Chocolate Dump Cake Recipe 🍫🍰☕️🍨 4-Ingredient Dessert with Cake Mix & Instant Pudding❤️

- My 4-ingredient chocolate dump cake recipe with cake mix and instant pudding is easy and delicious. By pouring the ingredients directly into a 9x13 baking dish and mixing them there, you can create a chocolate sheet cake that's not only perfect for a beginner cook serving a crowd but also ideal if you don't want to clean a lot of dishes. Although this dump cake would be fine with just 4 ingredients, adding a pinch of table salt, a teaspoon of instant coffee, and a bag of chocolate chips really takes it to the next level.
Like I said, this chocolate dump cake recipe is easy. The only thing you have to keep in mind is not curdling the milk by mixing it with hot butter. That's why I recommend melting the butter, pouring it into the casserole dish, and then sprinkling in the dry ingredients. As the instant pudding and cake mix absorb the melted butter, they'll lower the temperature so that you can then safely add the milk.
Overall, I thought this chocolate dump cake was good. It was very moist inside and easy to make. Although some people might say this isn't a dump cake since you have to mix the ingredients to form a batter, the fact that you only have to dirty one dish is enough reason for some people to make this.
I also liked that the dump cake had a deep chocolate flavor. With chocolate pudding, devil's food cake mix, and chocolate chips, this dessert is sure to satisfy any chocoholic's cravings.
My only complaint is that it wasn't quite as rich as I was expecting. Besides thinking about my chocolate cake with peanut butter cream cheese frosting recipe that is out of this world, I felt that this dump cake wasn't as fudgy as I was expecting: I think it might have been the lack of eggs, but I'm not sure--something just felt a bit "missing."
Overall, for a 4-ingredient chocolate dump cake recipe, this was great. It was chocolatey, and went great with vanilla ice cream. It's perfect for beginner cooks, crowds, and people who don't want to clean. If you need a last minute dessert for Valentine's Day--or any day--give this a try.🍫🍰☕️🍨🍒❤️

That's a good question. Originally, I was just going to layer the ingredients in the baking dish, like in most other dump cake recipes, but then I decided to mix everything together because I think that agitating the ingredients is necessary if you want a cake-like texture.
So, if you make it, you don't have to spread everything out as evenly as I did, haha

I can't have peanut butter chips and I wouldn't want to add chocolate chips on top but I would add white chocolate chips or Heath Bar toffee bits! Yum, yum!

That's a good question. I do like the creaminess of evaporated milk, but I'm not sure if it would make a big difference in the final product since the chocolate kind of overpowers everything--but if you have evaporated milk on hand, you could definitely use it.

It turned out well. This was the first time I made this recipe so I didn't have a regular milk cake comparison. One thing I have noticed is that evaporated milk does not have that unique flavor that it had years ago. We would always use it in hot tea and homemade ice cream and other things and it always added a unmistakable taste. I find that it doesn't quite have that anymore.
In a couple of days I am going to make it again using 'half and half' and peanut butter chips!

The Dump Cake has no boundaries,prior to my divorce I made one,the ex was flabbergasted,best desert she ever had, unfortunately it didn't save the marriage,hell damn near 30 years. The woman I am now seeing,we exchange desserts, meals, and our best breakfast. Coffee plays a role as well. 70 years old and still having fun,she is 58.

You should melt the butter first in the microwave. Then mix all dry ingredients together. Then whisk cold milk with the now room-temperature butter before pouring over the dry ingredients. Mix well and pour into a buttered baking dish. Place it in a preheated oven set the timer and clean up your kitchen while you are waiting. Always clean up you messes while food is cooking.
What about a little cinnamon, my grandmother used tonalesus add a little cinnamon to enhance the choc;ate flavor?

You could definitely replace the cake mix with brownie mix, but I would still include the pudding. It's probably not 100% necessary, but I still think the pudding is going to add flavor.

I'm not sure exactly how big your pan is, but you can always do the toothpick texture: insert a toothpick into the center--if it comes out clean (aside from melted chocolate chips), the cake is done.

The coffee you add is it instant or just coffee grounds ? Makes more sense to mix in a separate bowl then pour into pan, i think i'd use coconut milk. No choc. chips at all. Where's the written recipe ?

The coffee is instant. 1 teaspoon is good, 2 if you really love coffee.
I could see mixing it in a bowl, too...but then some people might say this isn't a "dump" cake. The fact that I'm mixing means some might not call it a dump cake, anyway, so it's complicated haha

What would happen if you just layered and bake
That's a good question. I thought about doing that, but I think that, as with other cake recipes, mixing / agitating the ingredients together is necessary if you want a fluffy, cake-like texture. However, if you try this by just layering in the ingredients, let me know how it turns out 🍫🍫

No, no eggs. I personally prefer cakes made with eggs, but this was still good. Vanilla ice cream would be great with this--I used whipped cream. 👨🍳😀

It's like cake-brownie! And since it is baked, scramble an egg into the milk to add the egg. I would also DEFINITELY NOT use powder milk but REAL milk or even half milk and half heavy cream. I think you'll like it much better!😊 that powder milk to me is a cry of desperation 😭😢

You are making a brownie recipe. Real cake recipes have EGGS in them. Makes the cake light. Why don't you use a mixing bowl for all the ingredients except the chips. Mixing the ingredients in the baking dish does NOT make it a dump cake.
