I've made this recipe 2 times now. First time I went along with some of the comments that said a little bit more psyllium husk was needed, but the bread came out a bit too dense, so second time I followed the recipe precisely and it came out lighter and I like it better that way. I find that even if the batter might seem too runny, after you let it rest it thickens up. I also found greasing my palms with a bit of oil helped shape the dough into a loaf. I love watching Healthy Vegan Kitchen videos, it's so comforting!
I made this recipe today. It tastes amazing. The texture is good. It is not sandwich bread, but it is suitable for toast or for an open loaded sandwich. It is dense but not gummy or heavy. To enhance the flavour, I added 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, ½ teaspoon caraway seeds and an extra ½ teaspoon of salt. To rest the dough, I covered it with cling film and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes. It was still too 'sloppy' to hold its loaf shape, so I added 2 tablespoons of rice flour. This enabled the loaf to hold its baguette shape beautifully. I will definitely be sharing this recipe with my GF friends and adding it to my staple list.
This is a very good recipe. It’s easy and pretty tasty too. The texture is good. (You may have to add some additional psyllium husk to the dough. I put my dough in the fridge for 30 min.to tighten it up a bit). Thank you for this recipe!😋
I made this vegan gluten free bread and came out fantastic. Since we went on gluten free lifestyle,it was hard to get a good preservative free gluten free bread. This is the best bread we have had. Thank you so much for the recipe.👍
I just made this bread and am waiting for it to cook down before cutting. It looks great and did rise a little. However before putting it in the oven, my dough was a bit runnier than the video. I also added 1 tbsp sugar to balance the taste. I’ll update after cutting. . Update: The texture was great just like the video. The sugar added a nice pleasant taste similar to white sandwich bread. The next day I doubled the batter and made a bigger loaf in a loaf pan and it turned great as well. Next time I want to try it with yeast and see what happens.
@@arzoosangwan6997 I did let it rise before baking because I have been baking it only with yeast after that first time. It depends on the weather how long you should let it rise, but it should be much shorter than wheat bread.
I made this bread this afternoon and I too found the batter a little runnier than in the video (perhaps it has to do with location/ingredients?) - I added a little more psyllium and baked per instructions - very good. I will make it again. Thanks for the recipe and work you must have put into it! July 7 Excellent very toasted with strawberry jam!
I made this bread today. I was so excited to see the recipe that i went to soak the whole plastic of red lentil without measuring it 1st😂. I only realised when i was about to bake it the next morning that the lentils already swell, & i dont know if i should use 200g swell lentils or make it double 400g. Decide to go with 300g swell lentils and its turn out good and delicious. Just the batter little sticky but still shapeable. Mine texture is little dense mybe bcause of my lentil measurement mistakes. Even so , still tasty, the right measurement must be taste better. So dont be like me😂, measure the lentil 1st then soak it. Thanks for the recipe, ur hands is beautiful tho❤️
