't apply
Well it really breaks down to what your goal is for the car ….if you want the better reliability untuned it would be the 3.7 because it’s N/A although I have heard the trans going n those as well 🤷🏿♂️….. but for tuning the 3.0 is definitely the Way to go…. Guys are pushing in the 600-650 realm reliably beating the shit out of the car everyday for wayyyy less money then throwing a supercharger on a 3.7 and dealing with headaches ……the guys at goracebox just had their shop car run a 10.8 in the 1/4 mile on stock turbos, stock trans, street tire on E70 ! I myself have been reliably tuned for 2 years on stock turbos changing out my belt every 20,000 miles with no issues
What belt are you changing out? I have a stock Q50S and only have performed oil changes but I want to perform preventative maintenance
@@devontorres1938 The serpentine belt …The issue is that the ac compressor was not properly aligned in the 16,17 and 18’s I believe ….Not sure what year you have but I’m not sure if Infiniti fixed this problem on the newer models … I change mine out every 20,000 so far and I haven’t had an issue and I have had my 16 redsport 4 years now
Had my vq for 5yrs no issues
the amount of times i've heard that sentence lol
G37 I’m guessing ?
it’s crazy because for the “serpentine belt miss alignment” so far i’ve noticed it always has something to do with the compressor position or the position in which the belt rests on the idler pulley. **i’m talking specifically 3.0**
I had a 14 back when they were new and had other VQ37 and VQ35HR cars, so I am very fond of the VQ platform. I just picked up another Q this time with the VR30TT. I haven't had much seat time with it yet, but I am a turbo guy at heart, so that part sings to me. I am not sure the reliability will equate to what the VQ was, but there is alot of potential here if you want to mod.
My 3.0TT engine just seized up @50k miles. They opened the oil pan and found pieces of metal in it. Replaced the whole engine, both turbos and O2 sensor under warranty thank God! Love the car but if it did this at 50k, I don't know if it will last past 150k. So far it's running great but of course I'm still breaking it in. Car is a 2019 q50 luxe.
Dang. Is the warranty only good up to 60K miles? And can you get an extended one?
I least it at first and when I turned it into a purchase, I bought an Infiniti extended warranty. I also got the warranty for tires which I've used 4 times already and ding protection which I've used twice. Haven't used the windshield warranty yet
"bumper to bumper they're pretty much the same besides the difference of the front and rear bumper..."
I bought a Q60 Red Sport and I love it. I’ve never driven any other Infiniti car but had a SUV and it was good too.
How can you completely leave out the Red Sport? 100 more hp and no messing around with the car required.
Redsport 400 is just a tuned base 3.0t with interior modifications..nothing special & again we were looking for an equal opportunity for comparison....if we had a redsport 400 for the video I would have compared it to my supercharged 3.7 q50 & the 3.ot redsport would of not been able to stand a chance...
@@RomeloRoman bro, the rs400 definitely has different engine mods than a base 3.0tt. Different sensors, water pumps, air cooling, even staggered wheel set up on the RWD, etc.. They didn't just squeeze out an extra 100hp from just a tune. However, the rs400 is completely irrelevant to your video. The purpose of your video is to answer the biggest infiniti question people ask-which one is better buy between the 3.7 and 3.0tt. I'm a true infiniti enthusiast, owned 4 of them and currently daily driving a q50 hybrid sport which was the fastest most powerful q50 before they came out with the rs400. Don't forget the VQ costs a fortune to boost - & needs to be built unless your dealing with a perfectly maintain unabused engine. The VR needs a tune and its a rocket ship. No comparison.
there's much more needed then just a tune for a 3.0t to keep up with a boosted 3.7. if you do keep up & you have stock turbos, you won't keep up for long until you start having various issues. Both are expensive, neither engine has to be built, you have to pay to play & there is no way to get around that when trying to achieve 550+HP out of both platforms.
@@RomeloRoman both boosted, there’s no comparison. My point is you need 10-15g minimum to boost a stock block vq properly, where as getting to a less powerful 400whp on a vr is very cheap and easy and more reliable than 550whp on a stock block vq. . If your content with 400whp ( which most are for a street car) again there is no comparison imo. If I had the money I would love to boost my hr it’s just $$$.
