Especially Fenris considering that all Elves once had magic and will supposedly have it returned to them when the Veil is torn down. Sera would also hate that idea.
I really feel for Solas. Having played these games since they came out, I made so many choices that I thought were the "good" or "heroic" choices, only to have them backfire in ways I never expected. I also ended the lives of mages made tranquil out of "mercy." Solas is the epitome of that, walking through a world in which, in his eyes, EVERYONE is basically tranquil. And when his love breaks it off with him, he not only accepts it, but says that she has every right to be angry at him. Such a class act.
How old is Solas exactly? Does anyone know? :D Not that i mind having a thousand year old backstabbing heartbreaking deceiving sexy god - boyfriend who wants to destroy the world..
+Jo He Well I'm not sure, but he is supposed to be in his mid-40s (looks-wise). As to borrow a quote from a terrible movie: *"How old are you, Solas?" "44." "How long have you been 44?" "A while."*
Thrano I mean actually Solas as the god Fenharel.. How long ago is the elven century in the world of dragon age? He said he was Solas even before he became the dread wolf and I just wonder long ago this is. And is this his own body or just a host? xD
Jo He See, a body-switch is never mentioned. He only says he's been sleeping alot, what I assume is the fantasy variant of cryo-sleep that elves (like in the Temple of Mithral) can do. He was always Solas, which incidentally is the elven word for Pride, but later has been titled Dread Wolf. Sources in the game put the Tevinter invasion of the elves at 1,000 years before the current time. An invasion that took advantage of the elves losing half their world with the veil being created by Solas. So... all in all, nobody knows how old Solas is. All guesswork as to how long the elves had their glorious slave-empire going.
I read this fanfic where Solas calls Lavellan da'len and she's like, "how do you know you're older than me? You don't know my age." He's just like, "I know."

They could have made it a part 1 and part 2 kind of a thin with the inquisition. Then a new matter could bave arisen and then we couldve gladly accepted the new protag. Cutting the arm was unnecessary and extreme.
Yeah that's not what I was getting at with original comment. I was talking about how Bioware were criticized for their writing quality on catalyst's motivation.
chiffmonkey wrong. Solas seeks to restore his old world and people. Catalyst was just a sorry excuse for Reapers, broken AI, that came to illogical conclusion. (Even the situation with Quarian & Geth peace disproves his claim)
Solas doesn't put much weight on falling in love. Solas is ancient eleven being. He's had countless lovers throughout his existence. I bet a few of them loved him unconditionally. It's kind of arrogant of the inquisitor to believe they are special to him. He's dealt with all kinds of emotion so it makes sense he get over you. Solas is a being who betrayed himself and his people. What matters to him is his agenda. What ever that may be.
On the contrary, he was/is desperately in love with a romanced Lavellan. Word of god is that in his breakup scene, he was actually about to confess to her who he was and give up his plans to restore Arlathan. Telling her about the vallaslin wasn't what he brought her there for. He chickened out at the last moment and decided that if he didn't break up with her there and then, he'd never have the strength to do it. His worst fear is "dying alone" after all. He's all but ensured that his worst fear will come to pass, just so he can correct what he sees as his terrible mistake. He's not getting over Lavellan any time soon. (It's still pretty selfish in a way, like everything Solas does, because telling her he's Fen'Harel might have made her stop loving him. Breaking her heart means that someone will continue to love him, even if it means hurting them. He's an asshole, but a complicated and very lonely asshole.)
Even if he had an eventful love life back in Arlathan, the inquisitor IS special to him like noone else he's ever met. He says it repeatedly throughout the main game and during the Trespasser conversation. Everyone in the Thedas is so disconnected from the Fade, including the elves, that they are absolutely unrecognizable - like "a world of Tranquil". He doesn't see any value in this world, which is why he is going to sacrifice it to bring back his world. Except, he HAS found something of value, a rare spirit, the inquisitor. His love for her throws doubt on everything he thinks he knows about existence. If he wasn't SO set on his plans to 'fix his mistake', he would probably change his mind - he might still do, in future story. I think that makes Lavellan a lot more important than any ancient elf chick in his past. (or maybe not? maybe he's seeking to restore his world so he can restore an old love? that would really fuck with the Solasromancers)
Breaking up with him because he's the DW? What happened to women liking *bad boys* huh? This is unrealistic! The other version (where they don't break up) is so much better.
I know he’s being a dumb ass and he’s a liar but he truly loves Lavellan and I know there’s good inside him. He’s just trying to fix what he messed up in the most dumb way possible because he feels it’s the only choice he has left. He feels he owes it to his people and that there is no other way to undo what he’s done; but his Vhenan will show him that this isn’t the answer and that their love will find a way to endure. Solas, Var lath vir suledin. ❤️

Omg I can’t wait for the new game!!!!
Forget my other comment I just watched your other video haha thanks :)

The Skin that Strikes/Stalks, I think.

Solas is the definition of regret in this story so far.
He is the very definition of a person who considers himself very wise, and it's actually the opposite.
@@SeventhheavenDK Makes you wonder if he will be humbled in the next game!
Why is it that people have no issue with Solas' plan as a villain motivation, but hate on catalyst for almost exactly the same thing?
chiffmonkey js I fucking hate Solas I hated since I met him tbf this just made it worse
But do you hate him in an immersive way (like how many people hate Sera), or do you reject his status as canon? I'm assuming the former still.
chiffmonkey definitely immersive, near the end of the game I had fleshed out reasons to dislike him
Yeah that's not what I was getting at with original comment.
By the Dread Wolf!
Excellently put, Ve Jones
I put over a hundred in that game he'd better love me damnit.
But... But... This bloody son of an elf... You're telling me he kills you at the end, practically?
Breaking up with him because he's the DW? What happened to women liking *bad boys* huh? This is unrealistic! The other version (where they don't break up) is so much better.
+iOnlySignIn Not every woman likes bad boys.
Smashguy96 But he is so bad in such a good way... I mean the DW is the biggest, baddest bad boy there is!
iOnlySignIn My point still stands. Also they are already broken up by this point. He breaks up with her in the main game.

+iOnlySignIn He is a *bald* boy: * Badum tsss *
I know he’s being a dumb ass and he’s a liar but he truly loves Lavellan and I know there’s good inside him. He’s just trying to fix what he messed up in the most dumb way possible because he feels it’s the only choice he has left. He feels he owes it to his people and that there is no other way to undo what he’s done; but his Vhenan will show him that this isn’t the answer and that their love will find a way to endure.
Solas, Var lath vir suledin. ❤️
Fuck this music just destroys me
Betting $2 that the Inquisitor dies in da4
Why did I laugh 😅
#petty
he didn't seem that broken up about it XD
